First Grow ever. White Widow x Big Bud

CollieBuddz Since I ran the lamp at 25% due to lack of experience, the growth isn't what it should be. I've only moistened the ladies a little every day in terms of watering. Otherwise, everything's actually fine.

CollieBuddz Everything was fine except for the low lighting during the first 1.5 weeks. Since the nutrients weren't fully delivered yet, I only started fertilizing in week 3. So far, just light, soil, our awesome water (pH value of ~6 from the tap), and lots of love ;)

CollieBuddz The ladies are growing well, I think. After the 3rd node, I topped 3 plants and fimmed 1. For the first time, I also added the fertilizer from AN. The ladies have now moved into 3.2-liter pots. You can also already faintly smell the first scent in the tent. In case you're wondering why some of the 3-fingered leaves are missing, I just removed them after topping and fimming. I carefully bent the leaves of the two back ones down and secured them with long wire loops so that the new shoots would get good light. After removing the wires, the bent-down leaves stayed almost perfectly horizontal. Really cool :) I topped as early as possible so they can really put on some growth during the rest of the growth phase. Contrary to all the warnings and know-it-alls you can read in various forums, the plants really handled the "early" stress super well. I will definitely do it this way again for the next grow.

CollieBuddz The biggest plant is now 25 cm tall and has recovered well after topping and fimming. I want to gather different experiences with the pots, so I have an 8-liter fabric pot to try out, and the others will move into regular, square 11-liter pots. Watering is done with runoff drain and then only again when the pots feel lighter. So far, everything looks quite promising. The goal is to go into flowering next week. I generally regulate the humidity using Tupperware bowls with microfiber cloths inside. The exhaust is a 120mm PC fan with 90 m3/h. Connected to a power supply from Obi where you can adjust the voltage from 3.5V to 12V. All DIY. You can still order the carbon filter. Amazon with Prime delivers it the next day. Really cool :) For ventilation in the box, I hung a 30cm fan from the ceiling that gently brushes the little plants passively over the back wall. By the way, the plant in the back right, "Rita," I topped and fimmmed because I just want to know what effect that has and how it overall impacts the little plant, which is growing like crazy. After the early topping, they are exploding right now. The plant with the missing cotyledon is the one in the front right. It's generally 2-3 days behind in development.

CollieBuddz Update: Day 6 of Week 5. 05/10/2021. Topped 2 plants and did a little defoliation. The net is coming tomorrow, and then we'll see how it goes. Plants look good overall and have gained well again. The fertilizer from Advanced Nutrients is really great. No signs of over- or under-fertilization at all. I haven't quartered or halved the amount like is recommended almost everywhere. I haven't even measured the pH value yet. Light height set to 40 cm and power at 75% until flowering.

CollieBuddz Update Tag 5 of Week 6 May 16, 2012, 7:00 PM. Lighting changed to 12/12. I counted over 50 tops. I'm really excited. The 8-liter fabric pot is really great. No idea why many people struggle with them. For the next grow, only fabric pots will be used. The White Widows x Big Bud are really robust and beginner-friendly. All in all, it looks pretty good.

CollieBuddz 6th day of flowering. I corrected the position a bit for some, but otherwise let them grow in peace. Plants 3 and 4 were topped differently. That's why there are differences in size. I experimented a bit. First grow, you know :) No. 3 is the plant with the missing cotyledon. Starting Monday, I'll be adding AN Big Bud. What happened with plant No. 4 I'll explain after the grow. Let's see :) They needed watering, and I bent the tallest tops to the side again so that they all grow nice and evenly. The ladies are getting thirstier now. For nutrients, I'm sticking with the 3-component fertilizer from AN for now. All in all, it's looking pretty good.

CollieBuddz 6th Day of the 2nd Flowering Week Everything is easy and relaxed. I'm trying to keep the humidity in the optimal range based on the plant's stage, according to the list. During the day, I have ~65% and at night ~55%. As soon as the first buds develop, I'll drop it down a notch. Hung the lamp at 30cm and dimmed it a bit. Had to water yesterday and also added some Big Bud from AN and a bit of coconut water. The plants are getting thirstier now. Overall, I watered ~8 liters. I watered thoroughly and let a bit more drain out than usual. Otherwise, the ladies look fantastic :) And I secretly watered the neighbor's strawberries with the AN fertilizer. Let's see :)

CollieBuddz Update 7 Day of Week 3 of Flowering. I hung the temperature and humidity sensor at the level of the buds to measure both more accurately. I’m getting the humidity to about ~60%, also due to the weather here. Just damp and cool for us. Since I have 2 fans blowing over the buds, the shimmer should actually not be a problem. Growth doesn’t seem to be completely stopped yet, and the buds are getting fluffier. The smell in the tent has noticeably increased. Right now it smells spicy and fresh. I’ve switched to keeping the soil moist with small daily doses of water instead of watering to drain. Otherwise, the humidity gets too high. I did a bit of defoliation and cut out everything that isn’t peeking through the net. Watered about ~250 ml due to the stress. The plants have gained a bit more height. I’ve also added AN B-52. The girls needed watering. They drink more than my ex-girlfriend :) Those days of overwatering and then a week of peace are over. Otherwise, everything looks pretty good.

CollieBuddz The week has gone pretty well, except that the plants got a bit too much light for a few days. That's why I think they're not as far along as they should be. I turned the lamp down a bit. Otherwise, the plants look healthy.

CollieBuddz This week the plants experienced heat stress because of the weather. Unfortunately, the box is in my apartment and it was super hot. I couldn't get the temperature down at all in the place. I'm hoping that the plants might catch up a bit this week.

CollieBuddz The week has gone well. Fortunately, the temperatures weren't too summery this week. The ladies are ready for harvest. I'll let them dry for another 2 days, and then they'll be harvested by Wednesday at the latest. I've already cut a sample bud from the less developed ones to test the flavor. The high comes on slowly after smoking, hitting from the back, and tastes spicy, slightly sharp. Delicious :) They've been flushed for 3 days.

CollieBuddz For my first grow, I think the result is just great. Once the mistakes from the first grow are fixed, and they will be, the next grow will be even better. The seedling is already in the soil :)
