Week 8 Day 1 :
Plants are showing positive veg growth and are still developing new growth. Expect the plants to preflower and reach maturity before they begin to flower and fruit up very shortly. My guess would be at the end of this week. The plants are in a 12/12 light cycle so they will go into flower when they reach maturity. Right now I expect the plants to continue nurturing its new growth sites before it begins to focus on developing flowers. So it could be another week or two before they really begin to flower. Only time will tell. I am not opposed to the plants sustaining veg growth for another 2 weeks I just am worried that our tent will reach its capacity and I don't want to burn the plant if it overgrows and encroaches the hot light. If it gets to that point I will look into some techniques to cap the growth.
Day 2
Preflower's can be found on both the Blueberry plant and the White widow plant. These preflowers are a sure sign that the plants will be flowering by the end of the week. Week 9 we will be full into flowering. We will keep the 12/12 light regiment until harvest. The only change will be the plants are going to change their nutrient mix. We are switching their food from the Pride Lands VEG fertilizer to the Pride Lands BLOOM fertilizer. The difference being the nutrient mix on the VEG mix is 3 - 3 -3.5 while the BLOOM mix is 6 - 3 - 3.5 . This mix is going to stimulate larger bud growth. The plants were still pretty wet today so we skipped a full water in lieu of a light top water just to push some nutrients into the roots. The plants will be checked tomorrow morning to see if they will need to be watered. These large 10 gal containers seem to stay wet longer than the little 3 gallon containers so we might be watering every 4 days now as opposed to every two days. There is a ton of new branch development at the top of the plants where we did the FIMing. I am fairly positive that our FIM was successful on the white widow plant, it is difficult to see whether the blueberry plant will develop two top colas, but it has some new growth at the top where I did the FIM. On the white widow plant you can clearly see where the two top colas will be. On the blueberry its a little bit messier. There are close up pictures of the results of the FIMing technique on both plants.
Good luck with your grow I hope you get the best taste of buds and healthy plants! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
