This one has always been a bit of a slow grower. At first I thought it was the overly heavy starting soil, but she has never really thrived.
July 15: might be picking up the pace.
If you would like to speed up the start of your plants, they grow much faster with promix hp or nutramix hp. Peat and perlite. Feed the babies 400 ppm from sprout and increase 100 ppm every week while you see good growth. If you want to transplant to dirt their usually good and developed within 10 days to 2 weeks to go to their final home and will be much happier then a slow dirt start. Luck with your grow friend.
@GMSgrows, thanks for the comment about Pro-Mix. I did switch and I’m amazed how much better it is for starting seeds. My germination rate easily doubled compared to the lousy results I was getting before...I think my soil is too sodic for starting seeds. It’s also better during transplanting and holds together nicely despite being so light.
@GMSgrows, thanks. I added about 40% peat to the Solo cups trying to lighten the soil but it could have been even lighter. I was a bit hesitant to use a peat/perlite mix as I thought that might be tricky to transplant the autos. But whatever, I agree things are pretty slow. However, that’s likely just as well considering how fucking cold it’s been this week. My biggest problem starting plants was the high sodium well water which has since been sorted out. First year at large scale so expected problems but that was a nasty way to start. Cheers.
Happy growing! I hope you get some good results! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
