Today (06-06-2021) I put 5 seeds from Royal Queen Seeds in peat pallets. This round is just to determine if I like Autoflowers or not. I have searched for a fast-growing strain just to see HOW fast it is. I do believe hydroponics are great for that purpose. If everything goes as planned and hoped I will harvest before the 9th of august. That is my goal. There is also a freebie Northern Light from RQS in my system. This one is a bit slower and just to fill the gap. Because this is an auto flower I probably won't update as often as I am used to.
08-06-2021: 3 ladies are showing their heads a bit. Not enough though to say they are germinated. Swapped Alipanel with a 300W SP3000 from Mars Hydro. Mars Hydro sent me this light to test it against the TSL2000 but that is still in flower for about 9 or 10 weeks so I decided tot test this lamp on these autoflowers.
09-06-2021: 4 out of 5 are germinated. Turned lights on now for 18 hours. (I do believe they need some darkness). Set at 40cm@50%
12-06-2021: All 4 have the second set of leaves forming so I call it a week. Vegetation can start now.
13-06-2021: 4 out of 5 made it (and the spare one). Let the one that didn't germinate sit for another few days. By end of next week she must be up or I will terminate it.
22-06-2021: Well all seems ok to me. First time autoflowers for me so no clue what to expect. It almost looks like flowering is already starting. Well, we just wait and see. PH is dropping every now and then so have to find out what causes this. EC is just on the low side so it can't be the reason
06-07-2021: Nothing special to tell, all doing well consuming roughly 9 liters daily together. Some alga on the sprinklers so added some peroxide. Love these autoflowers
17-07-2021: Growing pretty fast. Went away for a week and now they are more then twice the size :). Put lights on 18 hour schedule and added a Bruce Banger from Seedsman to germinate. It is there to be a mother for my next round. Because of the height difference I have added a 60W Blurple Led above it. The Auto's are flowering nice but stretching a bit now, I think because there os not so much space.
Growing very fast.. Added a fan to circulate air between them because they are too close now. Should I defoliate? Still two weeks to go.
Probably a leak somewhere. Now using 36 liters a day. Still growing but not so fast anymore. Breeder says they should be finished next Sunday (9 weeks) but I believe they need at least a week longer but probably two.
Almost harvest time :) Watermelons in front are looking great, the ones in the back are just a bit slower. Curious about the total harvest because it looks a lot less then normally (but I have to keep in mind that it's only 300W).
18-08-2021: Still getting bigger. No big buds at all but definitely a lot of them. Right now on an EC of 0.8 for a day or 3-4. Than harvest time (probably this weekend). Need the lamp for my comparison round so she must hurry up. Trimming will be tough I guess, a lt of leaves in the buds.
19-08-2021: This is going to be a prayer without end. So I planned to start harvesting from today. However, it seems as if they have decided to make some buds after all. Lots of white slopes and here and there completely clear peaks. I'll leave them for a few more days anyway. I'm really curious about how much will come out. I think I'll be able to hit the 400 dry soon. It contains beautiful weed, but also pieces that I think ... well that goes directly with the clipping waste. This is very special.
Took a lot longer than told by RQS so because of that not the full stars. Buds are a bit on the smaller hand. Probably normal for auto flowers, no experience with that. Total Yield is acceptable. No issues with mold or bugs
