A day early on week five - the girls are coming along nicely. Just leaving them out in the sun and making sure they are not too dry. Started adding some Fox Farms this week. Still contemplating some kind of technique, not sure I want to stress them. Perhaps defoliation? Open to comments. Cheers!

How is it growing, my fun(k) loving friends? ***INFO*** For more on my setup, why it was monster cropped, and how I made the canopy, see Germination page and subsequent weeks. They had 48 hrs of darkness, and the time has come to say goodbye to my friends. I thanked them again, spend some time with them, and under the sound of Amazonian shaman's harvest and healing songs (will post link), asked for their gifts, and apologized for taking their lives. I do this while in contact with the plants, touching, smelling them, observing every detail, no thoughts, just in the present moment. I feel emotional as I do this and remember how they were a companion, a source of distraction in a time of worry, sadness, and loss. How they already comforted me and kept me company in a time of painful insights about honesty, commitment, and staying true to myself. I thank them again for their wisdom and gifts, viva Santa Maria, viva Planta Maestra, may the mother of all beings give us healing and protection. And I proceed with the harvest as I visualize my intentions with every cut. Branch by bud laden branch is tenderly untangled from the scrog net, taken with a clean-cut and immediately hung upside down in the grow tent, which will now double as a curing and drying room. A couple more weeks and we will have the final cured and dried weight. More photos and movies will follow, this is where we are so far!! So the grow had dried in 7 days, what I wanted to be 14 at least. Thankfully, its Sativa ancestry shines through, the smoke isn't harsh, the buds a sticky and smelly, no hay smell at all. We ended up at 246 grams, excluding a shitload of larf and popcorn bud, totaling at 310 grams all in, a first at a gram per watt for me, but for the Zambeza seed competition, I stated we would only weigh the quality bud. Overall I'm very happy!! I smoke for medical reasons and it's used for ritual and healing purposes, never to be sold, as it loses its magical properties. Should I have to buy Gelato of this quality at the dispensary that I frequent, it would cost me at least € 15,-- per gram. 246 x 15 = 3690 euros. also, 49 car rides of 25 miles there and back, 250 euros in gas saved. Weekly update on these girls. They got a major defoliation this week so it'd allow the lower flower sites to mature some. They're sweet candy smelling when you rub the stems. The flower stretch has stopped now the sites are swelling daily. Over all I'm excited to see what the coming weeks have in store. Happy Growing

Well week 3 is here nothing but good growth so far just fed her the remaining quart from the last solution mix and I must say she is loving it. Come Monday I will raise her dose and mix in some grow big. I also started some LST, those bottom tops are receiving so much light penetration now. after all the mistakes made on week 3, they seem to be recovering pretty well. i've been paying attention and trying to expose as many tops to light as possible.. decided to defoliate them as they were getting a little bit too bushy, and lower ends of the plant were not getting as much light

Day 64 - June 5 June 5 - 09.45AM Swelling continues, Pistils are beginning to shake, with some vibrant orange. The end is maybe 10 days away. Senescence continues with minor purple hue starting. June 5 - 09.45AM Once AC is fixed I will push this further. June 5 - 09.45AM Temperature at 79F. June 5 - 03.45PM AC temporarily fixed. Day temps and night temps will be cooler. June 5 - 08.25PM Temps back down to sub-75F. Trichomes are still clear! June 6 - 04.20PM Day Temps under 75F. Trichomes still clear. June 6 - 04.20PM I regret removing 3 3-finger leaves beneath canopy, this was done to promote more airflow below, but with harvest being so near, it was likely unnecessary stress. June 7 - 08.00AM Watered approximately 5.5L. Humidity has spiked as a result, perhaps I should add a dehumidfier straight after watering. Keeping temps closer to 70F to try and kick start senescence. June 8 - 09.30AM Morning temp at 70F, night temp likely 65F (not confirmed) - I suspect the tent will get no hotter than 74F today. Trichomes still clear, with some cloudyness appearing. June 9 - 09.30AM Trichomes are clear, some heads are half clear, half cloudy. June 10 - 09.30AM Removed wilted leaf, still lots of clear trichomes. June 10 - 05.10PM Soil is cold, likely due to the lower temperature. Weight of pot is still a little heavy, I'll water approximately 6L before lights out tonight. (Day 70) June 11 - 08.30AM Watered 5.5L to runoff, towel collecting droplets under roller. Was too tired to water yesterday. Time taken to saturate soil was roughly 1 hour.

Beginning a 2 week flush, just tap water from my bathroom.. nothing special lol smell is getting very dank

Switched to bloom nutes. The lowered screen has already filled up to the second level and filled in very nicely. About ready for autopilot.

She is growing good. Defoleated A lot. She is starting to get frosty. No burn upped the newts to 680 ppm. Hung the second light. So things should get interesting.

5/5/2024 Pistils pistils pistils 5/8 these plants are fucking exploding! Super exciting to see them like this. Pistils everywhere and they’re just STACKING! don’t even see budlets yet, just pistils. The structure of these plants is beautiful. They handle training fairly well. I topped one and super cropped it and did a bit of lst. I was feeling impatient so I decided to see what happened if I pushed the one a little harder and left the other to grow naturally.

Day 1 Success! Both seeds germinated after 4 days although considering how tall they already are (2,5 cm / 1 inch) I guess they popped out of the soil yesterday already but I didn't check on them until today. Both seedlings had a piece of the seed shell still attached so I used a qtip and gently removed those shells. Overall humidity in the tent is low but I'm not overly concerned considering the humidity domes, which help to increase the humidity around each seedling. Day 2 Not much to report except that each plant grew 2 cm since yesterday. Day 3 Each plant added another cm of growth. The Blumat Digitals showed that the soil moisture was still in a good range (100-120 mbar) but the topsoil was a bit dry so I sprayed each plant with 1 liter of water (pH 6.5). Day 4 No noticeable vertical growth in either plant but the leaves are getting bigger. Day 5 Leaves are getting larger and another half centimeter of vertical growth. Day 6 Each plant added another half cm of growth. The Blumat Digitals showed that the soil moisture was still in a good range (102-115 mbar) but the topsoil was a bit dry so I sprayed each plant with 1 liter of water (pH 6.5). Day 7 Some additional growth, both vertically and leaf size.

Alrighty, we’re closing in on the final transplant (moving from 3L to 11L) which should really encourage lateral growth. The two Northern Lights plants are very compact, so I’m already working on opening up the canopy early to prepare for a proper SCROG. If we transplant within the next 7 days, we’re likely looking at flipping to bloom in about three weeks. As a newbie to photoperiods (I’ve only run autos before), the growth pace feels very different; slower and more deliberate. But I actually enjoy how much more control you have. You can really shape them the way you want. Next step: stretch that canopy wide and let the net do its magic. The screen is coming soon; let’s weave a green carpet. Stats so far: 💧 Watering: Every third day 🌡️ Temp: 26–28°C 💦 Humidity: 70% RH 📈 VPD: ~1.13 kPa 💡 Light: ~600 PPFD
