GardenOfTheRisingSun Hello guys, I am starting my outdoor organic experiment. First I germinate 2 autoflowers: Blackberry Kush Auto and Auto Orange Bud from Dutch Passion, later on I am going to plant 3 photoperiod ladies as well: Durban Poison (Dutch Passion), Durga Mata (Paradise Seeds) and Liberty Haze (Barney's Farm), but as I don't want monsters in my garden I'll start in a couple of weeks, before the next full moon. I am using organic fertilizers as a top dressing: Guanokalong Bat Guano (and Palm Tree Ash during flowering), Seaweed (Ascophyllum Nodosum), Alfalfa meal, Fish meal and EM (Efficient Microorganisms). The same ingredients I used to make a Fermented Plant Juice as well, so I'll go slowly experimenting how that works. Planning to add some sprout tea once every two weeks for boosting the enzymes and perhaps a compost tea made of worm casting and molasses, but I don't think that is going to be necessary. In case they will need extra Ca and Mg, I'll use the eggshell/vinegar combination. I added some Diatomaceous earth to the soil for pest control and as a silica source. UPDATE: After 2 and a half days it has just popped out. Seems to want to live! Now she goes into the soil using directly the final pot. 15 L pots: 2,5 L Coco 1,5 L Worm castings 1,5 L Perlite 9,5 L Biosoil with ripen cow dung Dressing: Mychorrhiza (10 g), Alfalfa meal (1 TBLS), Seaweed (1 TBLSP), Fish meal (1 TBLSP), Bat Guano (100 g), Diatomaceous earth (40 g) Humic acid granules (20 g) After planting I watered the soil with a smooth EM mix.

GardenOfTheRisingSun So far so good... She poped out quite quickly a she seems healthy and strong. The weather is still a bit capricious even though it seems it's gonna be nice and sunny during the next week. Just to be sure, I keep her in a mini greenhouse for one more week. Wide leaves are already showing her indica origins.

GardenOfTheRisingSun The weather is beautiful, sometimes 25 degrees. She is still in the mini greenhouse to keep her safe. By the end of this week I apply the first Boom Boom Spray shower. Meanwhile I started to ferment some common vetch to make an organic fertilizer rich in nitrogen. The recipe is the one of the classic FPJ: one part plant one part brown sugar and one week of fermentation. She is going well. The 14th was the last day in the greenhouse. Now she is going "into the wild" to strenghten her stem.

GardenOfTheRisingSun The weather forecast predicts quite a cloudy week. Finally I put the ladies out to the "wilderness". This week I apply the sprouted seed tea for the first time. It is said to be an enzymatic heaven. I'm gonna use it once every two weeks. Update: As I expected: weather is really shitty this week. It might be too early to move her out, because the storms of the last days seem to affect the ladies in a not so convenient way. She was nearly broken I guess, because she was bent to the ground, but already with the stem strengthened in this bent position. Her soil is so soaked for now that the application of the sprouted seed tea may be delayed to the beginning of the next week.

GardenOfTheRisingSun This week I hope for a better weather. Once the soil can dry out a little bit, I apply the sprouted seed tea and some neem oil against that misterious little bug who has tasted the leaves of the Orange lady. For the second watering I am planning to use my own fermented juice which is made from: EM, Fish meal, Alfalfa meal, Seaweed, Molasses. Update: Watering with SST. Sprayed with diluted neem oil.

GardenOfTheRisingSun I was away for a couple of days, after coming back I just realized that she entered into the fase of flowering. It surprised me, because the plant still looks too small and I expected flowering a week later. So this week I still apply some nitrogen rich nute and then the first guano tea. Day 33 - Liquid Kelp foliar spray : I left 1 teaspoon in 0.5 liter chlorine free water for 2 days, until it got brown, then applied it in rhe morning. Day 34 - growing like crazy. Sprouted seed tea: germinated 1 teaspoon of alfalfa seeds for 3-4 days, then ground it and mixed it with rainwater and a bit of humic acid.

GardenOfTheRisingSun This week I feed her with the first potassium booster: palm tree ashes diluted in water. I am planning to use it every week. Later on I'll add the first guano tea as well. Meanwhile I prepared some Water Soluble Calcium (eggshells and vinegar) and Lacto Bacillus Serum. I am really curious about the effect of these homemade, organic potions. She seems to like all the love I gave her: foliar calcium and kelp, and watering with guano and palm tree ashes mixed with LAB and humic acid.

GardenOfTheRisingSun She seems to like these nutes. She is super healthy. Not even the lower leaves got discoloured, on the contrary now not only the flowers but the leaves are becoming purple. So this week I keep on going with the same diet: WSC, LAB, guano powder (2x), palm tree ashes and foliar Kelp.

GardenOfTheRisingSun She's not growing anymore, all her energy goes into her flowers. They smell amazing: very fruity, slightly spicy. All in all she is quite small, but I hope in the remaining 2-3 weeks she is gonna make those buds fat and tasty.

GardenOfTheRisingSun Unfortunately I committed a basic error: I was unpatient an harvested too early probably, I could have waited 1-2 weeks more. Plus probably the small size of the pots (15 liters pots not totally full, so ap. 12liter) contributed to the relatively poor harvest. I am disappointed by the quantity, but not by the quality of my nugs. The buds are beautiful and the smell is one of the bests I have ever felt: very fruity and a bit spicy.

My plants absolutely love the barley SST that I’ve given them. I’m also going to be using barley malt as a top dressing to provide nutrients at the start of flowering. So, a bit of a hybrid of KNF and organic methods using barley. Barley has a great nutrient profile for cannabis growing so it’s likely worth using along with the KNF methods. Good luck.
