EC, PH and water temps have been stable. Water temp has gone from a low of 63, to high of 68 this week. It’s been cold outside and ambient temperature outside the tent has been as low at 40 degrees. Second FIM on the largest plant, and first FIM on the next two largest. The runt is still gaining root mass to catch up, so no FIM there yet.
After FIMing the plants I also added twist ties to begin LST. I think I stressed the plants too much and they wilted badly for 24 hours. I raised the humidity and temperature in the grow tent to see how they reacted. Plants are filling out again, but showing some damage from my pushing them around too much with LST. It may be too early to do this, but I want to keep these plants low and bushy for a SCROG. However, I quickly learned how to add LST to the plants with minimal contact. New growth around where I clipped the plants seems to be emerging with vigor.
Update 4-23: plants are bouncing back very well from LST and FIM. Took a peek at the roots and they are white and exploding in density. PPM, PH stable and water dropping.
One plant is exceptionally dark green and seems to be clawing, but I’m not sure if this is from too much N or cooler temps at night. I have not changed the water yet. I’m thinking with 50 gallons these plants have a lot to soak up in terms of nutrients before a change is needed. Water level is dropping with EC and PH stable. The girls look relatively healthy to me so far. If everything remains stable and no negative signs from the plants, I will wait to change water until they are ready to switch to 12/12
