I popped 8 seeds straight into soil, kings mix to be exact. Left in a propagation tray/dome on a heat mat.
Hopefully all 8 pop.
After 2 days the left side had all popped out of the soil.
The right side is a bit slower to start. The front 2 are out, but the back 2 still haven't popped.
Day 5 and I'm only waiting on one seed to break the surface. I have a feeling it's a dud thou. Only time will tell.
The babies are looking good. The last seed didn't pop so I'm going to leave it off to the side, I've had seeds pop almost a month after planting so maybe later she'll come out.
The ladies are 7 days old but starting week 1 of veg.
There isn't really a plan for this grow, just a hunt for a mother, after about 3 weeks of veg I'll pull clones and flower them in a different tent to see how each plant develops.
From there I'll decide which to keep as a mother.
The other plants will go outside for an outdoor grow, And maybe keep 1 to flower indoors.
I transplanted at the beginning of the week, but day 10 from seed.
GHS had both the biggest and smallest plant in the tent.
The ladies look happy, praying. Most are about 2.5 inches tall working on their 4th node.
GHS #1 is working on the 5th node, ghs #2 is barely on the 3rd node.
Seedsman B is the tallest at 3.5 inches.
3 of the seedsman W.W. are showing some discoloration. I've heard people say it's the beginnings of tobacco mosaic virus but I don't think I've ever had that before.
Bugs maybe? I'll be spraying them at the start of next week for pest just to be sure. For now I'm going to separate them a tad bit.
Start of week 3 and the ladies are going strong. They are all about the same size, with one of them being 2 inches taller than the rest.
I plan to transplant some time at the end of the week.
Posted some pics for the time being, have some things I need to get done. I'll update more thoroughly at a later date. But the ladies are growing fast.
So I transplanted a bit later in the week than I would of liked, 420 got the better of me and I got lazy.
The ladies went from a .5 gal pot to a 3 gal pot.
Due to the bigger pots 2 plants are getting left outside, the tallest and the smallest. The other 5 are about the same size with GHS #1 being a node ahead in growth than the others.
The ladies look borderline N tox. I think I amended the soil a bit heavily, but other than that they look healthy. No problems yet, just the occasional low humidity due to my humidifier running out of water in the middle of the night. I cut a few leaves at the bottom of all the plants while transplanting to make it easier to water.
So this week I hit the ladies with a heavy-handed round of defoliation. It's been about 3-4 days since I transplanted and the ladies were looking like they bounced back nicely. They should be able to recover in a few days. At which point I'll top them as well to get some stretch from the lower nodes.
So it's 3 days later and I went ahead and topped the ladies, i posted a before and after pic.
This week the ladies should be getting defoliated again, and hopefully I'll take some clones this week as well.
The outcasts, not to be confused with OutKast have served the purpose of showing me that the daylight hours outside are enough for the ladies NOT to flower.
That means that at the end of the week the ladies will probably get transplanted again and transferred outside as well. That will leave the tent free to grow out the clones I take for a few weeks and flower them to see which lady is going to be my mother.
Day 6 of the week and I transplanted the ladies into 5 gal buckets and watered, but I have not taken the clones yet. They looked like they needed it too, the Roots were cramped and starting to come out of the drainage holes.
So this week started with a quick defoliation, and I went ahead and pulled some clones as well. The 2 ladies in the back are the ones that well out 2 weeks prior (or was it last week 🤔)
They are 34" and 28" with the indoor ladies being 16" tall. All the ladies were left with 12 nodes (6 pairs)
Each lady had 4 clones that I'm going to flower, for a total of 20 clones.
If all goes well I'll be doing a sea of green with the clones. I was thinking 2 week veg should let them fill out a bit.
I'll be posting pics of both the ladies outdoors and clones to show the momma's.
