Updates/Observations:
Just popped above ground yesterday! Rasta Jeff of Irie Genetics and the Grow From Your Heart Podcast sent me some seeds to document and test out so here we go! I am super excited to see what these genetics and this cross is capable of. It is one of my favorite podcasts that I have been listening to for a while and I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy cannabis culture and conversation. Also you can see his plants on IG @iriegenetics.
For this grow I plan to select 9 of the best looking plants to go into my 100 gallon smart pot. Once I sex them I will cull all of the males and train the females into the holes that appear in the canopy and run my females to flower. Thanks to Tad Hussey at the KiS Organics Podcast who hooked me up with a representative at Blumat! I will have a reservoir hooked up to a bunch of Blumat soaker hoses that will keep the soil at a continuous moisture level. My goal is to grow the dankest, cleanest, medicine, as close to how nature does it, with minimal human interaction, mostly automated. In the near future my time is going to be limited so I will want to make the most of what time I have in the garden doing the stuff that I enjoy most like training or giving teas.
Final home: 5'x5' tent, HLG 320w, 100 gallon smart pot.
Suggestions welcome!
Thanks Jeff!
Cheers!

Grow Schedule to Date:
Sprout: 4/27/18
Age: Day 16 as of 5/13/18
Updates/Observations:
- I am super impressed with how evenly matched all of these seedlings are. Alphas and the rest are just beginning to shake out which makes my job tough but it is a good problem to have!
- Gave a few waterings of light Recharge but mostly just plain water.
- When I transplanted, I sprinkled some mycorhizal fungi spores in the hole to ensure tap root infection.
- Most of the transplants went very smoothly with no real soil disturbance.
- Day 14 I added a light seeding of Dutch White Clover to serve as my cover crop this run.
- Covered with straw to help with moisture retention, microbial home, carbon return, mulch layer, worm bedding layer, shade layer, etc.
- Soaked thoroughly to full wet the soil. I plan to keep it moist from here on out.
Methodology Update:
I have decided to turn this run into a quick pheno hunt and then run the winning phenotype clones into the no till bed. My plan, now that they are transplanted, is to wait about 1.5 weeks to where I can take clones. After I take and label clones from all the plants, I plan to flip to flower and identify all males. I will then cull all male plants (clones included) and finish these females out in their two gallon homes for fun, growing them naturally to assess their inherent shape and characteristics. Then, after smoking and selecting my favorite plants, I will cull down to just my favorite mother plants. From those plants I will take clones, root, and run them into the 100 gallon Smart Pot where I will finally do a full no till bed run like I have dreamed of!

Sprout: 4/27/18
Age: Day 23 as of 5/20/18
Updates/Observations:
- Some clear alphas starting to show!
- Gave the plants a few waterings of light Recharge but mostly just plain water.
- Day 23: Topped most of the plants back to their third node from about 5-6.
- Placed "tops" (clones) into solo cups filled with Light Warrior and wetted.
- Placed clones into veg tent but changed light schedule to 11/13 to find out which are males.
- Cover crop just starting to poke it's head above the straw.
- Straw helps with moisture retention, microbial home, carbon return, mulch layer, worm bedding layer, shade layer, etc.
Methodology Update:
I don't know why I didn't think of it before but I figured out how to get into the 100 gallon Smart Pot! I decided to take clones and sex them, then once I know sex, throw away all the male plants and the female clones as well, transplant the most vigorous veg plants into the pool and we are off to the races with full no till. Super excited to get into a bed. Hopefully next week I will be transplanting!

Updates/Observations:
- #1, 4, 6 have not shown male pre-flowers under inspection with loupe.
- Planted all the remaining plants into the 100 gallon bed! So glad I potted them in there and I am officially running full no-till.
- Sprinkled Mykos all over exposed roots and plant holes before transplanting.
- Chopped and dropped all pre-flower male plants and runts.
- Added lots of worms and worm castings from my compost bin.
- Mixed in neem and karanja cake as well as cricket frass.
- Planted a White Dutch Clover cover crop.
- Removed some of the lower foliage.
- Covered with a nice layer of straw and watered in with mykos and
- Straw helps with moisture retention, microbial home, carbon return, mulch layer, worm bedding layer, shade layer, and many other advantages.
- After topping I noticed all the stems were hollow. They started to show humidity stress so I looked and taped up the hole that refused to shut. They bounced back almost immediately.
Methodology Update: The Dank Pool is finally live after almost a year of planning and preparation. I am really happy to be growing in this style after the many hours I have spent researching organic farming principles and getting more in touch with nature. Pretty excited for this upcoming grow! Very happy to be running some elite genetic testers. Hope to confirm some females soon!

Age: Day 36 as of 6/2/18
Updates/Observations:
- Water and Recharge only, as always.
- #1, 4, 6 have still not shown male pre-flowers under inspection with loupe.
- Removed some of the lower foliage and any inward growing leaves that blocked nodes.
- Used plant stakes to train them out and down a bit with my goal being to fill the floor with tops before flipping to flower.
- Originally I had thought I was going to flip to flower this weekend but I think I might let them go one more week to really get their roots into this new bed.
- Today I am going to start a compost tea brew consisting of Neem cake, Karanja cake, earth worm castings, and a little kelp. No pests spotted but it doesn't matter, IPM here we go!
- I will apply the tea (diluted)as a foliar spray as well as mixed up with a little recharge as a soil drench tomorrow after at least 24 hours of brewing.

- Results of the microbial tea were great! The plants were praying up to the light a few hours afterwards.
- The girls are starting to stretch up tall!
- Joshua Tree is pretty small and with all these leggy Sativas she might need to go back to the soil unfortunately or else it is going to be difficult to get any light to her.

Flower Day Length: 11 on / 13 off
Age: Day 11 (F) as of 6/16/18
Updates/Observations:
- Water, compost teas and Recharge only as always.
- The last plant and last female of Pineapple Wine is confirmed to be trusty #4!
- She is super lanky and taking up a huge chunk of the net weaving her tops down. Probably closer to pure Sativa expression with fairly skinny leaves as well.
- Flower progression coming along nicely. She is showing pre-flowers and the beginning of the flower node cluster tops.
- Removed some of the lower foliage, non-viable tops, and any inward growing leaves that blocked nodes.
- Applied a compost tea made up of compost, neem meal, karanja cake, worm castings, Recharge, kelp meal, humic acids, cricket frass, and a little of my top soil from the no-till bed.
- Installed a scrog net which I don't normally like but for this experience it seems to be working great. I have many plants of different heights and stretches so it is helping.
- Joshua Tree is still hanging in there but it is hard to tell if it has shown female pre-flowers yet because of where it is located.

- Joshua Tree is confirmed to be female!
- Installed carbon filter and fan above light to reduce humidity and clean the air a bit.

- My clones are starting to get healthy again! Took a while but I learned a lot about cloning. Next time will be better.
- I was gifted some elite genetics pollen by a friend so I pollinated a branch on each plant! Excited to see what she looks like!
Bonus: Garden in full bloom! I use earth worm castings and Recharge on all my outdoor plants and greenhouse as well.

- After my last compost tea of worm castings, neem, karanja, kelp meal, Recharge, cricket frass, they got a lot darker green and it may have been too much this late in flower. I will give them plain water for a few days to let them breathe a bit.
- She makes up about 1/3rd of the total canopy on the left side of the tent.
- For stretch I think she probably doubled in height total but without the scrog I think she might have done more. She leggy!
- Her smell is really starting to evolve from the more standard, new, sweet cannabis smell to a more pungent, funky, dank, sweet smell.
- Very frosty! She has been the fastest plant to progress through flower out of all.
- I was gifted some elite genetics pollen by a friend so I pollinated a branch on each plant.
- The seeds are beginning to form inside the calyxes and swell up. Very neat to watch side by side with an unpollinated branch.
Bonus: I left the AvT out to die a few weeks ago but she never gave up so I decided to give her a shot in the greenhouse for fun!

Updates/Observations:
- She makes up about 1/3rd of the total pool canopy on the left side of the tent.
- So this week I noticed nutrient burn just barely starting on the tips of the leaves. I will be using plain water on these girls only from here on out until I see some fade.
- On 7/12 I noticed that the leaf tips also were beginning to claw downwards displaying nitrogen toxicity unfortunately.
- She is starting to have an almost burnt rubber/skunk funk odor underneath a rotten fruit smell and it is strong! 👌
- Joshua Tree is really resinous and smells very sweet and maybe like a berry, possibly blueberry or raspberry.
- I was gifted some pollen from a male MAC2 plant and I pollinated a branch on each plant carefully, using a small paintbrush.
- The seeds are beginning to form inside the calyxes as they swell up. If you look closely in one picture you can see an immature seed. I plan to run these seeds for myself in the future for fun.

*HARVEST UPDATE!
Hi all,
So it has been about 2 weeks since I chopped these mommas and everything turned out very well! The numbers look good and the smells are starting to come back in the jar. Absolutely dank so far with hints of the growing smells as well which I am really happy about. In another 2 weeks I will hopefully be back with a smoke report. There may be some stuff coming up for me that may prevent me from updating right away but I will eventually, don't worry!

Really happy with how this grow came out. A friend helped with the photography and it was a lot of fun growing in the pool.
Big shout out to Rasta Jeff from Irie Genetics for sending me these crosses to test. Thank you! I learned a ton from his podcast and would definitely recommend it! Check out the Grow From Your Heart Podcast on itunes or Youtube!
