I didn't really plan for this grow, but I have some space right now and the mystery of a Fastbuds unnamed tester was too much to pass up, so here we GO! >> SEEDS << FastBuds - ORT2112 Being a tester, I'm as in the dark as you about this strain. It's going to be a wait and see job for everything. Given that it's a tester for the Originals line, we may be able to guess later on at its lineage maybe, we shall see! >> EQUIPMENT << I keep things pretty Lo-Fi: 3 Gallon Felt pots Bio-Bizz Light Mix Bio-Bizz Grow Bio-Bizz Bloom Bio-Bizz Alg-A-Mic Vitalink CalMag Fecida CR600 125w LED I grow in the Space Cupboard, a broom cupboard in my kitchen with the walls wrapped in survival blankets. It's small, but it's stealthy and convenient. I dialled in my light distance using a PAR meter on my phone and a IR thermometer to check Leaf Surface Temperature. I tend to let that stick around the 25C/77F mark once they hit flower. >> GERMINATION TIMELINE << 16/03 - Began germination by placing a seed between two cotton pads soaked in a little water, then placed between two plates and put on the floor of my grow space to keep them warm. Began to acclimatise the soil that I'll pot her into. 17/03 - It took about 36 hours, but the seed finally cracked this evening, so I took her out of the cotton and put her in the soil tonight. Misted the soil a little and popped a humidty dome overtop just to stop it constantly drying out. 19/03 - She took a while, but we finally have sprout! Probably my longest germination to sprout period I've seen from an auto, but we're above ground now, so let's see how we go!

Welcome back to the mystery grow. Moving into the first week, easy days so far. Day 4 - Height: 2" This seedling was a bit of a slow starter and took a little time to shoot her first leaves after breaking ground, but she's coming along now. Everything quiet and slow as always the case with seedlings. No nutes, no special care as yet, just watering with a tiny amount about 1-2" around the stem once every few days. Plodding through the seedling stage with little problems.

Welcome back to the mystery Fastbuds tester! Hope you're all well! Day 8 - Height: 2.5" Starting to get there with this girl now, another 5-7 days and she should be well clear of the seedling stage. She has a bit of a mutation on her first set of true leaves, with one shooting a small, second finger, which normally this first set of leaves don't shoot, but it's nothing to fuss over. Same routine as always with seedlings, just light water now and then to keep a 2" radius around the stem well watered. I actually used a little of the water I was feeding my Purple Punch with tonight, which had 1ml/l of Alg-A-Mic but thats fine, it's apparently good for seedling root growth anyway, though I never usually use it this early, I figure since we're testing seeds, might as well test nutrients at the same time too, right? It's basically just kelp anyway, so nothing crazy. Day 12 - Height: 5" Kicking on now, this plant is starting to build up a solid foundation. I'll give her another 4-5 days then think about training her, probably no more than a week. Watering is very simple, mostly just plain water every other day or so, just a small amount 2-3"around the stem. I guess next week it's all going to kick off with training and nutrients, so much more interesting days ahead! Thanks for reading, take care and grow well! x

Welcome back to the Mystery Tester! Time to get the training going on! Early days for the nutrient solution, so PPMs were low at 608 in, though the runoff was still reading at 860 PPM, which seems a bit high to me, maybe it's a bit of an anomaly. I'll have to watch out for that next week, but I think it will stabilise. (Note: my water sits around 350 PPM out of the tap.) Day 15 - Height: 5" This plant is coming up strong now, I trained her quite gently at first and I'll see how she goes. I'm a bit burned by overdoing my Purple Punch training so I'm just gonna start it a little slower here. I started nutrients too this week, just a low dosage of 1ml/l and we'll see how she responds. Looking really strong though, the stem is already getting a little woody and the nodes are really nicely spaced, so looking forward to seeing how she's going to grow out! Day 19 - Height: 5" She's started bushing out well and growing into a good shape for training, so I'm not going to have to keep pulling her about too much I think, I'll let her side branches put on a couple of inches and keep them down before just letting her go after that. She has had a bit of a growth spurt this week, so hopefully will be shooting in stretch from now on. Seems to be taking training and nutrients just fine, without any stalling of growth or stunting at all. Full speed ahead into pre-flower next week, fingers crossed! Cheers, thanks for reading! Grow well x

Welcome back to the Fastbuds Original Tester grow! Things are going well, still a mystery strain for now, though I think we can probably pretty confidently say that it's a fairly heavily Indica dominant strain judging by the early fan leaves, which were really characteristic of the stubby, five fingered Indica leaves you see. Otherwise though, we're probably going to have to wait and see for a few more weeks how the flowers look and smell before we can guess much more! Nutrient solution was high again this week at 1022 PPM in and 1099 PPM in the run off, but this plant seems to take on nutrients really well, so judging by the the look of her it's all good and we'll crack on. Last weeks high runoff PPMs do seem to have just been something of an anomaly, as it's at a very good level now. (Note: my water sits around 350 PPM out of the tap.) Day 22 - Height: 5.5" Things are looking good for this plant, she's growing into her training nicely and starting to bush out. I think a few more days and she should even out and start to shoot up. She took to the early dosage of nutrients just fine, so I'll up them as per my standard feed chart. I'm hoping she'll begin to stretch nicely over the next week and spurt some pre-flowers and then we'll be all on track! Day 26 - Height: 7" Looking good, still bushing out and starting to stretch up. I noticed this plant has really beautiful leaf structure, like picture perfect cannabis leaves. Could do with her hitting flower and the branches thickening up over the next week to ten days, but she should be good, she looks very healthy and everything is going very easy so far. Thanks for reading! Stay healthy, grow well x

Welcome back to the Fastbuds Original Tester grow! Nutrient solution quite high again at 1073 PPM in and 1193 PPM in the runoff. Runoff is rising a little bit, but it's not much of a concern yet, I'll keep an eye on it and on the plant as well and try to make sure it doesn't get out of control. (Note: my water sits around 350 PPM out of the tap.) Day 29 - Height: 11" This plant is continuing to do really well, it actually seems really solid and takes anything you throw at it, accepting training, nutrients and not at all fussy about temps. I added some CalMag to the feed schedule this week at a low dose of 1ml/L, I've noticed in my most recent grows that about week 7-8 my plants tend to develop issues with Calcium so I just drop this in for a few weeks around about the plants transition from veg to flower to stave those off and it seems to fix any issues before they arise. Otherwise, everything with this plant is looking healthy, still got those beautiful looking leaves and all looking good!

Welcome back to the Fastbuds ORT2112 Tester grow! She had a good stretch last week and has shot up to a good height whilst breaking into flower. Still growing like a champ and quickly becoming one fo my all time favourite fastbuds plants that I've ever grown in terms of how easy it's been. It really seems like a bullet-proof plant. Day 35 - Height: 16" Still looking really healthy and growing well! Photos from today were taken when the light had been off for about an hour, so she looks a bit saggy, but she's just taking a break. This plant has a few interesting characteristics that I'm noticing, firstly she has dark green leaves with that cabbage-like texture. Normally I might suggest this was a Nitrogen toxicity, but she has grown like this since day 1. Up until now I've mostly just been leaf tucking but I think I'll have to do some serious defoliation throughout this week to help clear up some space around the branches. Nutrient-wise, I'll start bringing in Bloom Nutrients from this week as she's pretty much in the swing of flowering now. As always I'll bring them up gradually and see how she gets on! I'm still going to feed her 1ml/l of CalMag this week, which will be the last week of CalMag, just to make sure she doesn't develop any calcium issues in the transition from veg to flower. Day 39 - Height: 16" Love this plant. It has stretched a little, but I am expecting this next week or so to be the making of her, as she should start to fill out her bud sites so we can see what she's actually going to start pushing out. I can't get over how easy this plant is, I'm basically just coasting through everything. Nothing special as far as care goes, I did some light defoliation and took off some of the largest fan leaves that were sitting in the middle of the plant and taking up space. Otherwise, just pushing on and sticking to the nutrient schedule. Happy days! Thanks a lot for following along, grow well!

Welcome back to the Tester grow, this plant continues to mystify! I'm starting to think it could be some kind of Kush variant, or a strain with OG Kush as a parent because it really reminds me of my Kush grows in the past. Not much to go on there, but maybe that gives you an idea as to how she's growing. Day 45 - Height: This plant is weird, after training it didn't really have many side stems and has basically shot up four new "main stems" with main colas, leaving it tall and skinny, but with each stem quite densely packed with bud sites. Still it's growing really healthy and strong still, I tried to open up the centre a little more to get some light down to the one or two lower stems that stayed short of the canopy, but her branches have got quite woody now, so it's a touch difficult. As far as care goes, this plant has been amazing. I think you could do anything to this and it would grow. Definitely it has been the hardiest plant I've ever grown and I'd recommend it to beginners all day long as it seems fool proof. We're up to full strength Bloom nutrients now and with all the foliage staying nice lush green, I've reduced the grow nutrients down to 1ml/l. She has started to smell now and is gradually getting stronger, but it's quite a classic, green skunky scent, doesn't seem too off the wall and nothing fruity here just yet.

Welcome back to the tester grow! This week has been really weird, I had to move my grow from an indoor cabinet to an outdoor tent, which has brought a lot of new challenges to the table, especially with the cold weather we've been having. The plants survived and the move is done though, so it's all good. Onwards and upwards. Day 49 - Height: 16" Care for this girl has been a little erratic this week, but she's not flinched from the move and still looks good. Her structure is really strange too, with four main colas stretching high above anything else and almost no side stems. The mains are growing bud sits top to bottom though, so I have faith that she'll be good. The scent is really starting to come through now too, I still think she's some kind of kush offshoot, but now all the frost that is showing up is giving me new ideas about what strain it could be. Nutrients wise, she is a very easy plant still, I don't think particularly hungry. Honestly, this plant is just not fussy for anything, surely the easiest plant I've ever grown. You could pop the seed in the soil and forget about it an d I think it would grow to harvest.

Welcome back to the FastBuds Tester grow, turns out we know the train now and its a Trainwreck! No literally, the strain is called Trainwreck... I'm pretty excited, I have smoked trainwreck once before and it was a great smoke, so I'm really glad to be growing one! I have to admit, I'm a little surprised, I thought that this plant was looking far more Indica than that, as Trainwreck is predominantly Sativa. She has the stretchy Sativa bud structure I guess, but the leaves and bushiness definitely seemed Indica to me, maybe I just got a bushy phenotype. Anyway, good news and mystery solved! Day 56 - Height: 16" This plant is still amazing to grow, she has got a little touch of yellowing and nutrient burn finally, but seems to have not slowed down from the move and the recent cold temps she has had to endure whilst I dialled in the new grow conditions. Still the easiest plant I've ever grown, though the Fastbuds Orange Sherbet that's growing next to her right now is giving her a run for her money on that front. Both have been crazy easy to care for! The frost is starting to really kick in on this girl this week and her smell is kicking off too. Hopefully a few more weeks max of coasting like this and she'll be good to come down, without too much of a hiccup from moving. Day 61 - Height: 16" Starting to get a nice fade going on with this plant now as she leeches out all the green from her fan leaves. The buds are starting to put on some nice weight too, as well as getting very frosty. Very simple care routine now, basically just watering with plain water every few days or so from now until the harvest, which I think will be another 10-14 days away. Hopefully we'll squeeze a bit more weight out between now and then! Thanks fo reading! Grow well x

What a great strain. All wrapped up after 70 days. I really enojyed this grow. >> HARVEST AND TRIM << Wet yield was 198g, not so bad considering I had to move my grow mid-flower and the conditions were completely different and took a week or so to get back to stable. As with everything else in this grow, the trim was super easy, thank F***! Hung up to dry on the main stems in temps of around 25c and a Relative Humidity of 40-45%. >> DRY BUD REPORT << Initial dry took a full week. The buds went into jars with Boveda 62% packs for a good cure before I smoke properly. Yield-wise, it's okay, I could do better net time now my set up is stable I think. The buds are amazing though, really nice and frosty, densely packed and sticky. I think this smoke is going to be really good once it's cured up. >> EARLY SMOKE << A little more rushy than I expected, I only smoked a small amount but initially quite a good head high that quickly went to a mushy relaxation. Quite balanced overall but quite hard hitting. I'm excited about this one after a cure. >> FINAL THOUGHTS << I loved everything about this plant. Thanks very much for Fastbuds for the Tester. An absolute simple grow from start to finish, always looking healthy and just shooting up no matter what training I did. I will absolutely grow this again without hesitation. Next time I'd be interested in topping it and seeing how she responds to that cos I think this plant may be bulletproof. And that's about that! Thanks for reading! Stay healthy, grow well! x
