Transplanted May 26.
After burning many Devil C-series plants, the soil already in new grow bags was flushed to remove excess nutrients (mainly potassium). I think the barley SST provided too much potassium. The soil was then diluted with regular garden soil and a bit of Pro-Mix HP. The D-series Devils are much happier after transplanting.
Not sure why leaf tips are burning on these ones. Fixed sodium issue in water, never foliar sprayed, and soil should be fine so I’m thinking it might be the fungal mycorrhizae that I put on the seeds after they sprout. That shouldn’t be a problem but I don’t see what else it could be. Maybe I’m adding a bit too much so I’ll try some without to see if that’s the problem.
Middle of heat wave.
June 29: morning foliar using kelp but no LAB.
June 30: hit 36 C yesterday, today and likely tomorrow.
July 3: heat wave is now over since it only hit about 28 C today. One plant hermied the other day and has been culled.
July 17: plants are doing great. Second Devil came out as male and/or hermie which is about what I’d expect based on the total plant count.
July 18: third male found.
July 20: removed two more hermies. These were both of the second Devil pheno (about 10% of the plants) and of that pheno about half of them hermied (so far).
@Cannabeast40, Devil XXL is the key plant this year. I was very impressed with it last year and I’m sure that I can do better this year by starting it earlier to catch more sun around the solstice. Thanks and good luck to you.
@Ferenc, thanks. Feeling pretty confident about the season despite several big problems already. Excess sodium in the well water is a killer but I think that I have that fixed now. Should be fun.
@cannabigoddess, I really liked the Devil I grew last year and these later start Devils are going great this year. 😎. These are great plants that should be more well known.
Good luck with your grow I hope you get the best taste of buds and healthy plants! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
