Week 12 for Black Lebanon by SSSC She's really filling out nicely compared to last week I've had to bend some of the tops that were getting taller than the rest but nothing crazy. I went through a period of barely feeding her... well this week she's been fed 5-7L of water plus heavy heavy sprays every night😂 so a bit of a change up she doesn't seem phased either way. Currently having issues with crickets... keep eating my leaves not sure what to do about it if anyone can suggest anything? 😎

Week 2 went well. Plant 1 kicked off the bloom cycle with a bang, plant 2, still asleep I guess🤷‍♂️ finally showing a flower formation on day 14. Plant 1 was showing after 34 hours of dark, day 2. As far as the canopy goes, 74 out of 81 squares filled. I'm guessing one more tucking session in a week and we sit back and watch. Cranked up the food to, again, what general hydro recommends at this stage aswell as some bud start I had a sample of from a buddy. I dont intend on buying any magic potions this time around, just the future harvest samples I have. Setup needs a reformat, at that point I will settle on a nutrient line for the next grow. The root mat seems to be working as I hoped. How this affects yield/quality vs extra veg who knows🤷‍♂️ but more roots more buds right? I'm also zeroing in on the dryback cycles which I believe is causing more branching and less tap root entanglement. Hard to capture but the root mat is a crisp white for the most part. In the photos, the dead yucky brown rot looking portions are actually only slightly darkened. Hopefully light leak, not fungus as the brown is only on mature roots and not slimy in the slightest. What can I say about barneys ayahuasca purple. Its purple already😅 I must add, flower set is a beautiful thing. The anticipation is building, fingers crossed🤞

Week 9 flower is coming to an end and the GG#4 still has about a week to go. She definitely looks done, but the heads are mostly cloudy, no amber, which is fine for me but I have a couple others that are finishing up so I’ll chop them all at the same time. A few nanners pooped near then end, think I had the light intensity to high and far along into flower and that’s also why the SD had foxtail like growth, just displayed the stress in different ways, but what the hell do I know lol 😂. Flowers seem hard and dense! Stripped most the large leaves that I could easily get at and just watering still letting the soil stay a bit on the dryer side, but consistent. Steadily lowering the humidity the best I can and manage, but it’s a bit difficult as I took down the humidifier to clean and get ready for harvest and got the dehumidifier going, but got another cold snap coming through and it’s dry outside and the house heat is running, don’t have a clean filter for the humidifier now, trying to get it right, right to the end, but Mother Nature is making my unnatural grow difficult lol. How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. This is true of seed starts or clones made from seed starts. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. This is due to light spectrum, temperature, and/or photoperiod changes. Yes, Freakshow will do exceedingly well indoors, and will thrive and mature just fine in a wide variety of natural environments as well, so it's definitely both and I think might even prove to be more resilient to those sorts of transitions. Q. What are the potency and terpenoid levels? A. Average 18-20% THCa, THC; negligible CBD, CBN with terps variable, averaging 2.5-3.5, primarily limonene and pinene, but this is variable, there was a lot of diversity in terp combinations and compositions in all the prior generations, it's just something that was left "as is" for now. The different parallel lines that we are developing can be directed in a few different pathways flavorwise. Q. Why are the seeds white? A. Why is the sky blue? No, the mature seeds are shrouded by a rice paper thin membrane which has coloring and mottling on it, but it's so fragile that it disintegrates in the process of shucking. Stripped of the outer layer the seeds are very pale, nearly white. It came as no surprise that this plant would have abnormal seeds. Q. Is it a GMO? A. Wow...? Well, it's seriously "modified" and the modifications are definitely genetic, and it is an organism. (Genuinely Modified Organically!) Uh, no. No radiation, no recombinant DNA, no gene splicing or editing, no TALEN or CRISPR! These biotechnologies don't belong in the food and medicine plant industries. Sadly, in the near future it will become commonplace and widespread in cannabis and other medicinal plants as it is already is with food crops and ornamentals. Q. Is it a big producer? A. Freakshow will produce nice, fat, dense colas (see gallery) with remarkable trichome coverage, and you can expect yields according to your veg. time, root space, and general knowledge and expertise as a gardener. The same set of variables apply to expected outcomes regarding cannabinoid levels and terpene profiles. Q.What is the lineage? A. (Bigbud x Skunk#1) x (Big Sur Holy Weed x Banana Kush). NLD("Sativa") dominant, but the afghanica influence is apparent. I'm pretty sure that Freakshow contains some Trainwreck and some Maui Wowie based on some research I did on the origins of the Pineapple Express. Interestingly Big Sur Holyweed, OG Kush, Banana, Trainwreck, and Maui Wowie are all of unclear origins. We have to remember that these are all just names and that they don't really mean much. The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. Couch unlock. Q. Is it pest and mildew resistant? A. Indeed it is. On many occasions in the last few years, it has been observed that when pest and mildew issues were affecting other plants adjacent to in the vicinity of Freakshow plants, for unknown reasons the freaks remained entirely unaffected. This includes 0botritis, PM, various mites and insects, soil fungus, etc. We haven't heard any complaints along those lines so far, so if anyone has any problems, especially with a rigorous IPM regimen in place, we would like to hear about it. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. Well started flush on out door cheese well greenhouse indoor only just preflowering off site so less pics like the gorilla frisan duck so yeah more pics this week peace ended up chopping cheese 2 as bud rot struck so got rid and got 11.3 grams wet from 1 so quite low yield mould resistances not the best not the most crystals I have seen nor the least it's a 2 out of 10 so far yeah staying at 2 as was fun to grow but yeil was disgraceful 1.6 g dried she had the cheese smell and taste but little vegy so going to cure the remainder try in 2 weeks utterly as for the rest can't wait frisan duck has like 70+branches so she's going to be a nice harvest no pre flower yet peace

Ever since I turned to mars hydro I have double sometimes nearly quadrupled my yields I first had with eBay lights (meh) I have never looked back since and gained so much respect from the community and the breeders too! I had to bring her back inside this week. She was still growing in the greenhouse, but stuck in preflower. She was getting taller and taller with no budlets in sight. Hhmmm i wonder??? You guessed right, SHE IS A PHOTO PERIOD! FXCK! so i had to take my Zkittles that was in preflower outside earlier than i wanted, in order to make room for this huge lemonberry haze that i had to start 12-12 on. Three days of 12-12 is starting to give me pistols....so she IS NOT an auto. She is still GROWING, and the 2 main tops are getting close to the leds. I had to tie her down using pipe cleaners and the tent frame. I sure do hope she doesn't get to much taller. I don't want the leds to burn her up, as i cannot raise them anymore. The LEDS are zip tied directly to the tent support frame and the support lines have been double looped to half their original hanging length. There is not much more i can do but start tying her down to the tent poles. THIS GIRL IS GOING TO BE A MONSTER YALL! Stay tuned! Other than the inconvenience of it being a photo, if i can pull this off with the limited space i have, she should yield HEAVY.

Week 2 has gone just as well as I'd like it too! I had an accident during the week where I had dropped a sticky bug trap on one of my girls, this led to me accidentally ripping off a fan leaf and a half, but she seems to have come out of it just fine! (Thankfully). I have been feeding 1/3 strength nutes the past few feeds, stepping it up from 1/4. I will be watering until I see runoff from now on to prevent nutrients from building up in the coco. Update(day 15, 4/12/20) Today I purchased a new oscillating fan, co2 bags and a new hygrometer that hooks up to my phone and shows me stats. The girls have been putting in a lot of work over the past 24 hours. I also had a Purple Punch photo seed sprout today which I may be turning into a mother plant. I will be starting a diary for this girl too. Update (Day 16 5/12/20) Second purple punch photo popped today, going to keep 1 inside and give the other to my mom to take care of. The girls got their first 1/4 dose of calmag today fed at 6ph due to all the nutrients settling there.( I do have ph +/- but I'm going to try run this whole grow at 5.8-6.2. Update (Day 17 6/12/20) Plants seem happy today. Fan leaves producing a the pre-existing nodes are starting to shoot out quite rapidly. Unfortunately, my streets power went out today for ~90 minutes, I opened the tent, windows and doors to get any light in I could, thankfully the power came back on shortly after. I fed the girls today with very little run-off(I'm trying to perfect the amount of water they need). Update (Day 18 7/12/20) The girls have jumped up over night! I wont be feeding today as I'd like the coco to dry out quite a bit more. Update (Day 19 8/12/20 Gave the girls a small feed today with very little run-off Everything seems to be going well so far, I'm very thankful! Update (day 20 9/12/20) Everything is going pretty well today. I will not be feeding as the increased humidity has kept the coco more moist than usual. Will be feeding full strength nutes tomorrow! Day 29: Hi all , hope we are all well.?. The Expert ladies have been working hard this week on their figures and have been daily pushed to do a little more. The Mimosa has not skipped a beat with her injury amd thankfully her 5th node has survived. I won't push this node too much as it is very weak still as it repairs. The rest of her nodes and leaf have been woven to the shape she is now in order to keep all the remaining tips in their own space for light. I also nipped out the tiny 1st nodes on each branch to save them being given energy they won't get to benefit from later. She is looking nice and healthy at this point too with no signs of any issues. Glueberry is also more than happy to work with me on her l.s.t . Her main stem is really thickening up and getting less bendable as the days pass. I will keep her held over similar to a mainline style of grow too. Lots of potential in this girl too. I did water them both with about 3L between them and got the pots dampening ready for a real soak in the next few days. Keep safe and well until next update.

Week 1 - The ladies are starting to produce more nodes, they seem like they are loving the fish tank water (Doing as experiment). Plant to Right Front had a leaf issue, one leaf had combined, other had 1 missing leaf (See in Pictures). Once Tall enough will start LST. Using Spider Farm SF4000, Growing 4 Northern Light Autos by Seedsman in 5 gal Fabric Pots, 70/30 coco perlite mix, with Living soil at bottom 1/3s of Pot.
