Welcome to the first day of cloning!
Mother plant was 1 of 2 Hash passions. I was reaaaaal lazy let the other die due to lack of water, this one though luckily turned female (they were reg. seeds). Been alive for probably... 3 months.
I fuckin love bubble hash, it's the bees knees. So yea, popped these to see how well they'll make bubble hash.
They will just be growing in my perpetual (There is a Grow Diary for that on my profile you can see with many varieties and 20+ plants).
Once clones root and are planted in pot (half gallon pot) they'll do 3 weeks, transfer to 1 gallon if they're growing well enough, then into flower by 4th or 5th week of veg.
Doing lots of topping, i dont have lots of vertical, but tons of horizontal space.
4 clones sans roots so far.
Why such massive clones? I dunno, felt like it. I want to learn the plant, doing things like this lets me gauge her likes and dislikes.
Next Update is either: If 1 dies, or if 1 shows roots and is transplanted.
Once all 4 are transplanted, veg week will begin and this diary will have regular updates.
For now this diary will only be updated in probably 7-10 days from now. It's more a place-setter for the grow, and since I have time right now, i'll do it before I forget or just get lazy.
---- April 14 ----
And we wait and we wait and we wait and we wait...
And we wait and we wait some moreeeeee.
Anyways. 48 hours no change. don't expect anything for 7-10 total days but here's some pics.
---- April 16 ----
4 days in, no major change for good or bad. Still in transition phase. 3-6 more days before I expect any form of movement of leaves back skyward or growth showing root wise
---- April 19 ----
7 days in they're too wet this morning so out of the dome they go and into the normal veg area to dry off naturally so we don't mold.
I expect roots to show by day 10, but will not rush it and only kill the clones if they rot away or leaves show quickening signs of death.
Currently all 4 are still in limbo without any major structural changes or movements to the stem or leaves.
One aspect to consider is with the peat pellet being so wet for 7 days, the roots might not need to have grow far, but rather just be getting larger in circumference. Why waste nutrients growing further out if foods right there it now. I'd expect the plant to turn back towards the light more if it was done the stem cell root creation portion of cloning, so i'll be looking for this signal in the clones and not just visible roots.
If any of the weepy 3 turn skywards, I know we're only a day or two away from roots showing soon as they deplete the peat pellet centers water supply (they're very very wet ).
IF for some reason the peat pellets fail I'll quickly do them in the rockwool cubes, thats easy as hell, and i'll get back to trying to master peat pellet cloning. But again in my ramble right now, peat pellets just take a bit longer in my opinion so I'm not worried.
Update over , not a new one coming for a couple days. Check perpetual grow diary for new changes until roots show on Hash passion clones.
---- April 24 ----
Started new clones in rockwool cause its a lot easier.
Veg should start soon.
The Hash passion are third from the left .
3 of em.
- May 2 -
For anyone keeping tabs on this. God damn stupid plants aren't cloning. I'm guessing temps. Normally they do fine but I do them upstairs where its like 5+ Celsius more... so got a heat mat on them last night before lights off in flower room.
this grow diary isn't done, its just waiting on roots. and I'll keep going till it damn well happens,
Currently at 6ml/l cloneX (consistent amount for rooting) day like 5 or 6 for cubes.. I'm praying for roots in 48 hours.
- May 4 -
1 of 3 hash passions can pick up the rockwool block when i lift it.
The other 2 I dont think will clone, I left them and made 3 new hash passions today.
Week 1 will start soon as the one rooting shows roots at bottom of rockwool. Within 48 hours max i'd wager.
- May 8 -
Soooo sloooooooow. But here we go!! white root tip seen on 1 hash passion FINALLY...
next feeding i'm rampin up the cloneX to 8mL a liter to see if that helps. currently at 6.
Wedding cake and Crit + 2.0 are rooted fully, so it also means my seed of hash passion is just harder to clone.
If this does remain true throughout my further testing of cloning of Hash Passion, unless the plant blows me the hell away i'll be chucking the mother plant into the flower chamber without caring about saving genetics cause it's too much of a pain and too slow for my perpetual.
Will still be doing a full run through though, so this Grow Diary will go all the way to harvest, but It most likeyl won't be done over and over again in my perpetual grow due to this cloning hassle.
--- May 09 ---
Okay so quick update today, two rooted through. Third has shown roots poking.
Once that last ones ready i'll kill the 3 new ones I don't need and aren't rooted.
I could have sworn I took pics, but It was just the killing of my un used clones for documentation.
When I plant the 3rd one (tomorrow most likely) I'll do a bunch of photos so this thing isn't so sad looking lol.
It says May 10 on it because I don't count the first how many hours exist in the day before the next day begins. I dont know why really, I do it with my main tent to. Plant goes into flower tent sunday night, day 1 starts Monday day 2 tuesday. etc.
---- May 10 ----
first 3 done in rockwool cubes now completed and transplanted. remaining 3 has 1 rooted but not showing (as you can see I can pick up the cube with the plant stem, means its rooted into cube even tho it doesnt poke out of bottom)
May 15
New week. Moved them out of humidity dome and heated bottom. 3 hash passions will be ready tomorrow for planting, i'll kill 1 and have 5 total hash passions to go through perpetual tent in 4-6 weeks time.
Topped them at 4th node.
May 16
Last clones are planted. next week more clones. For more info on perpetual run of hash passion check my perpetual diary. Will most likely run a dozen through in a row.
I expect 3 weeks till it needs 1 gallon pots then 2 weeks of root and new shoot development so veg will last total time 6 weeks most likely unless hash passion roots and grows quicker than what i'm used to.
- May 30 -
Oh Oh, spaghetti-O's
Okay so, I by accident watered the hash passion clones with friggin flower 850ppm feed so they got burnt.
You can actually see in which order I flushed the plants in panic, as the last 2 to get flushed (took only about 10 min to get them into flushing) got burnt hard.
They are recovering! so i'm happy but pissed I messed up. Have 2 bucket colors now 1 for veg 1 for bloom so it doesnt happen again.
Side good news - I'll be moving flower tent and taking out the table so there's more room.
The Hash Passion mom will be put into flower.... THIS WEEK!!!!!
So no more waiting on clones! Wait what? Yea that's right. Next week the mom's going into flower. I'll reveg her after harvest like I've done before and she'll become a clone only mom if her smoke does well in bubble hash.
I'll take some more pics soon.
The mom will be pruned so that'll be fun.
- June 1 -
Clones recovering. moms going into flower this weekend so letting her go janky before I give her a cut
June 13 -
Finally able to put the Hash Passion Mom in flower.
Here we grow!!!
Fed with FloraNovaGrow and liquid koolbloom with calimagic.
Clones will go into flower in 30-45 days but the mom will be the big aspect of the grow.
More photos when I have more time. busy busy.
- June 14 -
Now that I have time, i'll be recovering the issues in the clones, letting them slowly get larger.
Hash passion mom doing well in its first day of flower.
- June 16 -
Clones dealing with recovering from over fertilizing. They then got bogged down by lack of nitrogen. Fed them veg + calimagic. NExt watering is regular water.
They're slowed down due to this. They will go in when I'm happy.
Mom is doing well.
Little bit of a nitrogen/calcium issue from veg, but she was fed beautifully yesterday.
Day 21 she gets a huge haircut, thinning internals, removing lowers.
Hash passion showing beautiful sativa leaf structures. So buckle up buckeroo's because If i'm making hash from this biatch she's going to be going probably.. fuck 80 + days?
The 91 krypt right now is at day 74 and its a sativa still not showing any amber trichs (wtf!?!?!) so yea. Looong wait. expecting 12-15 weeks flower total.
But what does that mean?
Hopefully:
Face rippin' couch locked giggles of bubble hash.
Time will tell!
*Edit*
Why's the lower leaves drooping?
I dunno. I transplanted when she was dry as fuck, fed, then stuck her into a tent messing her up. Should have popped them up. but lights changed, does her genetics/biology tell her to shed useless leaves or leaves not needed now that more powerful light is getting soaked up at the top ? (Don't forget Auxin is a powerful hormone folks!)
In the end i'm not worried.
I expect currently she's growing roots, and within a week will recover fully.
- June 18 -
She's doing well. Starting to produce pistils.
June 20th was first day of this weeks flower.
- June 21 -
Hash passion clones still struggling a bit. I'll be watching closely as they dry from last watering and either do a no fert watering, or just cal/mag @6.4pH 1ml/L.
They have been stunted in growth, they should be much bigger by now. Luckily I have lots of time now that the mom is in flower hah!
Hash passion mom throwing out pistil bud sites really fast now.
Stretch has been about 1 digit length for a normal person, i got long fingers so it's knuckle to a bit over next knuckle lol.
Today is day 8. About another 10 days of stretch possible, plenty of room if she does though but the node length's as she grew higher have quickly shortened.
Day 21 of flower I will be pruning her.
June 27
New week begins and Day 15 is half way through.
Day 21 (July 3) Hash Passion gets a haircut!
Clones are recovering, some are stunted.
Next watering for clones is straight water.
800-1000ppm 6.4pH CaliMagic FloraNova Bloom and Liquid Koolbloom on Hash passion in flower
-June 29-
The bud size of Hash passion is friggin massive for its age. The Wedding Cake put in on the same day is a frigging joke compared to it.
Hash passion might be a big winner, we will see.
July 4-
I'll add more writing tomorrow or later today
Hash Passion mom started producing balls. Hermied.
Looked at bulb, it's flickering. New one tomorrow. no other plant has hermied "Yet"
Now going to let "some" pollen survive and pollinate.
I've got tons of genetics, but i'm low on bulk.
Going to try for couple thousand self fertilized Hash Passion seeds with untouch bud to use in hash.
Will us Hash passion pollen on probably my wedding cake, 91 krypt hash pheno and also the crit +2.0 for shits n giggles cause I need seeds.
- July 7 -
Pollinated bud has the pistils wilt within 24 hours. extremely helpful at telling where the buds been pollinated. It's extremely distinct.
Plants doing very well, much thicker than the wedding cake who went in at same time.
Deep spice earth smell, very unique hard to describe so far.
About 10 flowers left to open to harves pollen from. Looks like Hash passion has stopped producing male balls.
*update*
Pollinated 4 budsites on hash Passion today on top of the one already pollinated.
Will watch pistils for wilt over next 24hours.
Once Hash passion has finished producing male flowers, I'll check all buds to see which got pollinated, and then if not enough have i'll use lower buds for seed production with extra pollen.
Pollinated Wedding cake 4 bud sites.
- July 11 -
Day 28, it says 27 in perpetual grow but I couldn't count.
Tomorrow is beginning of week 5.
So Hash Passion is a deep indica that will only take 50~ days.
Great bud structure so far, very little leafing, I feel like the bud sites are going to explode around day 40 till finish.
It also smells.... FUCKING INCREDIBLE.
Some like ANCIENT deep spice. reminds me of an earthy, nutty, foreign incense spice. It's intoxicating. Like it brings out the ancient memories stored in my DNA of times long past in my ancestors times exposed to it so much it retains that "Oh I KNOW THAT!" feeling without ever experiencing the smell before.
It's so far my favorite plant i've grown to date. The Hash Passion is so far a major winner, about 30 days left since I almost always draw out the finish time to make sure I get 80% + cloudy trichs. I'm hoping for some serious amber trichs on this lady to produce a deep body high thats relaxing and a fighter for insomnia.
- July 12 -
Hash passion clones went into flower cause of construction dickin' the power on and off in the middle of the night. I realized it finally yesterday, and all my timers are messed up.
What's odd is that the crit + 2.0 did not follow suit, so I think the mix of over fertilizing and stress mixed with lights flashing on and off for 10-15 min at a time at night set them off.
I'm turning off 18/6 and going to 24/0 so that hopefully power cut offs don't make it flower.
Hash passion clones should return to veg within 2-3 weeks.
They're going to take fuckin months to finally get to a normal growth rate.
Who cares tho. Day 29 Hash passion in flower. No upper buds have flowers, only lower 18 inches. still harvesting pollen. Not pollinating anymore but i am shaking lower limbs to self fertilize any negs that have deeply imbedded male flowers i can't see.
I'm okay with it cause top half should be normal bud, with bottom half mostly seed bud.
That will let me get probably couple thousand seeds, letting me run this 12/12 from seed and other fun stuff.
Hoping it finishes by day 55, genetics info says 50 but I like my trichs ambery on an Indica.
- July 19 -
New week, Day 36 if i'm counting right
Lots of seeds coming in
Sweet cashew/nutty smell. It's absolutely incredible. Never smelt this before in pot.
No actual yellowing in that side shot, the HPS light fucks with my stupid camera.
Will be harvesting around day 50-55 depending on thricomes.
Clones stuck in turning back to veg mode.
- July 22 -
My metal halide bulb is old, i think it's screwing with my grow in veg tent, those seedlings im growing are super lengthy and shouldn't be.
Replacing bulb tomorrow a.m and moving up to a 400 watt if electrical load allows it. It's a dimmer ballast 400w w/ 250.
still has that sugar cashew smell. I fuckin love it. so earthy and really foreign and unique.
The seeds are coming in nicely, you'll maybe spot some in the bud shots.
The Wedding cake X Hash passion pollination in my perpetual grow has an incredible shot of the seeds growing on the wedding cake bud posted. I can NOT WAIT to go genetics hunting with these seeds!
- July 27 -
Day .. 44! for the Hash Passion.
Seeds GALORE! I'm okay with that, I want thousands. Makes it ten times easier to grow. I have quantity for genetic selection, but not quantity for singular genetics, and switching between genetics (and therefore preferences in fertilizer) is a bitch. I want some homogenous growth periods where I can dial in the fertilizer better.
Won't start thinking of harvesting till the seeds are browning. Then i'll check trichomes.
At this current growth i'd say day 55~ will be harvest, but due to seeds (first time) it might take longer, so again, based on seed colors... then trichome cloudy/amber ratio.
Aug 7
So Day 55 the hash passion seeds were mostly spotted black and not green. Trichs were mostly cloudy and amber. very little clear. So I harvested.
I'm letting them dry for a full 7 days. On August 14th I will trim, take photos, then begin busting up the bud with gloves to see how many seeds total I got.
Will post a finished harvest to close diary around August 15th.
Perpetual will continue. Hash passion will grow again (it's why I made clone seeds. I want to dial this baby in, I fucked her up.)
Smells like sugar cashews. No joke. Friggin so cool. first time ever smelling like that on a plant for me.
Hash Passion harvested Day 55
That's a 4 foot long rubbermaid, It's deceptive in the photos.
Mom was self pollinated in 7 gallon pot.
THOUSANDS OF SEEDS!! WOOOT. Some good, some bad! I don't care I have a fuckin BOWL FULL!! i love it!
I grabbed literally 20 random seeds and put them into the paper towel germination stage.
Once they germinate, I will update the main perpetual diary with everything, and i'll update this post to include the germination rate of a random sampling (some white, some brown, some everything in between)
Germination rate at 2 days total = 70%
Extremely sweet nutty cashew. Even a tad bit earthy cream.
The hit on a Pax Vaporizer is silky smooth, it's a thick thick vapor with zero itch to cough.
Bleeds through my 23% THC 91 Krypt to overpower it.
Hits the eyes and body and you space out big time. Bed time smoke for sure.
Copied from strain info I put in above:
The Good:
#1 Smell - Sweet Cashew. Never smelt this before on pot. Its super sugary nutty cashew earthy cream. It's now the base for my breeding project searches lol.
#2 Smoke - Super silky smooth on the vaporizer retaining flavor profile in the smoke from bud smell.
#3 Finish time -Day 55 finish for hard indica effects
The Bad:
Easily hermies from pinhole light leaks
GROWTH ISN'T INDICA. The entire physical structure was sativa from leaves to buds.
These were "FREEBIES" From truenorthseedbank labelled regular Hash Passion - Canuk seeds.
Are these truly the genetics labelled? Maybe. Does Canuk keep air tight locks on their genetics? Probably not.
All I know is this exact seed was a friggin WINNER. That smells is to DIE FOR!!!! it's been used to self clone for seed and I cross bred to multiple varieties.
Would get 10/10 if the growth structure had followed the "true indica" It states it is but can't be due to sativa leaf structures.
