Nimbus21 I am completely humbled by these 2 plants. Not my first time growing but only my second time being fully in charge aswell asbeing able to check it every day and also my first time growing autoflowers and mixing my own medium starting with plain coco, some wormcasting plus the mentioned organic fertilizers.
Why am i being humbled? Well i completely f****d up the medium by, and thats what i am suspecting so far, overfertilizing it with P resulting in a Mn/Ca deficiency. I had typical symptoms e.g burned tips and edges, intercostal chlorosis and thin blades on new leaves. Also the girls were very short and bushy but since I have never grown autoflowers before, let alone these specific strains, i thought maybe it is due to the short life cycle.
So I flushed about 5 days ago for the first time but my pH-meter was not working right so I could not check pH and EC properly. I am currently waiting on my new ones to arrive.
After flushing they nearly exploded (relatively to their size prior to flushing) but still are not the biggest. Also the new groth did not show the same burned edges and tips that were apparent prior to flushing.
Anyways the brown spots (suspected Ca deficiency due to P/K overfertilization) did not completely disappeared and were expanding at a fair rate, resulting in me flushing again yesterday and now waiting for it to hopefully recover properly. I just hope that i wont get in trouble due to the immense amount of water the ladies received the last 7 days.
The pH of my tap water is, although not checked precisely, on the more alkaline side (7-8) so I am not thinking that Ca is excluded due to wrong pH.
What do you think? Could I be right or do you have something different in mind? Any help from more experienced growers is greatly appreciated!
Well as I said, I somehow should have known better. Lesson learned I guess.
UPDATE 15.04 DAS (Days after sowing) 30:
rust spots devoloping rapidly. soil pH measured SOMEHOW at approximately 5.5-5.8. Foliarapplication of algea lime 20g to soil. High NO3 and PO4 probably acidified the soil immensely. Flushing also must have washed out some alkaline components. Hopefully the foliar application will result in positive effects
