Day 31 - 8/14 - LOL Never mind on flipping her I guess, I ended up topping her! I wasn't going to, the furthest thing on my mind when it came to training her! But, I just did! I topped her! What can I say...I am very impulsive. I get an idea in my head and it's done before the next thought. I will change things up on a dime! - Well, she is doing good after that sudden head chop though. May end up needing to go higher on that soon. - 7" tall still - She's already growing new pretty leaves and looking more bushy lol. I'm glad I topped her. - Hoping her full strength will help her paleness now lol, and her big dose of cal mag of course. She didn't seem to mind the switch up to Plagron at all, but she was really young though. She did yell a bit at me for starting her so low...but this was my first time using Plagron, and my first time not going off of someone else's chart so I was fine taking my time. And, as you can see, she survived LOL She also didn't mind me suddenly cutting her head off. LOL When will I flip.....now that will be a mystery. I'm sure it will just hit my head one day that "today is the day"....and I'm sure there will be no actual reason for that specific day either, just an "I felt like it". I have ended the veg cycle and transitioned into flowering. I let them veg an extra week to get more growth around the inner nodes. Training is working as Daphni almost looks like a big Bonsei tree and most of the branches growing from the underside have curled up and are growing straight up. For the past weeks my pH levels have always gone down and my humidity stayed around 55% but over the past week of vegging the pH has started to rise over time and the Humidity has gone up 10% points to 66%. What caused that change in direction? will have to study. I have the interior radio playing the local rock station 95.7 FM. As for the roots, they are very long and new roots continue to grow. wondering what average root growth for a 1 gal container looks like. No major problems for now as Daphni prepares to enter the flowering stage.

Esa familia, de nuevo volvemos actualizar las skunk, y es que me encanta es una variedad que crece con un gran tallo y corta distancia entre nudos, muy vigorosa, 2/3 crecen bastante guay, pero hay una que aunque también crezca bien se quedo algo más pequeña. Trying to dial their veg in. Nutes may be too old or too high. Changed with 4ml CaMg per gallon of RO water. The rest is MaxiGrow. Ever since adding rockwool to the grow, I have struggled. I don't have the dry back timed right yet. I moved my fan to dry the top of the pot surface instead of in the root zone or at the canopy height. After about 10 days I dumped out the rockwool and have replaced with hydroton. My initial though on using rockwool was to give the roots more space during late life stages. My experience has been with hydroton and I notice that the roots eventually get bound because the hydroton is a durable material and will not crush or compact. Rockwool on the other hand will compress when squeezed so I was hoping that in the late life stages the roots would compress the rockwool and make more room in the pots. The issue was dryback. If I used chunks instead of croutons, this may help but the other reason I used them was because I had them here already. If anyone is trying to slow their dryback down, they should consider adding 10% volume of croutons to hold moisture in the medium a bit longer. Notice anything different? They are starting to adapt to their new media. Hopefully by next week I can get them to perk up. One plant has looked better than the other three. I have no idea what these plants need to “perk up”. Possibly a different grower. If a grape terpine wasn’t in the end results I would have culled these long ago. Hopefully they perk up when we get to flower. 3 look ,,,, meh, the fourth is descent. Trimmed all four back down to 12” tall. Flower next week.

I used both the soaking in a cup and paper towel method to germinate. I’m using fox farms ocean with no other fertilizers until week 3 or 4. I let it finish germinating in the window indoors. I water with R/O water PH 6.0-6.2

Big week! I got my new EarthBoxes and a bunch of goodies. I picked up the Probiotic Farmer's Alliance kit from BuildASoil, so I also got some EM-1, Kashi Blend, dolomite lime and Malibu compost. Alongside that I picked up Colorado Worm Compost (vermicompost), Gnarley Barley (malted barley, corn and hemp) and Craft Blend (aprox 3-5-2 organic mix). Unfortunately there was a bag of soil missing, so I ended up using my own mix though I am somewhat scared of it being too clay-heavy for the SIP. I inoculated with EM-1 and began fermenting a batch of activated EM-1 to make the bottle last longer. It looks about a week from LST, after that I hope to set up a two-tier SCROG setup and begin growing the bushes. I will begin spraying AEM-1/EM-FPE/EM-5 alternatively once a week for IPM, I will try to avoid using neem this round (unless I find this approach lacking). I also brewed a batch of EM-FPE with aloe that smells incredible, I can't wait to give it a go.

This week was good, stopped feeding nutes, ro water only, the buds are so solid, nice and thick. Didn’t think this was going to be so big, the 16”x16” fits the growbed perfect, it the plant is a little cramped, a 24”x24” would be perfect, as the branches would be able to droop more and allow more light to some lower growth. However after this I’m using these tents to do smaller scrog plants, which are photos. And I’ll do the auto-flowers in a more open environment.
