April 23: still too cold to put plants out so I’ll hold off on transplanting until the weather improves. These plants will ultimately be going directly in the ground. April 28: lights out foliar spray with LAB, FPJ, and potassium silicate. April 29: a bit risky with low overnight temps still of concern, but I decided to plant out based on a couple of nice days with good enough weather after that.

May 14: morning looking really good for a change. High sodium well water is a killer and plant looks much better today. May 16: foliar spray at end of day(LAB, FPJ, calnesium, soap). May 17: looks great in morning. May 19: cold overnight at 0 C. Foliar spray at 11 am. May 20: cold again at about -1 C last night. Foliar spray at 7 pm (LAB, FPJ, soap, silicate) and then warmed water at 9:30 pm before being covered for the night. Forecast low is -4 C but I doubt it will be that low. This has been an unusually cold mid-May here. Some plants are definitely being affected by the cold and small for their age, but they’re almost all still growing and will pull through once summer arrives.

Very hot. Plants still growing fast despite the heat. ATF here grew 3-4 inches in 2 days. June 28: super hot historic heat wave happening. No foliar last night. Morning foliar of soluble kelp extract, Epsom salts, WSC, fish fertilizer and soap as a wetting agent. June 30: still super hot hitting 36 C yesterday and today and likely again tomorrow.

Sep 9: still minimal mass to those flowers. It wasn’t clearly flowering like the other three when I stopped the force flowering and maybe it’s doing a bit of re-vegging before getting down to actual flowering.

Oct 7: frost last night. Oct 8: harder frost last night. Will leave this going to see how it does. Also the buds are still pretty minimal so I think it wasn’t fully flowering after 14 days of forcing back in late July. Oct 11: she’s definitely done now. It seems to take a day or two for frost damage to really show up as it wasn’t cold last night. Four nights in a row below zero seems to have been too much. Oct 14: finally got around to chopping. Buds nowhere near done. This plant wasn’t fully flowering after forcing in late July and I guess this “re-vegged” without getting serious about flowering. Oh well, hash it is anyway.

Plant wasn’t flowering fully after forcing in late July. Other photoperiods were fine after 14 days with 12 hours of darkness but this ATF re-vegged instead of flowering properly. Could have been awesome with a longer season but not here this year.

Promising plant but it ran out of time. I force flowered it the last two weeks of July along with other photoperiods. They all flowered after two weeks but this ATF re-vegged after forcing and never got serious about flowering. Could have been great but not this time.

@Mr_Horse, not sure for this ATF. This was the last one to flower when I forced it in late July and it’s further from harvest than the other three (Golosa, 11Roses and Unknown Kush). Likely 4-6 weeks I think which means just barely done before freezing weather starts. Fingers crossed.

@Zorachus, thanks, yeah I think this one and my three early versions from Delicious seeds should be pretty good. I now know force flowering is worth it this far north (Edmonton) so I’m planning to force these around 1 July so they ripen under strong sunlight. I did two Wonder Pie last year and the forced plant had much better buds. Cheers.

Hei! It's nice to see that someone else is using KNF "technics". Why don't you make your own liquid calcium as well with eggs and vinegar? Do you use vinegar to adjust pH or for other purposes? I'm gonna follow this one! Good luck!
Northern_Ent
Northern_Entcommented4 years ago
@GardenOfTheRisingSun, also in knf these things are intended to be used as foliar sprays but they can also be used for watering.
Northern_Ent
Northern_Entcommented4 years ago
@GardenOfTheRisingSun, I believe that you can mix them together but I also seem to be overdoing it. LAB allows you to cut back on fertilizers in general. And with autos one might want to cut back further compared to photos. Fast Buds has a blog entry about using FPJ and FFJ but they don’t talk about LAB at the same time. My plants seem to really like the LAB and the first FPJ I made (I called it dandelion greens but the weed was actually stinkweed or field pennycress) likely helped get through the cold weather by providing P, but I’m also seeing signs of excess P. One mistake I’m making is that I intended to use a super soil grow method and have since switched to LAB. I need to cut way back on the nutes for a while and flush some of the excess nutrients from the soil mix before planting. It’s possible that LAB is all that’s needed and that is what is suggested on the Paramount seeds website. The vinegar is part of Korean natural farming methods and helps provide the right pH. Probably a neutral pH is best for the foliar sprays and my source water is basic and needs the vinegar. So, it’s tricky getting it right the first time but I’m sure it will be great once it gets dialled in. Good luck.

@Northern_Ent, do you mix the ingredients when watering? For example can LAB, FPJ and vinagre go together?
