Soaked the seeds in water for 24 hours until they sunk then transfered to paper towel for 2 days until they cracked open slightly. Placed the seeds in jiffy pellets and photos above are after 1 week. 2 Seeds are pretty strong the other not so much only have space for about 2 plants any way so not too bothered. First ever grow so go easy on me!

Completely underestimated airflow and temperature control. Rookie error definitely. Was going to plant into smaller pots then transplant but read its probably best to plant autos straight into the final pots so went ahead with that. Went for the biggest pots I could fit into the box. Using biobizz light mixture and added dolomite lime can't remember exactly how much but not loads had it lying around and thought I might as well just to be safe from acid build up in the soil. Biobizz's website said to run water through the soil to activate it about 24-48 hours before planting so did that. Let the soil dry out over a few days in the grow box cause didn't want to waterlog the roots. After the top of soil had dried out planted the seedlings and gave the smaller one to my mate as he wanted to try it after growing mushrooms. Since then been misting with water every day trying to be careful not to overwater. Been reading more into humidity and trying to increase it but kinda struggling think my extractor fan is a bit too powerful and sucks all the air through really quickly.

Had an absolute nightmare this week. The upstairs power in my university house blew out so had to run an extension upstairs but could only have the lights on for about 8-10 hours as I had to hide the box in my friend's room as the fuse box was in the wardrobe where I was keeping it! Probably stunted growing a bit and confused the plants with odd light schedules but oh well. Bought a small ultrasonic humidifier in the hope it would increase the humidity of the box but my thermometer only reckons its gone up by about 5% even though it is on all day. Starting to think about training the plants as I don't want them getting massive and also want as many colas as possible. Started to properly water the plants now gave them about 500ml of mixed Bio-Grow fertilizer about every 2 or 3 days mainly judging it based on how damp the top of the soil it. Probably could do with another light as the plants lean towards the centre, however, I've just been turning the pots every now and then to get some even growth.

Back on track after the power has been fixed. Started training the plants trying to get the undergrowth to come out and match the main stem. Amazed how quickly the plants recover and start pointing back towards the light. Started by bringing down the main stem. Just started to pull the main stem around a little bit and also pull out the undergrowth as they've grown very quickly since the main stem has been brought down. Fed the plants with 500ml of the mix on Monday and then a litre of the mix on Thursday probably will give them another litre on Sunday depending on the soil dampness. Everything seems to be going well! If anyone has got any tips on the best way to bend the plants please let me know as I'm kinda guessing but think its going okay. Bought a PH pen also as that soil probe I had was rubbish. Biobizz says their soil stays around 6 pH but I'm worried about buildup so might check a bit of runoff at some point. Plants starting to smell a bit nice citrus smell and classic bud smell when you open the door. Plants are starting to really smell now, accidentally ripped a few leaves with lst probably should have started earlier than I did as there is so much undergrowth now and the stem is getting pretty firm its hard to bend it over a lot

What are people's rules regarding watering and fertilizers? Not sure if i'm underwatering/overwatering. What would you normally expect a plant to drink each week durings the different stages of its life?

Watering- Enough to saturate the medium but only when dry (To test if dry poke your finger into the soil about an 1"-2", if dry you can water. Second way of telling if dry is by lifting your pot as if its full it will be heavier than when dry.. test both so you know when its dry. In terms of nutrients, use 1/2 the recommended dose of the nutrient line you use, and in some cases 1/4 strength then work your way up little by little. The first 4 weeks you shouldn't need to use any nutrients as your growing in soil which already has enough nutrients in to last you the first 4-5 weeks, some cases, 6. You'll know as your plant will show signs of deficiencies if it neeeds nutrients, then would be the best time to act upon using them as you don't want to over feed with nutrients and get nutrient burn which will slow down your growing process. Thats just a short answer, any help required.. drop me a message. Hope this helps.

Accidentally broke the main stem this week on plant A. Only lost the very top so wasn't too bad. The plant has recovered pretty quickly and the two stems just below it have taken over. Decided to remove some fan leaves to try and get more light to the lower possible bud sites. Think its just coming into pre flower noticed a few pistles on some of the more established bud sites hopefully will show better in a few days.

Flowering properly started now. Started adding bloom nutrients. Think I'm gunna build a scrog net because the plants keep getting too close to the light.

As this is my first grow I'm unsure about when is best to harvest. Is the best way to go by the colour of the pistles? Also if anyone has any idea how long they reckon until its done? Need to move out next weekend 😩

When roughly 2/3 of the pistils have turned red and retract is an ok indication. It is best to go off of the trichome colors however. You can look at the trichomes a few different ways. You can take a photo and then zoom in on the photo, for some people the camera is good enough that they can see the trichomes up close. Another way is to buy a jewelers loupe that has 60x magnification. Or a digital jewelers loupe. You want most of the trichomes to be cloudy white in color just turning to an amber color. I find that this gives me an optimum desired effect. Good luck!

Hi @Jallow! Pistils can be a clue, if you noticed that new pistils have stopped appearing and old pistils have almost all turned red and curly, but the best way to ensure it's the right time is to look at the trichomes with a magnifier/microscope. Clear/Transparent/Skinny trichomes mean it's too soon, Milky/Cloudy/Fat trichomes mean the harvest window is open, Amber trichomes mean the harvest window is ending, and THC is degrading. Looking at your last pictures, I think you're 3 to 4 weeks from harvest. I'd recommend to keep on feeding for at least 2 weeks, then give it a good 10-15 days flush depending on the trichome's evolution. Hope this helps, I'll be around, keep us up-to-date and happy growing!

It looks to me like they need 2 more weeks at least; the calyxes still have to swell and the pistils have to retract and turn red. The calyxes are the seed pods, in this case empty, when swollen they give the buds their fat look.
