@PharmaZ, I most definitely willI 👍 she is starting to really take off...I had a slight Cal/Mag issue but luckily I caught it as it just started🙏 Soon as my soil is done cooking I'll be transplanting into a 3gal hopefully next week...Any tips on her or advice?
@PharmaZ, 🙏 Thank you so much for the input, those 2 cents are worth more than a dollar to me...and you are right I don't water to runoff and the whole drying out of the top surface is the reason why I am starting to use a living soil. Unfortunately hindsight is 20/20 and I now know that I need to have the mulch started and growing before I transplant into it.
As for a light mix I tend to make my own soil so would you recommend just a base of Peat/Compost/Aeration Aggregate or no Compost at all? Is it true that a seed has all the energy it needs for a seedling to survive on its own for the first 2-3 weeks?
Thank you for the tip about keeping the top soil moist for microbial life...I only thought about that when I was trying to inoculate some mushrooms in my other grow. And don't worry about sounding any type of way...I'm not sensitive at all...I will take everything into consideration that you have discussed with me and apply it to my grows...hopefully when I start my next batch of girls I can have a starter soil recipe, Maybe I will check BuildaSoil...anyhow would you recommend any minerals in the starter soil?
@@Trumptight420, 😊the fact is yes it looks like you are now ok!👍
I suspect the high amount of organic matter in your compost hasn’t given much space for the roots to quickly develop and fill out the pots. My advice for future...
Starting seedlings in some fresh soil a light mix.
1 bag of seed starting mix using small pots would last you a long time and you would have plants the size this one is now in 2 weeks rather than 4-5...
It’s brilliant how hardy these plants are, you’ve done well to nurse her back to health.
As a side note, calcium and magnesium deficiency show up 2 weeks after the deficiency started. And lots of times it’s actually from lockout or wrong PH not actually from the amount of cal/mag...
NPK deficiency show up on all parts of the plant top and bottom because they’re mobile nutrients
The micro nutrients deficiency show up on the upper parts of the plant on newer growth.
Just make sure you’re letting the pot dry out completely so the bottom of root zone is nice and dry also... You can spray the surface with water to keep the top a little moist and keep the microbes happy if you’re finding the soil surface is drying out much faster than the rest of the soil. Organic gardening is about getting the balance of moisture. You shouldn’t even need to water with run off if your using fully organic.
I hope you can use some of this info it just came to me as I was replying not trying to be condescending it’s hard to try and give some advice without worrying about sounding like a fool. Always here for a chat with people on growing!! it’s good to 2nd guess and look for other answers. Take care🙏👍✌️
@PharmaZ, I had an issue early on with Bokashi burning my leaves when she was a seedling...she shook that off and recovered fully. Other than that I had a slight Cal/Mag Issue this week but I caught the spotting early on and now I think I'm ok...
Hey mate, Let her do her thing for a bit now. She's still only a baby, why so early on the LST?
I'm doing Barneys Purple Punch over in my grow. I'm about a week behind you. Ill follow on 👍
