I went ahead and germinated 4 seeds originally by first soaking in a glass of tap water for 12 hours then placing in pre-moistened Peat Pellets, of which all four were successful. Two however looked like they they might not make it, so I germinated 3 more by first soaking for 12 hours, then placed on moist paper towels for 48 hours. I checked them on the third day and all had sprouted. I then planted the additional 3 seedlings next to the ones already in pots and will wait 5-7 days to see which look the best, then cull the 3 'losers'. 10/12- Yesterday, I went ahead and ran the AirCube system manually today to give them their first feed. I have the reservoir filled with 60L of well water which was adjusted to 6.2ph @ 75℉. I then added 60ml each of Plagron Cocos 'A' and Cocos 'B' and 30ml of Plagron Power Roots to the reservoir and, after mixing thoroughly, readjusted the ph to 6.3 @ 75℉. I then ran the AirCube system on the 'Fill' setting for 10 minutes. While the system was filling the pots, I used a soil hydrometer to monitor the moisture level in the medium to make sure that I had the floats in the 'Brain Bucket' that control how much solution flows through the system adjusted correctly. Everything worked flawlessly with all of the pots getting saturated, then fully drained... excellent! 10/14- I ran the AirCube system again today after checking the ph of the reservoir which had risen to 8.0 due to off gassing of CO2 which occurs because of the large air stone I have in the reservoir to oxygenate the water in it. I adjusted the ph to 6.2 using SaferGrow's PH Down which BTW I love! After adjusting the ph, I ran the system manually for 10min, then drained it. I have the HLG 650R hung @ 28" above canopy and have it set to 45% power on a 19/5 cycle via a TrolMaster HydroX Controller. Tent temp's are running 80-82℉ with the lights on, 74-75℉ during the dark cycle. RH is being maintained by a 1.5g humidifier at 63% currently resulting in a 1.41kPa VPD. 10/17- Well there goes the first week for these three girls and so far, so good! They all have good color and leaf structure and I'm just waiting for them to take off now. I ran one manual feed cycle today for 15min upping the ppm's to 700, then drained the pots. I'll start gradually increasing the feed schedule along with the ppm of the nutrients starting next week... See you there!💚

Had to leave out of town for 8 days. My girls suffered both heat stroke and dehydration. I fed them and saturated the fabric pots. I also turned the dehumidifier off for the next 12 hours since the rain has slowed, for now. It doesn't look like the grew much this week. I'm afraid this is going to make the final weight significantly less than it would have been.

How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. This is true of seed starts or clones made from seed starts. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. This is due to light spectrum, temperature, and/or photoperiod changes. Yes, Freakshow will do exceedingly well indoors, and will thrive and mature just fine in a wide variety of natural environments as well, so it's definitely both and I think might even prove to be more resilient to those sorts of transitions. Q. What are the potency and terpenoid levels? A. The different parallel lines that we are developing can be directed in a few different pathways flavorwise. Q. Why are the seeds white? A. Why is the sky blue? No, the mature seeds are shrouded by a rice paper thin membrane which has coloring and mottling on it, but it's so fragile that it disintegrates in the process of shucking. Stripped of the outer layer the seeds are very pale, nearly white. It came as no surprise that this plant would have abnormal seeds. Q. Is it a GMO? A. Wow...? Well, it's seriously "modified" and the modifications are definitely genetic, and it is an organism. (Genuinely Modified Organically!) Uh, no. No radiation, no recombinant DNA, no gene splicing or editing, no TALEN or CRISPR! These biotechnologies don't belong in the food and medicine plant industries. Q. Is it a big producer? A. Freakshow will produce nice, fat, dense colas (see gallery) with remarkable trichome coverage, and you can expect yields according to your veg. time, root space, and general knowledge and expertise as a gardener. The same set of variables apply to expected outcomes regarding cannabinoid levels and terpene profiles. Q.What is the lineage? A. (Bigbud x Skunk#1) x (Big Sur Holy Weed x Banana Kush). NLD("Sativa") dominant, but the afghanica influence is apparent. I'm pretty sure that Freakshow contains some Trainwreck and some Maui Wowie based on some research I did on the origins of the Pineapple Express. Interestingly Big Sur Holyweed, OG Kush, Banana, Trainwreck, and Maui Wowie are all of unclear origins. We have to remember that these are all just names and that they don't really mean much. The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. Couch unlock. Q. Is it pest and mildew resistant? A. Indeed it is. On many occasions in the last few years, it has been observed that when pest and mildew issues were affecting other plants adjacent to in the vicinity of Freakshow plants, for unknown reasons the freaks remained entirely unaffected. This includes 0botritis, PM, various mites and insects, soil fungus, etc. We haven't heard any complaints along those lines so far, so if anyone has any problems, especially with a rigorous IPM regimen in place, we would like to hear about it. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. 7/11 It's pouring. We got like 2 in of rain. I compared the flowering with that of the mendo breath I grew in a previous journal and they are real close. Tjat was DONE DONE in September. Judging by the small preflowers they are going to be ready approximately around the same time. I think I'm going to have a middle September harvest with some and some will go to October. Realistically, I should've changed this to flower. I like to call it "the stretch" though. Plants are stretching like a mother fucker. Seems like the less I fuck with them the better they do! No nutes yet. I'm going on vacation for a week and I think I won't feed before I leave either. Plants don't look like they are lacking in anything. Just because I have tons of nutes doesn't mean I need to use them. Still need to put up the secondary supports for flower. Went over after a break in the rain. Went through each plant one by one. Most had leaves that were either turning yellow or yellow at the bottom interior. I only removed leaves that were dead or dieing. I should probably have degoliated more but I'm doing the KISS method this year. Things seem to be doing good that way. Some minor pests. I found a slug but put out slug bait for those and earwigs. Noticed a few white flies and multi color flies (probably fungus knats but they are up at the top, not down by the soil. I'm going to think about it and do some research. Damage is so MINIMAL and pests are MINIMAL that im holding off spraying. I mat start nutes tomorrow though. I'm uncertain on a lot of things. I need to meditate on it. Just because those interior leaves died the plants are still a LUSH dark green so I think they're alright. It's going really good but I'm going to be on vacation for a week. I can still monitor daily with my camera's and my family that is watching them will FaceTime me every morning and show me what's going on. They know what they're doing and if something arises I have BASICALLY a growers union in my town. All family. We look after each other. That's the only reason I considered even going. However, the event horizons, sherb pie, toasted toffy and AT LEAST 1 GMO "LOOK" like they will be flowering early. Like I said they look similar to a mendo breath pheno on another diary that finished in September. We shall see. I'm excited that's for sure! 7/12 So far no rain! Super hot and muggy. Killed a jpn beetle and a moth larvae this morning and another beetle this afternoon. I'm seeing SOME pest damage which makes me want to spray before some of these plants take off flowering. There isn't much damage and tje birds sit on the top just WAITING for a chance to swoop in and grab something. I've seen tons of wasps tjis year. I killed a snail yesterday and put out slug bait around my pallets. I'm leaving early tomorrow. I'm CONSIDERING doing an application of Cap'n Jack's before I leave. I'm not sure. I made little DIY videos for dad and I hope he follows them. If not I'll have another grower come help. With all the rain I noticed some white flies when I shook a couple plants. I don't have time to really deal with it right now. There were only a few and I think spinosad would kill those too. Either way it will be fine. I can monitor via camera. I can even hit an alarm that goes to four different people. Still. I don't like leaving my girls. Especially in this heat. 7/13 Left early for a short vacation. Just got a picture saying it's sunny there and my plants are doing good. I'm lucky to havecthe crew that I do. I'm sure if I asked they'd put up yellow sticky traps. That's something I may consider. 7/14 Dad said it Rained last night and driving down here it was just PURE SHEET RAIN. He sent me pics I uploaded and everything looks GREAT! gonna get sun after all that rain and wind. They are gonna explode! 7/15 Still on Vacation. Dad showed me the plants and said they looked a little dry so I had him use the 4 GALLONS OF WATER I HAD PREMIXED FOR HIM TO WATER THE GARDEN. This way each plant gets a half gallon. It's supposed to be in the 90's with no rain tonight. Rains euppised to come tomorrow but I've seen how fast a bag can dry out in ONE day with super hot weather and high winds. The wind blows through the bag drying the medium out. Dad's right. Things do look amazing. I'm having fun but it will be nice to get back and see if I was right and those few plants are trying to flower. Looks just like those two mendo phenomes that flowered early. 7/16 still on vacation. Got a nice rain for the plants. Not much though. 7/17 Had DAD WATER FOUR GALLONS ON THE GARDEN. ANOTHER HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT. I really miss my girls. I'm ready to get going and start doing the things that need to be done. Few more days and I'll be home with my pretty ladies. Last time I came back to nice little flowers. They looked about in the same stage when I left. I love early finishers. They're stretching thsts for sure.

Day 15 plants are doing great 👍 still having problems with fouth seed second seed didn't germinate so here I go with number 3 seed for Yumboldt auto... Day 17 diffently great white is growing fast The Acapulco gold is still small really slow growth and Northern lights is average growth. filled resivors with ro water no nutrients yet.... Day 18 plants doing great took a Blueberry auto seed and germination has started. This is for the fourth plant for this room..none of the Yumboldt auto seeds germinated. All three of them Duds. Day 19 plants seem to be growing a little faster filled resivors with plane ro. Day 20 plants are starting to grow and are looking fine. Day 21 three weeks in and I'm thinking about adding nutrients to resivor by day 25 because great white shark is looking like roots maybe already down in resivor this thing is growing faster then the others.

Just got a second light (Mars Hydro TS1000) to cover this 4 by 4 Tent. I don’t know if i should harvest, i don’t have a magnifier, but i have one o the way. Let know know what you think.

It has been another great week for these Fastbuds ~ Wedding Cheesecake Autos!! Today is day 22 from seed and this upcoming week all 5 will be getting Tied down for LST ! All are getting same veg feed just but make sure if you are using rapid start your gonna have to mix in PH up in your feeds! This week all the plants started to take off in flower. Buds swelling up by the day. Stopped feeding flower burst and added Pk9-18 and advanced meta boost to aid with flowering. Smell has started to increase but not to potent as of yet. EC also increased to 1.6 for increased demand in flower. Also stopped spraying IPM this week as it don't want it to effect the bud smell or taste come harvest.

Watering every two days this watering was a plain water with calMag other than that I give a couple of the plants 2 weeks then I'll see if they ready for the chop.
