Started some Animal Mint from the Natty Roots Seed Co. Paper-towel was damp with straight tap water, 36 hours in darkness (no heat). It was placed into its pot at this point of germination.
Pre mix:
Gaia Green All Purpose Fertilizer 4-4-4: 1 Cup
Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4: 12 Tbsp
Gaia Green Glacial Rock Dust: 3 Tbsp
Gaia Green Alfalfa Meal: 2 Tbsp
Great White: 2 Tsp
Worm Casting: 2 Cups
I forget to give her Cal Mag a couple times and i'm pretty sure that why she has a yellow colour on her leaves. My night time temps were much to cold last week and are now back where they need to be. I've started to feed Green Planet Root Builder. I expect her to really take off this upcoming week.
My light has been turned down to 180W since I started and I plan to keep it that way at least another week or two. She is filling out every nice with big thick leaves but not much stretch so far. I had tied it down this last week but will be removing it tomorrow.
I timed my watering a little poor this week so my leaves are looking a bit full. I've left light high hoping she would stretch but it has not done much so far. I will be dropping the light this week and we should be seeing some good change.
The effects of my over watering seem to have faded. Ive folded down the sides of the pot and defoliated some lower greenery to allow better air flow beneath the fan leaves. The lower nodes are finally starting to pull up. Today I decided to tie down the main stem to allow the the lower nodes more direct light. I will be turning the wattage up on my light this upcoming week.
I pulled the larger fan leaves because it’s so compact the lower tops could not pull through. I tied everything down today hoping this will help open her up. Things are going very well….. and yes the leaves are a big saggy because I just watered her.
Its come to life this week and shown good growth. Its still pretty compact so i'll need to tie it down and defoliate next week. I gave her one last water soluble shot of great white and also mixed a feed of molasses to prep her for flowering. I should be top dressing and be flipping the light switch by end of next week.
I did a lot of leaf tucking and defoliating to clean this plant up. It remains very compact and requires a lot of ties to really spread out the canopy. Light wattage is still set kinda low at 300W.
I top dressed with:
Gaia Green 4-4-4: 1 Tbsp
Gaia Green 2-8-4: 2 Tbsp
Gaia Green 0-9-0: 1 Tsp
Gaia Green 3-0-3: 1 Tbsp
Gaia Green Glacial Rock Dust: 2 Tbsp
1 Cup worm casting mixed with two 4 cups of coco.
I still have her tied down trying to fill out the canopy. Still not much stretch even with the distance from the light and running a lower wattage light setting. She has beautiful lush green leaves and is damn near ready to kick into flowering.
This will be the last week of vegetive growth. I'll be taking some clones in a couple days and likely top dress again in a couple weeks which should feed until she finishes. I removed a ton of leaves early this week and you would never know by looking at the photos hahaha.
Tonight I will be switching the light schedule to 12/12 as we begin flowering. I did some extensive defoliation to allow to lower growth the pull up. I added the trellis as well and gave her one feed of molasses. Things are going well.
First week of flowering done but no flowers forming yet.
Top dressed with a light feed.
Gaia Green All Purpose Fertilizer 4-4-4: 1 Tbsp
Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4: 1.5 Tbsp
Gaia Green Glacial Rock Dust: 1.5 Tsp
Gaia Green Mineralized Phosphate: 1 Tsp
Gaia Green Alfalfa Meal: 1.5 Tsp
Worm Casting: 4Tbsp
She still continues to be a difficult canopy to manage. The pistols have been slow starting but they seem to be coming in now. I defoliated a ton of leaves this week to to ensure there was adequate air flow as we kick into flowering.
We are make progress now, check out that trichome production this week. Stunning! I cleaned up the bottom one more time. I will be top dressing this next week and it will be the last before harvest.
The buds are awesome. Tight, compact and still has some good trichomes coming in.
She still has some deep green in the leaves and not showing any signs of nutrient depletions so I only have her a light feeding.
Gaia Green All Purpose Fertilizer 4-4-4: .5 Tbsp
Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4: 2 Tbsp
Gaia Green Glacial Rock Dust: 1 Tsp
Gaia Green Mineralized Phosphate: 1 Tsp
Gaia Green Alfalfa Meal: 1 Tsp
Trichome heaven on these buds. The trichomes are starting to cloud and i feel like it should be chopping in 2-3 weeks. I'll cut the Cal Meg out now because its still looks like there are lots of nutrients to deplete.
Onto the final week now. Trichome heads are all cloudy so we should be finished very soon. The plant is fading so well, im hoping the nutrients are flushed well and we get a good clean smoke with lots of flavour.

Happy Harvest Day!
The Natty Roots Co - Animal Mint - Custom Breeder & Strain
Overall this plant grew well but the results are amazing. I did not stretch much so I couldn't do much training. Once the flowers started this girl started pumping out the trichomes. Its a solid 9 week flower and a good yielder for its size. I would absolutely grow this one again.
