Right so I’ve got my second grow in the soil today. It’s a fastbuds auto CBD 20-1. Really looking forward to seeing what effects a high cbd strain has on me. Her names Florence.
Germination day 1 (4/6/21).
Seed has been soaking in room temp water for about 12 hours.
I made up a batch of soil.
10 parts multi purpose compost
10 parts coco coir
3 parts perlite
2 parts vermiculite
1/2 part blood fish and bone
I soaked the soil in 500ml of 6.5 ph water. It’s bottled water at 7.8 ph which I lowered to 6.5 using distilled malt vinegar it took 4 drops per 100ml to get to 6.5.
Put the seed in the soil with a sprinkle of great white mycorrhizae, the pot went into the propagator and set to 23 degrees c.
🤞
Day 1. Florence popped her pretty little head out today 🌱 so I’ve turned her lights on to 18/6 as recommended on the fastbuds website. I will leave her in the propagator for a few days to keep the humidity levels up.
Day 2. Had to free Florence from her shell as she was struggling to get free.
Day 3. All looking good.
Day 4. Growing
Day 5. Going to take the propagator lid off as we’ve got a couple of hot days coming up, would rather have less humidity then for her to cook .
Day 6. Watered with ph 6.4 water from a spray bottle. Second set of true leaves look like they are slightly twisted.
Day 7. End of week 1 for Florence and it’s been a hot one. She will be moving into the veg cabinet at the weekend and I still haven’t fully sorted out the airflow. It’s fine for chillis but I fear too hot for a seedling. My advice for that is to always get a fan bigger than you think you need. I cheaped out and got a 4 inch which on paper is fine for my size grow room but I’m now stuck between making more inlet vents and losing negative pressure.
Day 10. Leaves are looking a little droopy. Maybe I let her dry out a little too much between watering.
Watered 100ml ph6.2 with a drop of cal mag and I small pinch of mycorrhizae.
A few hours after watering the leaves are much better.
Day 12. Repotted Florence into her final pot today and moved her into the veg cabinet. Watered with 300ml ph6.3 water
I put a new 4 inch hole between veg and flower cabinet and added another 4 inch passive vent to the veg cabinet. I still have negative pressure but only just able to hold up a piece of tissue paper. Still think I may upgrade to a 6 inch fan for the whole setup.
Day 14. 300ml of ph’d water
Florence week 3
Day 15. POWER CUT!!
We had a power cut during the night from about 3am. I had to evacuate my other grow into the house as it was stinking up the street. I left Florence where she was so she would be under her light when the power comes back on. She’s was without light for 10 hours total but 3 of those were during her usual dark hours. Hopefully this hasn’t stressed her too much and she can quickly get back on track.
Day 17. Coming along nicely, will probably do some LST over the weekend.
Watered ph 6.4 with a pinch of mycorrhizae and about 0.1ml of cal mag.
Day 19. Did first bit of LST on Florence, she’s still quite short so it was only a light bend so I will probably do a bit every day or so to get her used to it.
Day 20. Florence responded well to the LST from yesterday so I have done a bit more to get the lower bend a bit tighter.
Watered 500ml ph6.3 water with 0.1 cal mag and a pinch of mycorrhizae.
Day 21. Another slight adjustment to LST to finish the week.
Day 23. Watered with a bit of cal mag and mycorrhizae. Adjusted LST.
Day 25. Moved LST of main stem above the next set of branches. Also tucked some leaves to expose lower branches. Noticed the first pre flowers.
Day 26. Lower branches starting to come through nicely. Watered 1l ph 6.3 with first nutes at 1/4 recommended dosage and a pinch of mycorrhizae.
Day 28. Noticed first bit of smell coming off of her today.
Florence week 5
Day 30. Florence is really starting to take off now, she’s got secondary branches catching up to the main stem so I will have to tie them back soon.
Watered 1/4 pre flower nutes with cal mag.
Day 32. Tied down 2 lower branches to keep the canopy level, lots of branches starting to poke though the foliage.
Day 33. Watered 2l with 1/4 nutes, cal mag and mycorrhizae.
