5/15/2018 - Week 9 is beginning, getting excited for the end now-but still trying to bulk this thing up. It has worked out so that she has started week 9 but has only JUST had a bubble watering thus far. I've filled in the nutes i'll be using above, but isn't expected until tomorrow afternoon at the earliest. I've moved offices and thus the grow tent, and I had a huge number of heat/humidity related issues because i was in a whole new part of the house. I think i've finally got it under control and boy is it working better. I'm able to consistently keep the room, via AC, at 72 which keeps the tent at roughly 77-79. Few questions for anyone strolling by: 1) since this is my first grow i'm checking to determine when the resin starts being produced heavily. I started looking through my loop and digital microscope at store bought to get a good comparison of at least what i'm trying to look for. No worries finding what i'm looking for-but i only notice hairs (presumably resin glands that have not matured?) with no "heads"/resin to them. Am i correct? 2) i've read from on some forums the term "frosty buds", coming from old-timer-gurus, that are achieved better with cold humidity. How would one specifically provide a colder humidity without causing a reaction to the overall temperature? Either way-this is just for my knowledge as i'm super "green" at it hardiharhar ;)

When should LST begin-and, being my first grow-i'm a bit unsure how to begin, does anyone have any recommendations for LST on the plant as it sits? Or any tips on when/how i should?

My fan leaves are starting to yellow from bottom up-the first node has already browned and fallen off. They should slowly yellow right-during flowering, or is this a deficiency?

Absolutely nothing to worry about. You've said it yourself, its older growth thats affected and yellowing which is normal as your plant uses up its food in its stores (leaves). The light isn't reaching the bottom growth of your plant therefore photosynthesis for the older growth is no longer occurring. The only time you would worry about leaf yellowing is if it was the new growth, then this would indicate a problem. I see you're still giving it veg nutes which is correct for the first 3 weeks of flower which is the only time you will need to be giving it the doses of nitrogen to support the plants vertical growth, after that you can gradually cut it out completely as it can hinder and slow down your plants bud growth, don't get me wrong you can still use it but it wont give you optimal bud growth which is what you want for flowering. So no, you don't have a deficiency in my opinion. Give your girls a bit of LST to open her up and get as much light through as possible as its critical if you want to see a nice yield come harvest day. I would also drop your humidity unless you want mold forming on your buds, 65% RH is way too high for flower. You want it in the range of 30-40% to minimise risk of mould and to see some nice trichome production. Do a bit of your own research also if you're not sure, information is easy to find. But yeah optimal RH for flower is 30-40% and even less in some cases in the last few weeks of flower. Good luck.

Don't worry about "cold humidity" or anything like that. Since you're a beginner no need to try and get too fancy and "love you're plants to (actual)death". You want good frosty nugs then just pick out the right strand. Looks like you're doing a great job right now bud. The lady looks healthy and good color. Just remember, stick to the basics. Good luck my buddy!! ✊🏻✌️🏻

@@Athos so i must have input it incorrectly-my pen shows EC at 14 (i suppose the alternative would be what 0.14 or 0.014?) which is probably where i screwed up. PPM was 28 as it was just bubbled water. I'll update to reflect, now that i've given the nutes.

I made a nice discovery last night. i thought it was odd that a 440cfm 6" extraction fan, 4" carbon filter, wouldn't keep my 2x4x5' tent cool. temps as high as 86 so far. last night I tried opening up another I let for air and boom. all my temps, within minutes, equalized and lowered. it seems app last night, fan speed controller turned all the way down she sat at 79 :)

tried my hand at the FIM technique as suggested. hopeing I did it half way right, although I'm still curious about the LST.
