Seeds popped out of soil on 3/23. I originally started with 1x Humboldt gorilla breath and 1x crop king white widow. You'll see later why the WW didn't make it. Sprouted under t5ho with the rest of my tomatoes and peppers.
The gorilla breath is 54 days old from seed at this point. The white widow that originally was planted turned male even though it wasn't stressed and lights stayed on 18hrs a day. A sin city papaya power was planted in its place. Unfortunately the papaya is about 3 weeks behind the GB. I will have to keep the GB small and let the papaya catch up before I flip to flower. Not ideal but I'll fill up the tent either way.
Gorilla breath is growing crazy fast. I've defoliated 3 times and have been pinching off side growth that would end up staying under the canopy. Lots of female preflowers on the GB. She's wants to flower but I need the papaya to gain a little speed first. Tent is starting to stink. The papaya is going to be very terpy, pretty skunky and rancid already. Maybe two more weeks and I'll flip to flower.
Both plants are going strong although the gorilla breath is the serious winner here just because she's 3 weeks ahead of the papaya. Very bushy and drinking lots of water now. I defoliated and took off a bunch of small side shoots and lolipopped the under canopy. No nutrients this week, just water. I flipped the lights to 12/12 today. If I waited any longer the GB would have taken over the tent. I will add a scrog net very soon and top dress with some worm castings and bloom fertilizer in a week or so. Excited to see how this lopsided canopy fills out.
Week 1 of flower down. I've definitely noticed the start of the stretch and fortunately the papaya seems to be catching up now. I just topdressed some worm castings, grokashi, and roots organics uprising bloom. No deficiencies I've noticed and great growth from both. They are now both showing their lady parts too. I added some netting to try and keep the GB down low. Light is currently at about 60% and will be gradually increasing over the next couple weeks. Looking forward to seeing their progression!
Week 2 flower gone and passed. The stretch has been ridiculous but its definitely slowed down for the GB. I think she will stay relatively the same height now. The papaya is definitely behind developmentally probably due to less veg time than the GB. The GB is exploding with pistils and small buds are starting to form already. The papaya is throwing out pistils but just not at the same rate. All in all, both girls look happy and I'm pretty satisfied with my canopy going into flower. I haven't seen any weird deficiencies yet (knock on wood) and the grow has been pretty hands off this past week. Using my SIP buckets I can go nearly a full week without any type of watering and the plants just use as much as they need. Defoliation and tweaking my light height have been the biggest challenge this grow. Ill probably defoliate one or two more times before harvest. Hoping for smooth sailing over the next 6-8 weeks. Thanks for looking!
I'm majorly disappointed you didn't post a picture of your before and after on your amazing light readjustment for that little extra headroom you wanted. that shit was genius and deserves to be shown
