Pretty simple first week! Seed took 3 nights for the taproot to pop and it was planted in its final pot on day 4. On day 6, it finally popped through the soil and on day 7 the little sprout is starting to grow up. There is a small piece of seed casing left attached. Going to leave it for a day or two. If it doesn't fall off, I'll do it myself.
Thanks for stopping by! 🥦
Day 8 -Sweet Caroline is off to a strong start. She's standing straight up and looking good.
Drip watering and giving the odd mist to the bottom of the tent to keep humidity up.
Day 9 - managed to get the seed casing off with some tweezers, without any damage.
Day 10 - Fed 1 cup of nutrient solution.
Ph:6/PPM:433/Temp:19.5c
Day 12 - Looks great. Keeping a close eye on heat/humidity/light stress. The pot is currently on a milkcrate. Once it gets a bit bigger, will move to the floor and adjust the light pulleys to maintain 21" distance from the plant for the remainder of the grow.
Day 14 - First true leaves coming in nicely and more on the way. Plant is looking great.
Thanks for stopping by!! 🥦
Great week. Leaves are growing in with beautiful symmetry.
Day 15 - fed 1 cup of straight H20 with a pH of 6.
Day 17 - Adjusted the fans, as humidity was getting a bit high. On my last grow, I didn't get the exhaust fan until halfway through. It's a dream having the ability to controll my environment at this stage.
Day 20 - Fed 1 cup of nutrient solution.
Ph:5.8/PPM:500/Temp:21C
Day 21 - Sweet Tooth is looking beautiful. Over the week, she grew from 2" to 4" and seems to be holding up to the nutrients well. Next week, I'm expecting big growth, and I will start tying down for some LST. I expect the light will become too much soon, as it is getting closer by the day, so I will also consider dropping the plant off the milkcrate soon and putting her on the floor.
End of week 3!
Thanks for stopping by 🥦
This week started with Sweet Tooth showing lots of new growth, and little-to-no noticable deficiencies.
Day 24- first training session. Performed initial LST bending. Plant snapped back up within the day
Day 25 - fed a cup of clean water. PH:5.9 T:19°c
Day 27 - more LST. Really want to pump my bud production with proper canopy maintenance this grow, so I'll be getting these in as much as I can without hurting the plant.
**She is also starting to show first signs of flowering.
Day 28 - fed 2 cups of week 4 nutrient solution, but added a little extra bloom and cal-mag, because it's pretty much week 5 at this point, so I modified my amounts with that in mind.
PH: 6.04 PPM: 510 T:18.3°c
End of week 4! Sweet Caroline is looking great. Showing a little bit of yellowing on the tips of a few sets of leaves, so I raised the light up and will watch to make sure it's not anything else. (Not too worried though)
On to week 5.
Thanks for stopping by! 🥦
Week 5 was a low stress week with great results.
Managed to squeeze in a couple feedings and a couple training sessions. The sweet tooth is responding very well to training sessions, which is allowing me to manipulate the canopy with great ease. I use a small tent, so it's important to be diligent early, or it will just get out of control with leaves and wasted space.
Day 31 - removed milkcrate, put pot on the floor and adjusted the light accordingly.
Day 35 - fed 2 cups of nutrient solution.
PH: 6.04. PPM: 423. T: 19.6°c
Not a whole lot to report this week. She's looking great. The yellowing on the tips doesn't seem to be getting worse and now I'm just waiting to see how much she stretches.
On to week 6.
Thanks for stopping by! 🥦
Pretty simple week! Continued with LST. Getting the canopy evened out nicely. Seeing lots of potential bud sites popping out. Gaining confidence that this will be a good harvest!
Day 36 - The smell is starting to get heavy. Opening up the tent for a few seconds, stinks up half of the house. 😆
Day 38 - fed 3 cups clean
PH: 6 T:19.5°C
Day 41 - 5th time bending the Sweet Tooth Auto. Might get one more. Stems are starting to get tough, but on this grow, I'm trying to get a feel for how far I can push these things, so I'll probably go one more, if I think it will be productive. At the very least, I will definitely be doing some slight modification to lower and smaller branches that may be fruitful down the road.
Day 42 - looking like next week will be the start of the flower period. Which means it's time for a stretch! Curious to see how big she's going to get. Currently looking 💪💪
Fed 4 cups of nutrient solution.
PPM: 380 PH:6 T: 21°C
Continuing on with pushing the plants: after comparing different feeding schedules, I'm considering upping the dosage on a few nutrients as we move further into the grow. My TDS levels are rather low, so I feel there's room to move around a bit.
Good week! In the coming weeks, I will be mostly paying attention to how much water she's taking in, and how the lights are effecting her, as the Phlizon board is strong and torched the leaves a bit on the last grow. Now that the plant is on the floor, I'll be seeing what distance is needed from the plant, to keep the light running at full strength. It's currently at 21" and 80% power. As the plant stretches, I will be changing these variables and testing the results.
Thanks for stopping by! 🥦
Flower is in full effect.
Day 43 - LST just to pull some little stuff up into the light.
Day 44 - 3 cups clean
PH: 6 T:20°C
Day 45 - lots of bud sites starting to explode
Day 46 - seeing some yellowing tips with brown spots like last grow. Positive that the light is getting to them. Moved light to 23"
Day 47 - 6.5 cups of nutrient solution
PH: 6 PPM:479 T:20°C
Day 49 - bent down the main cola because it was creeping up too high and I didn't want it to burn. It was really nerve-wracking. Thank God it didn't snap. Opened it right up too! So many bud sites on this plant. Getting excited.
Thanks for stopping by! 🥦
Another solid week. Sweet Caroline is performing quite well.
Day 50 - did some mild defoliation, just to fit things in the tent well and let some light hit some bud sites (3-4 leaves)
Day 51- 4 cups of clean water
PH: 6 T:19.5°C
Tips don't seem to be getting much worse and are staying contained to the sets of leaves they showed up on.
Day 52 - a little more defoliation (3-4 leaves). As I've mentioned previously in this journal, I'm trying to get a feel for how much I can push the plants on this grow, and what effects them in different ways, so I'm trimming a bit more off than usual, but still I'm remaining conscious of how much.
Day 53 - tucked some leaves and turned the lights up to 90%. I really want to push these buds, so I'll be trying it out at 100% soon enough. Will watch in the coming days to see how they react.
Day 54 - Runoff Test.
12 cups of nute solution to 20% runoff.
Added an extra 1/8tsp micro than planned.
Added an extra 1/4tsp bloom than planned.
Going in:
PH:6 PPM:400 T:20°C
Coming out:
PH:6.2 PPM:800 T:20.5°C
I find draining to runoff leaves my pots soaked for too long and I prefer them not to be, so I only plan to do it this once untill I stop using nutes in the later weeks. I'm happy to see these numbers, so I will continue forward as planned.
Day 55 - Minor defoliation (3 leaves that couldn't be tucked) to uncover some bud sites that I like.
Day 56 - Buds are coming in reeeaaal nice!
End of week 8
Thanks for stopping by! 🥦
Another great week!
Sweet Caroline looks to have stopped stretching and some buds are starting to form, so I'll be holding off on doing anything more than feeding her for a while. Might still trim the odd leaf, but probably only if it's dead.
Day 57 - Light's at full power now. I want to ensure that im not burning her, but I want to maximise growth potential as well, so I'll be keeping an eye to see how she handles it.
Day 60 -
Fed 6 cups clean
PH:6 T:21°C
Day 61-
Did a little bit of defoliation where some leaves had died off at the bottom. Took a bunch of the ties off from previous LST. The tent was getting full, so I repositioned some things for better light distribution. Also took a runt I had been growing out of the tent and into the backyard to give Sweet Caroline more room to breathe.
Day 63-
Fed .75 gallon of nutrient solution.
PH: 6.01 PPM: 500 T:20°C
Doubled up on the Micro and the Bloom, as my schedule for the week seemed a little lite.
Overall, I'm happy with the Sweet Tooth Auto so far. Smells great, looks like she will produce a solid amount and hasn't really given me any issues. Excited to see how she turns out.
Thanks for stopping by! 🥦
