This was a week of transition. First, I transplanted to 3 gallon smart pots from 4 inch starter pots. A couple days later, after the plants showed no stress from being transplanted, I added LST clips to begin forming a more horizontal canopy. At that point, stress was more apparent. Two or three fan leaves per plant yellowed and dried up; I pruned them and am watching others that are lightening slightly. I continued the same nutrient regimen (Mills light week four feeding schedule), diluting them 50 percent when watering and alternating nutes and plain water every other day. After realizing the soil pH was 5.6 on Friday (yesterday), I adjusted the water and nutes to 6.5 and began slowly increasing the soil pH. At last reading, it was 5.8. I’ll continue increasing until it settles nearer 6.5. All three plants seem okay, despite the minor stress. The White LSD Auto seems more “scraggly” after LST. I’m watching — and hoping — she begins filling out this week. I will add more LST clips to the Durban Poison and Jack 47 this week as they grow to make their canopies more horizontal. Depending on the growth, I will add netting to support the canopy as it fills in. I have added Recharge microbials to the nutrients and will continue with alternating nutes and plain water this week. Depending on how the plants respond the next two weeks, I hope to switch the lights to a 12/12 schedule to begin the flowering process for the Durban Poison and Jack 47.

Grow Questions

These 3 seeds (of 12) germinated March 19-21; I transferred them to coco coir/perlite soil under 40W full-spectrum grow lights I also use for garden vegetable seedlings. Lights are on 16 hours; off 8 hours, and the seedlings have barely grown in the last 10 days. Is this normal?

U should keep your lights on longer try 18/6 or 20/4 I use the 18 on 6 hours sleep during veg, seem a bit small but still look good

I believe two of the plants developed minor leaf burn. One has white streaks on the middle and outer portions of several leaves, and the other has a rust, reddish stripe parallel to the center of several leaves. I’ve attached pictures above. Thoughts are greatly appreciated.

The Durban Poison and Jack 47 are very dense, with tight nodes. I’m beginning LST this week to get more light to more of the branches, but should I prune some of the excess foliage? If so, how do I decide what to remove? Thanks in advance for your help!

Removing healthy leaves will just reduce your plants ability to produce energy, thereby slowing growth and potentially leading to smaller plants too. Your plant needs all her healthy, green, energy producing leaves to do their job so she can grow her fastest and biggest. I too would be inclined to wait with any LST until they are settled in their new, larger homes. Hope this helps,.......... Organoman.

Any suggestions on what’s happening with this plant? After a few bumpy weeks treating thrips and getting the soil pH adjusted to 6.5, my Jack 47 plant produced new growth that appears like this. I’ve supplemented with Cal/Mag and flushed the roots. Feedback is welcome.

Oh sorry, didn't see you already did half of that (the calmag and semi-flush)... Still, I'd recommend some epsom salts/sulphur and even a bit more calcium(especially if you use more epsom salts) along with a general feed (even like molasses and kelp, something that has varied elements but at fairly safe levels). And just maybe, a bit of citrus juice or citric acid (as it can chelate and improve nutrient uptake).

Looks like you got SERIOUS toxicity issues there. Lay off whatever nutes (unless they are VERY mild and quite general, like not just NPK shit, some microelements, etc). And then, I'd recommend a little calcium, epsom salts (mainly for the sulphur, but so that it kinda goes with the calcium) and potentially a tiny bit of boron. But this is very speculative, just trying to mention sort of mostly safe, potentially buffering things. You'd have a better idea of the pH and shit.

She is looking hella stressed. i think with all the issues you have been having she is reacting to the treatments she has been having. Just give her some tlc for the nxt couple of weeks and she will bounce back. Good luck and happy growing

@Tom6667, hey! I'm jaypp now ;) I think the plants have hungry. They need some of cal-mag in every watering to get a nice green colour. They seem to be attacked by some insect, maybe thrips? I'll keep passing by, all the best!
