Summer has come in its fullness finally. Blue sky and the sun is shining bright 15 hours a day. It is very hot here in Barcelona these days, about 35ºC during the day and 24ºC in the night. So I have put a little greenhouse on them to keep the humidity constant. The little ones will appreciate it.
What advice can you give me for proper growth and flowering outdoors? It is summer and the temperature here is high, 35ºC in the sun and the humidity is around 30%. Is it better to expose it under the direct sun or semi shade? Shall I do a LST or do I let it grow naturally? Than
This is my regime for outdoor girls, sow seed directly into 9/10 cm pots (half litre) in a glasshouse which is painted with glasshouse shading, so it full on sun for a young plant, they'll stay in there for 3 or 4 weeks before being planted out in their final positions in full sun, each plant gets about a square metre which will be well dug over with added loam based compost, this has always worked very well for me. Crece a buen ritmo. La temperatura ambiente ha bajado unos grados (25º - 19º) y eso parece que le ha favorecido. Crece fuera del invernadero ahora. He empezado a abonar ligeramente con auto boom nutrients.
A pesar del calor de cierto días, está siendo un verano bastante extraño. Creo que el silicio las está ayudando a soportar mejor las altas temperaturas y las plagas. El neem y el própolis han ayudado mucho para que no se acerque ningún insecto indeseado, ni moscas, arañas, ni trips, ni hongos. A pesar de ello es posible que no den una gran producción. Ya veremos!.
El LST para esta variedad no es muy recomendable. La planta crece pequeña, compacta y con poca ramificación por lo que he tenido que abandonar el LST.
La planta es muy pequeña en altura a pesar de haber recibido todos los cuidados necesarios. Seguramente sea por las altas temperaturas, no respondió bien al LST ya que no ramificó mucho. La cola principal es pequeña y compacta. Dará muy poca producción. Un pena, no creo que vuelva a cultivar esta cepa.
Esta semana las flores han engordado mucho. La planta es super baja y por lo tanto las flores han salido muy compactas.
Es una pena que la ola de calor limitará tanto el crecimiento.
Por otro lado estoy super satisfecho con la arena de neem y el propolis como insecticida. Sin duda alguna la mejor solución para mantener las plagas a raya si empiezas a usarlo desde una etapa temprana de crecimiento.
