NewGuy1 I was actually 1/2 on the PL and 1/1 on the NL as a replacement. Paper towel method worked great. Beans put in soil as soon as the tap root was 1/4 inch

NewGuy1 Day 9th for both. NL is taking off quicker than the PL but both look strong. Had to bring them inside for a few nights due to temps in the mid 20s

NewGuy1 This was a very hot week. The NL is going strong but PL is struggling a bit. Both got a tap water overwatering from an unexpected guest a few days ago...

NewGuy1 The PL must have been stunted from heat stress a couple weeks ago. It continues to grow but the NL significantly outperforms it. NL was big enough to start LST this week. NL also is finally starting to smell like a skunk

NewGuy1 The purple lemonade is just too runty and won’t produce much so I removed it. Popped a new seed.
The Northern Lights is clearly going strong. After another bend for more LST I noticed multiple flower sites already! Starting to have a slight skunk smell

NewGuy1 Noticed a couple rust colored spots. Trying to address the issue with calmag although Rita not chronic at this point.
NewGuy1 Buds are finally starting to stack. They are sticky and the smell is really coming through now. Nothing overwhelming though. I need to be within about 10 feet of the plant to small it

NewGuy1 Another week down. The white pistils are coming back after I mistakenly sprayed the flowers with trifecta. The flowers are getting really frosty

NewGuy1 Buds are really starting to swell now. I’m also seeing almost all cloudy trics. I think we’re on the home stretch.
NewGuy1 I’ll update once the dry and cure is complete.
Update: I ended up having a 6 day dry with these buds. After trimming I ended up with 21 grams of flower and about a half gram of kief. Today I have the first small nug an early smoke test after 14 days curing. The bud was very sticky but felt smooth in the grinder. The smoke wasn’t wonderful as it still needs more time to cure but the effects were strong. I pulled this plant a little early so it’s very much a head high. Overall I’m happy with the results. This was my first grow so mistakes were made but in the end I harvested 21 grams of my own homegrown bud.
First harvest is in the books. It’s a modest harvest as I believe I made a slight over watering mistake early on. This along with heat stress around the same period really stunted this plant. The smell and look of the bud is amazing. It’s mainly earthy with some citrus hiding in there. I’ve officially been sold on bud washing. My rinse bucket had a spider and multiple smaller bugs floating in it.
