👉Week 3
Day 21 - From today a part of the led panel has stopped working, I am very sorry because the ts600 panel has 1 year of life. 😨😱
Day 22 - Start Feeding from today 2l ph 6.4
Texas Cockroaches - Different Type of Roaches in Texas
Most commonly and incorrectly called " water bugs " or " palmetto bugs," they are known
as the American Cockroaches. This roach has the longest lifespan as compared to the other roaches. The adult American cockroach can live up to 2 years and measures in the range of one to three inches.
Saw one in my spare/storage room as I was setting up the tent. White Widow #3 disappeared without a trace during lites-out on day 3 and I quickly threw WW4 into a shot glass to soak, and made nightie caps for WW1 & 2. Roaches don't like the light (I think especially coming from a Mars 600 search-light) & so far I haven't had any additional problems from it.
My 3 plants are now 9 (#1&2) and 3 (#4) days old, and the reason I (the real Newbie) am reaching out to you (now the pro), is because you are running the Mars 600 on all your grows, and could help me out regarding the lite. I bought it directly from Mars USA (NJ), think it may have been a return, and it may be defective.
This is my 1st grow, so I thought if you didn't mind, I'd run a few worries by you:
The top of my light gets extremely hot. Mars explains those complaints in Amazon reviews saying that they get mildly hot in summer but are nice and toasty in winter. I haven't set up a heat exhaust system yet, so am I unduly worried that there may be a problem?
Mars, and others, recommend that the light be set at 24” above seedlings. I had read that if it was too hot to place your hand over the plants, then the light was too close. Potential problem #2 is that I can put my hand right under the light at 1” distance, and it is not too hot. Since my sprouts were already stretching after a couple of days, I lowered the light to 18”. I then lowered it again to 13”. The stretching seems to have stopped, they've opened up several new sets of leaves and seem healthy enough. Am I just being a paranoid new dad?
Potential problem #3 – a timer for the light. A number of Amazon reviewers had timer problems when adding one to the 600. Have you had any? They may just be complaining about an $80 light when the problem is an $8 timer. I still plug and unplug daily.
I saw that ¼ of your Mars light is out. Is it more than a year old?
Finally, I wanted to say that I hope to grow some plants as nice as some of yours.
Sorry this turned out to be so long winded, and I'm not even stoned, but I am worried.
Hello! I am happy glad to be able to help you 😉
I must admit that I got along very well with mars hydro ts600, now after a year it had the little problem but I'm trying to solve it directly with mars hydro and it seems to be a serious and professional company.
I have used it very well, the temperatures have always remained good in my tent despite the fact that the lamp gets hot, in the summer I also found a further increase in the temperature of the lamp but unfortunately it is inevitable, you can add a small fan that points to it to cool it down and lower temperatures but I'm not even sure it can be an effective solution.
The distances recommended by the manufacturers are only advice, at each stage of his life MJ may need different light intensities. But everything is still conditioned by many things, including genetics, each genetics has its own characteristics and can respond differently than others.
I have never had problems with the timer, if the light does not turn off or turn on properly or even if it should be off it stays on it could also be due to your home electrical system.
I remember when I started about 2 years ago I was always agitated, full of questions and worries about plants and how to grow them.
The truth is, I learned from watching other growers and studying.
Yes, you have to study a little, you need to understand and know the soil, how it is composed, what specifics it has, etc.
It is necessary to understand how to irrigate the soil, how often and in what quantity.
It is necessary to understand that the environmental conditions that surround us influence the growth of plants, and that to get the most out of it, it is necessary to know how to manage the temperature and humidity of the air present in the tent, as well as the correct ventilation.
This is why I would like to tell you to search online for the VPD chart, look at it, and try to understand it and apply it to your cultivation.
There are so many things that can affect your cultivation that it is useless to talk about them, they are really many and every grower does not necessarily face one type of problem in the same way as the other.
Visit growdiaries, or the sites of the most well-known breeders that offer blogs and informative articles on cultivation techniques and study !!
If you want I can give you some advice, to be helped you need to create your own diary and update it frequently with the right information, so that every grower who visits it can get an idea of the situation.
I advise you to buy at least a hygrometer, a light meter (lux meter) and a ph / EC meter and .. Relax man, I was like you, but in a short time I gained knowledge but experience is gained every day, and I, like you, I am a newbie in this world. @tom_in_sa
Sorry, I just read your following comment:
“Unfortunately I don't speak / write very well in English, I have to use a translator ...”
I'm afraid I have overwhelmed both you and the translator with my comment.
I should have, and will, start a general question to the community regarding experiences with the Mars 600 light.
