All 5 seeds looked immature. Two last year didn’t germinate and will try remaining three this time.
Update: only one of five germinated. Some of that is on me, but it is a noticeably lower rate compared with other seeds.
June 20 and 22: full foliar at dusk.
Spots on leaves indicate calcium (?) deficiency.
June 24: afternoon foliar spray of Epsom salts, water soluble calcium, and fish fertilizer.
June 25: foliar at dusk (LAB, silicate and soap). Hot (28 C) and getter hotter next week...six days forecast well above 30 C so record breaking heat wave. Great, we had five days with overnight temps at or below zero five weeks ago, and now a heat wave. So these plants will have experienced a 40 C temperature range during their lifetime.
June 26: super hot 35 C and will be this hot for at least another 5 days.
July 12: pollinated several plants with either Gelato or Glue. Trippy Gorilla was crossed with Glue. Hopefully the pollen is still viable...it’s been in the fridge for several weeks.
Finally ripening and has put on some weight in the last few days. Nice sun today and that was good for trichome production on all of the plants. 😎👍
Aug 21: harvested three main colas in morning.
Nice strong indica but only one of the five seeds germinated. Not as good overall as, say, Gorilla Glue from Fast Buds.
This plant likely could have been bigger but it was hit by five days of very cold overnight temperatures in mid-May that stunted it a bit.
These seeds were a bit immature and this was the only one of five seeds that I got to germinate. It was also a bit slow compared to similar plants and I kind of doubt that the THC level is the advertised 27%.
However, despite these problems, I do like the taste and affect of the buds. So, a bit of a mixed result overall.
Weight (180 g wet and 45 g dry) is an estimate as all this material is going for hash.
Dude I hear you.
Luckily all my trippy gorilla popped. I just put four critical purple auto seeds in water 48 hours one showed a bit of tap root so I put them in paper towel damp for 36 hours still nothing. One popped. I just so happened to purchase 8 of the critical purple auto, so I took last four and put them in water, currently waiting. Then because over been thinking shelf life of seed. How long was it at seed bank how old are they already? So me being the worry wart I am , I also dropped into a glass of water my gelato auto five of them and those other criticals. I have six more trippy gorillas, I might drop them too. Basically I'm gonna order what I need instead of what I want. I've noticed shelf life is limited on some of these seeds. Anyway if you have questions on the Trippy , i hope i can help. Enjoy your grow , bro
@Sparkychris1980, either Herbies or Seedsman. I think it was Seedsman, and both shops seemed good for most seeds. These trippy gorilla seeds stood out as being immature and I put that on the breeder rather than the retailer.
@Northern_Ent, what seed bank did you get those at? I got mine from supreme seed bank, which I wont again. No problems with the trippy, but all four gelato didn't pop . I paid for gelato auto got none and homegrown seed bank which I think is supreme aswell cause packaging was the same and both used same bogus address in the states from Santa Barbara, California. Any way I think it's safe to say ILGM is the only way I'm going or if the seed bank guarantees germination. How bogus it is to pay hard earned money for bunk stuff.
@Sparkychris1980, thanks. I remember getting those seeds last year and thinking they were noticeably immature. I’ve struggled this year with germination due to a different water source that turns out to have very high sodium which is bad for seeds. But these seeds were bad and I’m lucky to get even one to go. Hopefully it’s worth it. Good luck and cheers.
@Sparkychris1980, I hope so, but I’m pretty sure it’s been dwarfed by five nights of cold temps. Will wait a bit longer on this one cuz it’s my last seed, but I’m culling other dwarfed plants and starting again.
Now that the stunting is over , I feel like she is gonna take off now. Shes just got too. Good job hanging in there and not giving up. I hope she showers you with frost and huge yield.
