Greenhouse project Autoflower mixed strains 😵
Great gift of RQS to try some autoflowers for the first time in my life 😜
I asked for one of each, but they sent me 3 of each. How generous of them 🙏 Many thanks
Check the other stuff in my packet, and you'll see why I'm a happy man.
Planning to grow them naturally in open ground in my greenhouse. Curious to see what this will bring 😊
I put the seeds in the Easy Start plugs which were in the packet. 😃
Let's Grow ! 💪
Not so good weather in first this week in the spring. Cold nights of 10°C and normal greenhouse temperatures during the day (+/- 25°C) 😢
On DAY6 I was not at home, so no pictures 😭
I selected one plant of each strain. 7 plants in total !
I planted them at an underlying distance of 80 cm in my green house. (added some mycorrhiza in the plant hole)
The soil is well prepared with lots of things....
The only strain I didn't get a single seed germinated was Green Gelato.
Three plants had an abnormal growth pattern.
Four plants I gave away to a good friend.
Plants are going great ! They have more than double in size in one week
Most of them have started to bloom.
You can seed clearly the difference between the strains now.
Watermelon is the tallest. Purple Punch the smallest.
Nothing much to say this week. Plants are still growing and flowering at the same time !
Smallest plant : Purple Punch = 54 cm
Tallest plant : Water Melon = 88 cm
The plants are doing well 😍
Some plants are more mature than others. 👆👇
Only water, no extra nutrients. The soil was fertilized before the start of growth 👌
Bad week with low temperatures and lots of rain 😭
👉Major budrot on the Purple Punch 😝
👉Minor budrot on the Mimosa 😢
No water, no extra nutrients. The soil was fertilized before the start of growth 👌
The bad weather has some devastating effects 😵
I had to remove the small Purple Punch plant. she was the earliest and fastest maturing plant, but she is completely affected by budrot. 😥
Height :
Sherbet Queen : 123 cm (small buds)
Watermelon : 114 cm (big buds, the widest plant)
Mimosa : 101 cm (minor bud rot)
Hulk Berry : 91 cm (lots of trichomes)
Do-Si-Dos : 91 cm (looks very promising)
Haze Berry : 83cm (minor bud rot)
Purple Punch : 65 cm (major bud rot)
The Purple Punch plant is a small plant and fast bloomer, but it was extremely sensitive to mold. The whole plant was affected and therefore I could only harvest a 3 grams.
Bad summer, not much sunshine, lots of rain.
Hulk Berry : lots of trichomes, very white, medium plant, terrific smell
Watermelon : large plant with lots of side branches, big buds, purple color, medium smell, not that much trichomes, probably a big yielder
Sherbet Queen : medium large plant with small sticky buds, great smell, trichomes;
Do-Si-Dos : medium plant, big colla, small side branches, strong smell, problems with leaf lice, budrot
Haze Berry : small weak plant, good smell, little yielder, budrot
Mimosa : medium small plant, great smell, small beautiful buds, little yielder, budrot
As I told you last week, budrot is becoming a problem. We had a rainy summer and therefore it was unavoidable 😏
I try to bloom my plants as long as possible, but when the mold is kicking in, it's time to harvest. 😭
Harvest dates :
DAY71 Purple Punch
DAY78 Do-Si-Dos, Haze Berry, Mimosa
The Hulk Berry (lots of trichomes), Watermelon (big yielder), and Sherbet Queen(she takes her time) are still in perfect shape 😍
Looking great!
what is your success rate with the seeds in the easy starter?
I believe I have better success with the paper towel method.
Anyway, I’ve heard that RQS will replace all the seeds that don’t germinate if you file a complaint 😉
I'm not so happy with the easyplugs neither; but RQS sent me them with the seeds. So I tried them once again. It's sometimes hard to keep them moisty enough, even within a propagator. Seeds are also a bit pressed in the plug and difficult for the seedling to crack the shelf.
I got my seeds for free from RQS (in exchange for photos and data), so no need to complain.
