Sticky Spring

AleElle The first week went by without any particular problems. I moistened the substrate with a few drops of pure filtered water and kept the seedling sheltered for the first 3 nights under a small homemade greenhouse. The weather and temperature, very spring-like for the first 5 days, worsened in the last few days, as often happens at these latitudes this time of year. I will continue this way for the next week before starting to feed it with some Bio rooting solution.

AleElle We had started with almost summer, but then winter's last gasp hit us. The temperatures dropped by at least 5°, both the maximum and minimum: it's the result of entire days without ever seeing the sun, with strong winds and high humidity. As usual, after 14 days I revitalized the substrate by watering it with the rooting solution: when it's completely dry, I'll switch to BioBizz BioGrow.

AleElle Another week lacking in satisfaction on the weather front: widespread cloudiness, still cold winds from the sea, high humidity, and cold at the first light of day. The few glimpses of sun are quite spring-like, but they aren't enough to trigger precise watering times. The substrate isn't completely dry yet from the previous watering with rooting agent, next week will be more or less like this one... We'll see whether to continue with the rooting agent or start giving the BioBizz Fish Mix, we're not too far from the fateful 10cm height... For now, everything seems to be going well: the plant looks healthy and strong enough, what do you think?

AleElle This week I started practicing LST. I want to try to complete "the circle of life" by giving the plant a spiral shape. I don't know how it will go and where I can really get with an autoflowering, but it will be experience to use with photoperiods as well (waiting for germination). I put a small piece of electrical cable sheath, covered with masking tape, to preserve the stem during the first bend. The second and third anchor points were placed a node apart to allow the leaves to find the best position and "transmit" it to the future branches. So far everything seems to be going well, except for this constant cloudiness that slows down growth, nutrient absorption, and moisture in the substrate. Let's wait for the sun to come, the real one, to really see the results.
