Well, the Tramp is on her on her own now and has all the tent (she needs it). Still watering 1.5L every day and she is taken it all. I did a compost tea to help break down the top dressing that I gave her a week ago and give her a boost at the start of her flowering. She grew another 9 inches this week and I had to do some LST to get her away from the light a bit and open up some of the bud sites in the middle of the plant. See you next update!

To me it looks like damage caused by excess nutrient salts in the soil/substrate. If you have not been watering to run off, this is most probable, especially combined with well water, which generally is a bit salty. Unfortunately, by the time the salts build up to cause damage, the problem in the soil is well advanced. This is why watering to run off is so important, as it flushes the soil and prevents the salts from building up. Giving lots of water now can cause more problems, as it can cause even more salts in your soil to be released and do even more damage. Drenching your soil until water runs out of the bottom of the pot is actually the correct way to water. Purple leaf stems are not a really big problem and can be ignored. At this stage I would give just plain water for a week or so, after removing as much of the fertilizer that is sitting on the top of the soil first. This way your plant will use up the trapped nutrient salts that are in the soil already. I would also be switching to a soluble fertilizer/nutrient, this way you can control what your plant gets, rather than feeding each and every time you water as occurs with the top dressing type of fertilizer you are now using. Worm castings are excellent and can not do any damage or harm, if they are pure and unadulterated. After this week-10 days has passed, I would resume with the fertilizer, but probably at half strength and as long as it does not cause further damage, continue at this strength until harvest. The problem with the top dressing type of fertilizer is that it feeds your plant each and every time you water. Also, after these 7-10 have passed, giving 2-3 litres of plain water would be about right. Ideally, you should aim for a water/water/feed/water/water/feed schedule, so that you are feeding every 7-10 days, with 2 irrigations of plain water between each feeding. This will be plenty enough food and the 2 irrigations with plain water will help keep your soil healthy and prevent any nutrient salts from building up. When you do water, water until water comes out the bottom of the pot, this is the only way to prevent salts from building up, otherwise, without run off, all the dissolved nutrient salts stay in the soil and build up to toxic levels. Hope this helps,............ Organoman.

For the past four weeks the lower fan leaves on my plant have been getting pale green then yellow/brown. the stems have turned purple and I have noticed the last week or so the tips of the leaves have been slowly turning brown. Should i worry at this stage of growth?

Hi there, Lower leaves turning into yellow ia completely normal at this stage. As long as I can keep substrate pH in proper range and proper feed, I will not worry a bit about those symptoms and discoloration. All I would do is making her as comfortable as I can until harvest and focus on buds for pests, mold or rot.Good luck and Happy growing... ✌️

@@AutoDankDragon, I just finished the drying process this morning. I finished with just under 40 grams. I had a chance to sample some after about 6 days of drying and it was a sweet smoke, mostly cerebral that lasted for about three hours. I wish you the best of luck on your grow 👍👊

Looking pretty good! I think some yellowing and cannibalization of the fan leaves could be natural, but I'm super new to this so take that with a grain of Rick Simpson Oil... I really appreciate you posting this diary, as I have 8 Emperor J seeds in my inventory, and was considering running those next. If they are not autos, that may change my game plan somewhat. I also got some Sour D Auto and RPK Autos from Oasis. The Sour D has started flowering under 20/4, and the RPK seems like it wants to, but I wouldn't say she is officially in flower yet. Very interested to see how your Emperor J harvest turns out, and maybe a smoke report? Seems like she is gonna be a big girl!

@thekylemethod, After I started having problems with flowering her I went back and read a few reviews of the seeds and others are having similar issues with these seeds not being autos. I would be curious to see how you make out with yours. I have some more EJ seeds as well but I am timid about trying two in my tent at once. Maybe if I get a bigger tent I will run them expecting photos, especially if I get a good harvest and some good smoke. Good luck with your grow 👍👍

Your grow looks great 👍! I also top dress using Gaia Green and have had good results. My soil eats it up and I like the ease of use. I just joined your grow but noticed you had a watering issue. If your water has low ppm and to avoid using any cal mag you can add powdered dolomite lime to your soil when you mix and it will also keep your ph in check. I haven’t checked ph since using Gaia Green…works for me and my water. EWC/compost are a must and make the soil active with microbial life that eats the top dressings and breaks it down…top dress/teas! I grow in 5-7 gallon fabric pots and do NOT water until run off. But I do make sure water is making it to the bottom. I have to water slowly to insure it doesn’t just run through or down the sides. Salts won’t build up like bottle nutrients. Make sure you follow the instructions Gaia Green recommends, they are spot on! Just don’t top dress a few weeks prior to harvest. No flush required just don’t add anything and water to end. You don’t want all your microbes to run out the bottom of the pot and die. I do have a little run off but I’m talking only 100-200ml max that gets soaked back into pot. This method has been working for me and hope it helps. Your plants look great! I’ll be following along🖖

@OrganicPower, Thanks so much for the comments. I will definitely implement your suggestions in my next grow. I have to admit its been pretty hands off as far as maintenance goes so I will definitely run with the Gaia Green again. I use it in my garden as well and my crops are spot on and 100% organic. I do use homemade compost and EWC in my garden and it works like magic. I used promix for my indoor grow because I was scared of getting bugs in the house (the better half would skin me alive). If I can just get my Emperor J to flower I will be happy. I checker her tonight before i put her in a time out and she seems to be putting out more pistils than usual and she grew another 4" since Tuesday. Cheers, I am off to check out your grows.
