This is the next strain I chose for scrog #2. I let her get going a bit before starting the diary to make sure she was going strong. One strange thing I'm noticing about her is that instead of an alternating leaf pattern, she is actually growing in a triangular fashion with 3 leaves per node! Intopper her the other night and notice 3 new branches forming. Pretty crazy! Not sure how that's going to work for the scrog, but time will tell.
Got my warranty led replacement and transplanted her into the 7 gal fabric pot and watered with URB, cal-mag, molasses and mammothP to get things going. Strange 3-way leaf pattern! This will make the scrog interesting.
Day 44: Responding well to the topping and still growing that tri-leaf pattern. I bent her over and stalker her down for further LST.
Day 47: topped round two yesterday and she should bush out nicely now.
Day 48: spiked down the branches for more LST in prep for a bushy plant.
Day 51: she's coming along nicely and is responding well to the LST. She's a bit further behind my Swiss cheese grow, but I think that may be heat related, since I turned off the space heater for the Spring.
Day 71: the tent is smelling delicious! I'll be doing some light pruning soon and may take a couple smaller branches as clones.
Day 76: I did some thinning under the canopy and cleaned out the dead leave she deep inside the canopy and she's responding great! Starting to fill the trellis nicely.
Day 78: things are scrogging away nicely now! Finally getting to do some tucking and spread out the canopy. Probably a week, maybe two more before Flower. It's always a gamble on how much the stretch will be.
Day 93: At long last, I have flipped to 12/12 and today is the first full day of flowering!
Day 98: explosive growth! I may have waited too long on before flowering. This is going to be interesting compared to my first scrog.
Week 16: I was on vacation this week and my friend took this pic for me so I could update the diary. Amazing growth in the week i was gone. Better pics soon!
Week 17: This scrog appears to be doing much better than I expected. I was striving for taller branches through the screen and she's doing just fine!
Day 4: added two p150 lights to the tent to boost the light footprint. Went from 380w to 680w. I raised them up a bit now as well to see how they reapond.
Week 18: Things are progressing nicely. AG had a nice stretch and with the added light, seems to be doing just fine. I honestly can't tell if the added light is helping, other than helping the edge buds, which is what I wanted the added light for, so I guess it IS helping, just not sure how much.
Week 20: I was running out of Floranova Bloom, so I consulted a local grow shop and picked up some Emerald Harvest to change things up a bit. I have the 2-part Cali Pro Bloom, King Cola and Honey Chome. I've already noticed significant decrease in PPM over the Floranova.
Week 22, week 1: She's really coming along now. Only a couple of weeks left, I think. I'll probably start flushing next week. She's packing on some weight and size and trichome development.
Week 11, day 1 (day 163): Getting so close! It might be my eyes, but I'm not seeing cloudy trichs yet, even though I think I see some amber? I'm waiting a bit longer before flushing. The center nugs have a lot of white pistils still and I feel like I'm seeing lots of clear/glassy trichomes.
Fantastic strain! I had a heat issue near the end and got some nanners, but it was so late in the cycle, it didn’t matter. Huge yield and amazing smells in the jar. Great feelings and the buds are dense and burn forever!
This strain really surprised me and performed very well in my scrog. A much higher yield than I ever dreamed from one plant. The buds were HUGE and dense a filled 9 mason jars. This was a very good run and can’t wait to try out orher BF strains.
Very pretty. She’s taking her time. It’s both annoying and exciting when a sativa takes FOREVER!. Will be worth the wait. Enjoy!
What’s your watt per square foot? My sativas seemed to never get enough light to really thrive
@gdogfunk,
You’re doing great, and yet underpowered by standards as I know them - 50w/sq ft
But which square foot? Directly under the light?
At a slight angle?
Or tucked away in a corner?
Irrelevant
Your garden is strong. Enjoy
@growdoctordc, I'm using a 380w LED in a 3x3 tent, so I'm running 42.2w/sqft. I am actually adding two p150 LEDs today and that should bring it up to 75.5w/sqft and should cover the edges of the tent and, hopefully, get better canopy penetration in the tight spots.
However, with all of that being said, I'm not sure if I'm calculating that right. The LEDs say 380w, but the actual power draw is less, so I'm not sure if I should be using actual power draw to answer your question or the output watts. Either way, I've been pleased with the single light, so adding two more should really brighten things up :)
@MovingOn, Thank you! This was my largest yield to date using a SCROG. I'm not sure I can get much more out of my current setup, but I will certainly try! Good luck with your grow! Just don't let them go too long or you might get some nanners.
Hey bro! Awesome grow! I’m running in the Fastbuds iPhone contest , if you could stop by my 2xGSC-COCO journal and leave a comment I’d really appreciate it! Goodluck!
Wow 😲 what a great looking scrog. Personally I like using tomato 🍅 cages, but due to my room being over-veg’d I was forced to scrog my room this run. I wish it looked half as good as the scrog you have going there. Keep up the good work!!!
@MagicMikesMeds, Thank you! This is my second scrog attempt and there are pro/cons to each grow so far. I have a taller canopy above the screen than last time and I think that will provide a better result. If only the plant on the right was as big!
