Hello all and welcome to the much anticipated beginning of vegetation for these five Epsilon F1 Autos from Royal Queen Seeds. Allow me to introduce Ally, Normani, Lauren, Dinah, and Camila. All five girls have pushed put their 2nd node (3 fingers) and node 3 is on the way out. I expect all five girls to take off from here, and so the next seven days are going to be big. I will start fertigation today. For comparison purposes the Day 1 here means Day 1 of veg. For Ally, Normani, and Lauren this is day 11 since breaking ground, for Dinah day 10, and for Camila it is day 9. For the rest of this grow I will increment days from here but it's really easy to work out days since breaking ground as it is a simple matter of day + 10, 9, or 8 respectively. Day 1: Fertigated 2l. Day 2: Right ok. Can you actually believe this response in 24h? The poor girls were STARVING. Wow look at the change in color! Wow look at the growth!! Ally is most advanced, Camila least. It is fascinating so see them develop! They are growing faster and faster now. So let us talk about the elephant in the room a little bit. Phenotypes. At the moment there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that this crop will be anything other than uniform. Nevertheless there are some clear differences in some of the girls. So let's have a look shall we: Ally (center), Normani (closest to the middle purple basil), and Lauren (opposite side to Normani): These three girls are not quite identical, but it is a pretty challenging game of spot the difference. Dinah: Okay so Dinah is coming in noticeably darker than her sisters, with a little more tendency to claw, and with quite a bit larger and more angular serrations. Her first leaves are also a different shape. Camila: Little Camila had a twin, but I killed her with some overzealous tweezing before I realised what I had. She came in with only one cotyledon, and she came in last. Her first leaves are quite different to the rest of Fifth Harmony. She is also showing slighty more narrow leaves. She is lastly also very slightly more pale than her sisters. Are these phenotype differences? I mean in terms of the environment, feeding, watering, substrate, temperature, light, airflow... well these girls are all in the same pot, so unless I am particularly haphazard in my mixing and fertigation (which I can assure you I am not) I do not think it likely that these ladies have significant enough environmental difference to account for these quite clear visual differences. I am absolutely fascinated to continue to witness this, and it has only now occurred to me what a great privilege it is to be able to grow the world first F1 cannabis hybrids, and what an astounding honor to be one of the very first hobby growers to do so! The fact that RQS made this happen by not only supplying the seeds and other merch and goodies, but also sending expedited international shipping so as to fit within my arbitrary timescales is almost unbelievable. When these guys (on their website) say that it is their belief and mission to forge the path to worldwide legalisation, they are not hollow corporate whispers, it is their core of being. Cannabis everywhere is truly blessed to have such a worthy and proactive ambassador. Bravo RQS! I have adjusted the timer such that the main tent is now getting 20/4 upped from 18/6. After monitoring DLI at 18/6 for a week I am unhappy with the overall level but because of the varying heights of the plants I am limited in what I can do in adjusting the light height. Some areas were only getting 20 DLI. So I have rearranged to have the taller plants on the edges and the lowest in the middle and doing it this way all plants are getting between 35 and 50 DLI at 20/4 - although one or two cola tips here and there are getting 55. Will monitor for a week. Day 3: Well look at this growth again!! These ladies have responded to feeding really well. Fertigated 3l. Day 4: Growth is accelerating fast, these ladies will be ready for their first training soon. I am starting to formulate an idea what to do. I am thinking of topping Ally and LST on the rest. Day 6: Fertigated 3l. Ladies growing fast now. Will soon be time to start training. However! The secondary nodes are developing strongly. Hmmm Day 7: Fertigated 3l. Defoliated the three fingered leaves from Ally and tucked the five fingered under other plants. End if week summary: Well when they said "hybrid vigour" they were not joking. Look at day 1 and day 7 side by side after approx 6 days into veg growth. Wow.

I think she's bulked up a bit this week. Just waiting on trichomes, this week they have just started to go milky.

So only after two weeks of curing these buds are becoming more and more refined! The texture of the buds is beautiful, it crumbles and grinds up effortlessly in my space case and is light, fluffy and almost “goopy” coming out of the grinder. I guess goopy is my description of ground bud that sticks together as it comes out of the grinder. It almost resembles goo or putty! That’s always a great indicator of a strain that has lots of sticky dank trichomes 😎 Now onto the high... I must admit, I was a little disappointed at first. I was initially caught off guard by how smooth the smoke went down, but usually after the first hit I feel something. After the first hit of this strain I didn’t, so I packed another bowl and sparked her up... not much different. Around 15min after my second hit I started to gradually feel a trippy/tingly full body buzz and strong head buzz come on. Once I sat down on the couch it’s like it fully kicked in and I really felt a truly euphoric full body high along with a head high that felt incredible. She’s definitely what some would call a “creeper strain”! To me though, the high is reminiscent of the first hour after ingestion of some top quality cubensis! In a nutshell the high is euphoric, energetic and crisp. I don’t feel groggy at all when I smoke this strain, I can be extremely productive with work and still articulate my thoughts with ease. I also noticed that I don’t get anxious in public and even though this strain is extremely uplifting and energetic I have zero issues getting to sleep at night. I could truly classify this strain as medicinal and I know if I was still a caregiver this would be on constant rotation! I will update more after 2.5-3.0 months cure!

Gave her a haircut at the beginning of the week, buds are fattening up quick. Im seeing noticeable changes daily. Increased light on time by 3 hours to 23 hours on. Feed has changed with the addition of Cycos swell (2.5ml/L) and Supa Stiky (2ml/L) and removal of potash plus. All to aid in the development of the phattest buds possible 😁 End of Week: Noticed rust spots on some fan leaves ref grow question. As with a lot of things in life, the harvest did not go as originally planned. I stated in my last entry in week 16, that I was going to continue the flush till I remembered and tried the dried, broken branch of C1. So I decided to harvest the plants on October 29th. Their last watering/feeding/flush was done on 10/27/21. I already had plans to take a day trip to see a MLS fútbol ⚽️ game I had tickets for on Saturday, 10/30/21; then I didn’t think parents would want to bring their kids near a house that wreaked of weed on Halloween, so not the 31st either. Then I had an appointment in the afternoon on Monday, and I didn’t want to get a late start, so not on 11/1/21 either. My wife had an appointment on Tuesday morning. Fortunately, her appointment was over by noon, so I got the chance to finally start the harvest on November 2nd. I turned off the lights halfway through the 12 hour light schedule on Sunday morning (10/31), so my ladies received varying periods of darkness before the harvest was begun. I harvested one plant per day for three days beginning 11/2/21. The day I started the harvest, I took all three plants outside for some pictures and to make a short video before cutting them up. The extended darkness before harvest made all three plants change their colors and become absolutely beautiful! I was very pleased with their final presentation. 02 Nov 2021 - C1 C1 was sitting in complete darkness for just under 48 hours when I took her outside to chop her up. Her buds were large, mixed with purples, blues, and pink. The trichomes glistened in the overcast sunlight and covered every bud like a protective blanket. I took some pictures of her by herself before starting her destruction. I started by snipping her branches and laid them out on a foil covered cookie sheet. Then I took them inside and started trimming, trimming, and trimming. Her buds are very dense and super sticky! The smell is absolutely divine! It took several hours to complete the trimming, and once I was done I had no desire to continue with the next plant. After I finished trimming all of C1’s buds, I got my wet weight on the branches before hanging them up to dry. 03 Nov 2021 - C2 C2 sat in complete darkness for nearly 72 hours before I took her out to harvest her flowers. The sun was shining, but it was windy and cold. I took some pictures of her in the sunlight and she was marvelous! Deep purples, with some pink edges mixed with some green in her foliage. She was truly a sight to behold. Then I cut her up into pieces. Wonderful, tight bud structure. Very dense. Trichomes a plenty and glistening! I truly love growing weed. My house by this time is absolutely saturated with the sweet, berry, fruity scent of these wonderful buds. You might think it unpleasant, but it wasn’t. I trimmed C2 for a long while because my hands are sore from two days of scissor snips and carefully holding and manipulating branches of sweet smelling, beautiful bud. The things we do for frosty buds! Once I finished trimming I got the wet weight and hung it up to dry along with C1. 04 Nov 2021 - C3 C3 sat in darkness for approximately 96 hours before finally getting harvested. It had been over a week since she had any water, and she was still beautiful and vibrant! The weather was not being friendly when I took her outside to cut her up. It started to rain lightly, so I wasn’t able to get any pictures of her before chopping her up. Sad, I know. I was in such a hurry to beat the downpour that I didn’t even think about it till it was too late. 🤷‍♂️ Oh well. As with the other two; I cut off her branches and laid them out neatly on a foil covered cookie sheet and took them in to start the trimming. As you may well imagine, I was sick and tired of trimming by this time, but I took my time to make sure that they were done well. Once done; I got my wet trimmed weight and hung them up to dry. Fast forward 4 days. 08 Nov 2021 C1 had been hanging to dry for 6 days, which is how long their mother took to dry. However, it was the end of summer when she was drying, and the relative humidity was between 50-60%. November is different! The humidity in my grow tent was very low at 39%, and not only was C1 super dry, but both C2 and C3 were also dry and ready for curing. Starting with C1, I took each plant out of the tent and got the dry weight on the branches for direct comparison to the wet weight before hanging to dry. Then I separated the buds from the branches and weighed the loose bud to get the actual smokeable harvest weight. I hope you all followed that. Here’s how all the weights turned out by plant. C1 - Wet trimmed weight: 8.566 oz. Dry trimmed weight: 2.214 oz. Actual harvest weight: 1.826 oz. C2 - Wet trimmed weight: 8.332 oz. Dry trimmed weight: 2.392 oz. Actual harvest weight: 1.992 oz. C3 - Wet trimmed weight: 8.750 oz. Dry trimmed weight: 2.763 oz. Actual harvest weight: 2.312 oz. Blueberry Muffin Trio: Hanging wet weight: 25.648 oz. Complete harvest weight: 6.130 oz. I am very happy with how this grow turned out! This Trio represent the only clones that I have ever been able to take root, and made it possible to get 4 complete grows from 1 plant. This grow was a success at the beginning, and with the experience I gained from my first three plants, the entire grow was wonderful! I hope you all have enjoyed this journey with me.
