I topped her at the fifth node then gave her a pint of purified water with 2 tsp molasses and a little extra water. she's looking good i cut of what looked like a little bud growing but I know it redistributes the hormones in the plant and makes it bushier instead of growing straight up like it would on its own, so it's better for the plant and it doesn't hurt her. I am open to suggestions! thanks for reading! ~Krissy
It can range from incredibly simple (zero effort practically) to supremely complex/annoying (depending on conditions, intentions and whatnot).
Personally, I don't bother topping or stressing plants, as I like to observe what they do (particularly if I'm unfamiliar with the strain/plant, which is most of the plants I grow) and I don't need to maximize yield and that sort of thing, they also get more than enough circumstantial stressors (since I do random stuff, grow them outdoors, even in winter). Besides, if you grow like 14ft plants, yield is usually not a big concern. But methods like topping are certainly justifiable/useful, depending.
I *think* your plant is REALLY struggling for light there (to some extent some nutrients, because of that mostly) judging by the feature sizes, stretching, thin stem.
Cheers, best of luck with your growing.
Thank you everybody! I got inspired by reddit and saw the benefits of growing your own and how proud everyone is of their home grown, i am looking forward to feeling that. I have given away the rest of my seeds in the pack to my girl friends to basically start a homegrowers group out of my friends. I think we'll do great and i'm looking forward to enjoying each others grow in a smoke sesh. So, I gotta make sure these girls succeed lol i'll keep yall posted more, we are getting more growth progress now!
