Started some Animal Mint from the Natty Roots Seed Co. Paper-towel was damp with straight tap water, 36 hours in darkness sitting on my Meanwell driver for warmth. It was placed into its pot at this point of germination.
Pre mix:
Gaia Green All Purpose Fertilizer 4-4-4: 1 Cup
Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4: 12 Tbsp
Gaia Green Glacial Rock Dust: 3 Tbsp
Gaia Green Alfalfa Meal: 2 Tbsp
Great White: 2 Tsp
Worm Casting: 2 Cups
Everything is going well this week. I will be removing the dome tomorrow to start getting some air flow in the pot. This girl should take off quick now. Lets Go!
My light has been turned down to 180W since I started and I plan to keep it that way at least another week or two. She does not appear to be a stretcher and nor does my other. The leaves are nice and wide soaking up all the light and they are soft to the touch. Things are going very well.
This plant has really come to life this last week. The lower nodes are not coming out as quick as id like. I may need to tie the main stem slightly to expose them to the direct light. I will be turning the wattage up on my light this upcoming week.
This animal mint has exploded this week. Like my other it is extremely compact and doesn’t like to stretch much. At this point it is the same size as the week older one I’m currently growing. This one is a bit easier to leaf tuck then my other so I’ll continue to use this method rather then defoliating.
I'll need to tie it down and defoliate next week. I gave her one last water soluble shot of great white and also mixed a feed of molasses to prep her for flowering. I should be top dressing and be flipping the light switch by end of next week.
Even though this is a week younger then its sister they look identical. I did a lot of leaf tucking and defoliating. It remains very compact and requires a lot of ties to really spread out the canopy. Light wattage is still set kinda low at 300W.
I top dressed with:
Gaia Green 4-4-4: 1 Tbsp
Gaia Green 2-8-4: 2 Tbsp
Gaia Green 0-9-0: 1 Tsp
Gaia Green 3-0-3: 1 Tbsp
Gaia Green Glacial Rock Dust: 2 Tbsp
1 Cup worm casting mixed with two 4 cups of coco.
What a stunning looking plant. Leaves, colours.... everything about her looks great. I'm continuing to manage the canopy with minimal stretch. Should be kicking into flower very soon. Can't wait.
This plant still looks stunning. I tested the run off this week and it came out at 7.0 which i'll be working on dropping. I will be taking a couple clones in a few days and then kicking her into flowering.
Tonight I will be switching the light schedule to 12/12 and kick off into flowering. I defoliated her to allow the lower growth the pull up. I added the trellis as well and gave her one feed of molasses. She is still a stunning plant.
First week of flowering done but no flowers forming yet.
Top dressed with a light feed.
Gaia Green All Purpose Fertilizer 4-4-4: 1 Tbsp
Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4: 1.5 Tbsp
Gaia Green Glacial Rock Dust: 1.5 Tsp
Gaia Green Mineralized Phosphate: 1 Tsp
Gaia Green Alfalfa Meal: 1.5 Tsp
Worm Casting: 4Tbsp
I defoliated a lot of fan leaves of her this week but you can barely tell haha. The pistols have been slow starting but they seem to be coming in now. Things are going extremely well.
I removed a ton of leaves off her this last week but you'd never know looking at it now. Everything about this plant has been going great. Get'er Done!
Check out this beautiful plant and the trichome production this week. Stunning! I cleaned up the bottom one more time. I will be top dressing this next week and it will be the last before harvest.
Of both my Animal Mints this one is coated with trichomes the most. Buds are tight and compact.
She still has some deep green in the leaves and not showing any signs of nutrient depletions so I only have her a light feeding.
Gaia Green All Purpose Fertilizer 4-4-4: .5 Tbsp
Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4: 2 Tbsp
Gaia Green Glacial Rock Dust: 1 Tsp
Gaia Green Mineralized Phosphate: 1 Tsp
Gaia Green Alfalfa Meal: 1 Tsp
What a beautiful plant. The buds are sprinkled in sugar and the leaves look healthy. I can't wait to harvest this girl and see how amazing these buds are.
This girl is still stunning. The trichomes are starting to cloud and i feel like it should be chopping in 2-3 weeks. I'll cut the Cal Meg out now because its still looks like there are lots of nutrients to deplete.
She is still a stunning plant. One week into the flush and she is not showing much fade in the leaves however, the trichome heads are starting to cloud. The buds look ohhh, so juicy!
Onto the final week now. Trichome heads are all cloudy so we should be finished very soon. The plant is fading so well, im hoping the nutrients are flushed well and we get a good clean smoke with lots of flavour.

Week 19. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!
The Natty Roots Seed Co - Animal Mint - Custom Breeder & Strain
Very consistent between both my animal mints. She grew well with amazing results, not much stretch so minimal training was accomplished. Tremendous trichome production which results with a good amount of resin on your joint. Its a solid 9 week flower and a good yielder for its size. I would absolutely grow again.
