flowering day 59/"FD59" (flowering week #9 since 12/12): ... the final 1-2 weeks with only water/no feeding :) flowering day 60/"FD60" (flowering week #9 since 12/12): i just uploaded a video 😎 flowering day 61/"FD61" (flowering week #9 since 12/12): early today i spotted four banans/nanners (first row right) und two banans/nanners (first row left) in the 80x80 240W tent on two plants in the (closest to the camera) first row. Cause they are nearly finished i decided to crop these 2 plants. They look really beautiful and purpled very much., I think the reason for the purple is that that they where the closest plants for the fresh air within the airflow and it was sometimes a little bit cold. I am a little bit frustrated cause the quantity could be 50% more but this time i am pretty sure that the LED panel was too close and/or too much power (95% powered 2x 120W panels). Next time i will use a new tent and plan to spend more time for the hole air and carbon filter setup. This time i had not enough space to raise the panel higher... Maybe the spide mites attack in the early flowering stage was also a factor. flowering day 65/"FD65" (flowering week #9 since 12/12): just a few shots before the final crop in ~1-4 days 😎 Summary for the next grow: 1. next time i will raise the LED-panels distance higher and reduce the power to 80% in the late flower 2. buying a better 80x80 tent 3. i will use poison in the last days of the vegetative phase again to be 100% sure that mites&thrips have no chance 4. four plants in 11L pots are enough in the 80x80., Otherwise it is hard to keep care of the plants in the last row. This will make the veg-phase longer (training) but i think the better airflow and more space are really better 5. next time i will use a scrog-net again... handling to stabilize the buds every day is too much work 😂

•Seconda settimana• Buongiorno ragazzi Entrando nella seconda settimana ci siamo accorti che nonostante tutte le precauzioni qualche foglia restava gialla, sempre quelle sottostanti. Da notare che la pianta cresceva benissimo e i pistilli aumentavano di giorno in giorno. A metà settimana circa abbiamo aggiunto 15g a pianta di top dress flo, un preparato organico che è risultato molto efficace e positivo per la pianta, irrigando regolarmente come sempre senza però l’aggiunta di melassa, solo acqua. Per sette giorni dalla somministrazione. Arrivando quindi fino a metà della terza settimana. Ricordo di aumentare sempre la dose di acqua, controllando la pianta e rimanendo sempre costanti nei giorni.

It has been another amazing week of the plants growing. I have been watching as the Fruity Freak leaves become progressively more fern-like, and ornamental as a result! Based on my Banizzle grows, I knew I needed to understand plant nutrients in a more meaningful way if I wanted these plants to thrive. So, I decided to get a soil test (see Ref. 1 below on how to perform a test) to understand what nutrients my plants needed. The report I received advised that I needed to add 200 lbs/acre of nitrogen, 150 lbs/acre of phosphorus, and 190 lbs/acre of potassium (see picture labeled Pic.1 (FYI you can't see these images unless you login to growdiaries)). I then researched what to do with my results (Ref. 2 helped), and I figured out that my nutrient needs of 200-150-190 fall close to a 2-1-2 ratio. I then looked at different types of organic fertilizers (see Ref. 3 and Ref. 4) and considered that I already had a 3-10-5 fertilizer (Vermibloom) on hand. I discovered Dr Earth’s Alfalfa Meal is 2-1-2 and includes beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizae (to promote healthy plant growth and disease resistance). However, I knew I would be low on nitrogen if I only used those two fertilizers. Therefore, I decided to buy some blood meal (12-0-0). I also liked that blood meal is more fast acting while the other two are more moderate. I hunted around for a solid fertilizer calculator and found an amazing tool from the University of Georgia Extension (Ref. 5). I entered all three fertilizers into the calculator, and it kicked out the exact amount of each fertilizer I needed to apply to 1 square foot (see Pic. 2). As I am using 10-gallon fabric pots (that can hold 1.5 cubic feet, but I put stone on the bottom and there’s space left at the top) I decided to use the one square foot application rate as I can always add more later, but I can’t take it away. Not only did I want to understand the nutrients I needed, but I also wanted to understand the structure of the soil (as it was not included in my test results). North Dakota State University has a nice page that discusses this (Ref. 6), and I performed a soil ribbon test (see Video 1) based on this information. I determined my soil to be medium textured (which is great), but I have seen occasional water pooling on the surface, suggesting that it may be more of a medium-fine. This means adding peat moss, coco coir, or other amendments might improve drainage (and plant hydration) and allow for roots to grow more easily. In the long run, I plan to use compost to enhance the soil structure and nutrients. I filled the bottom of my 10-gallon fabric pots with a ½” of pea stone to allow for drainage (Pic. 3). I then partially filled two 5-gallon buckets with topsoil from near where I will plant (but not in an area the roots will reach). I used a digital scale to measure the amount of fertilizers recommended by the calculator (Pic. 4, 5, and 6) and added it to one of the 5-gallon buckets (see Pic. 7). I mixed the fertilizers into the soil as evenly as possible (Pic. 8 and 9). I then poured a two-inch layer of non-fertilized soil, then peat moss, and then fertilized soil (in a roughly 2:1:1 ratio) and blended them together. I repeated this until the pot was full (getting additional soil as needed), and then I repeated the process for the other three pots. I set the filled fabric pots in my garage (Pic. 10) for two days to allow any upset bugs to flee into my garage instead of my house. I then moved the pots (wrapping them in a contractor garbage bag to prevent making a mess) into the room with the grow light. I placed a board on top of the fabric pots to insulate the plants (in their smaller pots) from the cold soil (Pic. 11). Once the soil in the fabric pots reaches room temperature, I will transplant. (Ref. 1) This video shows the method I used to take a soil sample. I didn’t have a field to test, so I took four samples from the area where I will eventually plant outdoors and blended them together. Day 29 : Entering the flowering stage, 2/3 plants have a clear N & calmag deficiency so have upped the dose. Also increased the height of the light, plants at 18 - 20” still stretching nicely around 1” daily. My PH run of was a little low at 6.1 so next few feeds will feed at 7.0ph to raise this a little.

Not a whole lot going on this week. Did some light trimming and removed the wires. Main stem on all 4 are nice and flat, going to let the girls veg out for a few weeks and just grow up wards. Moved the lights up 16 inches to let them stretch out. I also switched light cycles.. read an article that mentioned a lot of benefits to having 8 hours on and 4 hours off. Specifically I've noticed a lot of benefits ik terms of cooling and environmental control. I havent had to push water bottles into my buckets ar all this week. And it seems to be growing at a normal rate.

Put on A LOT of frost this week. Fan leaves are covered to the tips, I love this pheno so far.

CRAZY Also started to defóliate more as I approach week 8 Dat 45 Readjusted the lights, since they’ve grown so much since I messed with them. Day 46! The video speaks for it self 🤗🤗 Day 47! 2 more days than switching to 12-12 schedule Day 48! Couldn’t be patient and started 2 days earlier the 12-12 schedule, since they looked ready, and....... she grew from 15” to 18.5”! Day 49! This concludes this week 🔥🌱😌
