Crop King sent me a packet of 10 CBD Mix seeds as their way of apologizing for their delay in shipping my order. Crop King suggests identifying the strain by comparing the flowering plant with pictures from their web site.

2 sets of leaves showing on my sprig. Is it to soon to call it a plant? No nutrients given as some are supplied in the Miracle Grow soil.

I would have transplanted to the outdoors this week, but it has been much cooler (18 C day time - 13 C night) and it has rained and rained. Yes, lots of wind too, for the last 5 days. I am sure I am depressed from the lack of sunshine.

After Low Stress Training the plant put its energy into increasing the size of its lower branches. I finally found a day that was not to hot or to rainy to transplant the auto-flowering plants outdoors. I had this plant and my other 4 plants well protected from the hurricane that came up the coast from Florida to Atlantic Canada.

I continue to tie down the top growth of the plant to enable the lower branches to produce some buds. Provided 2 liters of water containing nutrients. There is some bug damage this week. Little round bite holes in the leaves. I need to find out what kind of bug killer is safe for cannabis.

Could you please suggest some safe bug killer powders or solutions for Cannabis plants growing outdoors. I have not found the bugs that are making little round holes in the leaves. No aphids or spider mites visible. I live on east coast of Canada, if that information is helpful.

Grab a spray bottle put 3 drops of dawn dish soap fill bottle like warm water spray plants. Kills the mite by suffocation, kills egg sacs on plants. Other then that Neem oil but you really don't wanna do it, tbh it kills the taste at harvest....

Way to much rain this past week. I only had a couple of days when it was dry enough to give water soluble nutrients. Grew in height even though I have been training the branches down. Some of its leaves are a bit wider than the Autocheese growing beside it. Crop King suggests comparing the Surprise to the their other CBD strains in order to figure out which strain this could be. That means it could be Autocheese, CB Dutch Treat, CBDream or CB Diesel

Another rainy week meant I only had 2 days in which I could add water soluble nutrients. I included some Cal-Mag as a first time experiment. As my well water is a PH of 7 and the Advanced Nutrients PH perfect do not add any acidity to my garden soil, my garden soil measures a consistent PH of 7. I also tried Root Farm PH Down. Frustrated that there were no instruction on the bottle other than volume of water, initial PH measurement of water, amount of medium (soil) and PH of medium all determine the amount of PH Down to be used. So I searched for suggestions for product use on their Root Farm website, which had no helpful instructions. So I guessed. Shortly after watering the plant with the above nutrients, I got a PH measurement of 6.6. No harm done and I made an improvement towards the ideal of 6.5. Plant increased in height and width this week. I arranged and tied down the side branches while letting a top branch grow upwards. Seems that it is not an Autoflowering CBD as it has not begun to flower like my 2 Autoflowering CBD Cheese plants of the same age.

Another rainy week. Watered twice nutrient solution this week. Before watering I tested soil PH under this plant and got a reading of PH 7. After watering with nutrients that contained 5 ml of PH down and waiting a few minutes, I got a reading of 6.4.

It was a week of sunshine and higher than normal temperatures. The good news is I was able to give plants an extra watering with nutrients. The soil had its first chance to dry out in several weeks. As today was to soon to give more nutrients, plant got just water with the lawn sprinkler. Don't even think of asking me how much water, but the ground was quite dry and got a good 15 minutes of pretend rain. It is not supposed to rain for another 4 days. Nutrients will be given tomorrow. Sort of a spindly looking plant, but that might because of my Low Stress Training rather than the nature of the plant.

Not a lot of rain this week, plant had some water from the sprinkler while I was watering the lawn's new grass seed. Plant received 3 liters of water with nutrients. It just keeps growing and I have secured down some branch tips. No sign of flowering so it is no earlier in flowering than the CBDream. We are at about 13 hours between sunrise and sunset. There is a large guape between leaf sights on the branches in comparison with my large CBDream. Could it be a strain that has a strong sativa genetics?

It has rained for 5 days in a row. That has not harmed this plant as it is just entering the pre-flowering stage. No buds yet so no struggle with the mold like I have with one of my other plants. This plant has only received water with nutrients 3 times this week. Otherwise it has received more than enough rain water.

I was testing the PH down product. Before use, the soil was 7. After application with nutrients in 6 gallons of water and waiting 10 minutes the result was 6.3. I can only make a temporary change to soil PH but I feel the plants may get a period of time of increased ability to uptake nutrients. Removed some fan leaves and tied down more branches. Now plant is 58 inches high and 58 inches wide.

There was a night of temperatures close to producing frost. I fear that this plant will not finish in time. I covered the plant with horse blankets on that cold night. Trimed the larger fan leaves. I still note that this plant has leaves larger than those on the CBDream plant. It also has a larger distance between the leaf nodes and thus the bud sites. Still providing nutrients in water.

Beautiful fall temperatures with lots of sunshine, the plants enjoyed the great growing conditions. Buds are growing larger. I did run out of all my Advanced Nutrients. I just have the CalMag left. So what might the plant need to finish? I gave it a shot of Miracle-Gro 24-8-16 to be sure that there is adequate nitrogen for the plant's final push to the finish. There should be no need for me to try to flush nutrients from the soil in 2 weeks in this manner. I will naturally supply any needed water. Such as I did this week during the nice dry days. But it rains heavily today and the forecast for the next few days looks grey. I have had another session of picking off the larger leaves.

Mostly cloudy days with some rain. Covered the plant on 2 nights to protect from frost. Enough rain arrived that I only had to water once. The leaves of this unidentified plant are a darker green than the C B Dream plant that I grew this year. The buds are a different shape than most varieties that I have seen in the past 3 years of growing pot.

October 20, I spent an hour trimming the fan leaves with the sun on my back, it was a very pleasant job. I took lots of photos in the hopes of checking Crop King website for matching photos of CBD strains. Cloudy days for most days. Cool day time temperatures and night time temperatures at near frost levels. This plant could be CB Diesel a CBD-only strain which has Cannabidiol levels of up to 20% with minimal levels of THC of less than 1%; or CB Dutch Treat which is low in THC (only 4%) and high in CBD (8%). The pictures on the Crop King web site are very poor in quality. Looked at photos by GrowDiaries people who grew these strains, but they did not look the same as my plant. The search goes on.

Harvesting began on October 22. I spent about 20 hours trimming the very sticky buds, which reminded me of the 30 to 1 CBD plants I had last year; Charlette's Angel and Doctor Seedman. I took lots of photos again in the hopes of making a good guess at what Crop King strain this Surprise CBD could be. October 28, all the buds and sugar leaves are presently drying in a screened net in the dark basement. There are 2 fans, a dehumidifier and a Humidex running. November 3, buds are dried and now in the curing process. The buds and sugar leaves are now all in bottles. Dried bud weight is 367 grams; sugar leaf weight is 135 grams. I found a better photo of CB Diesel on another Canadian seed seller's web-sight called Beaver Seeds. My plant looks a lot like their photo of the CB Diesel.
