😎 Hey guy's, how's everyone doing, good I hope 😁 So after a short break I'm back with another journal! This time I'm trying Auto's courtesy of 420 fast buds! I'm really excited to see what these seeds can do & produce!!! Especially as I'll be showcasing the new FC 6500 from mars hydro. This little beast boasts some juicy stats so again, really excited to see what it can produce. I'm also ditching the liquid fertilizer & trying soil amendments from living soils. Specialised Auto nutrients with the added extra of barley & worm casts! I've constructed a much better grow area with a lot more room which Is awesome 😍 Even though I was more than happy with my last critical grow, I wish I had more lol 🤣🤣 I'm germinating in a glass of water & then transferring straight to the 'pre cooked soil' ( more explanation on that later on. I'll be growing under a 20/4 light cycle, starting off at 25% light, increasing to 50% once out of early seedling & into veg. Then 100% for flower. Growing in Biobizz all mix & 20 LTR airpots ( a change from my root nurse fabric pots ) I have an ecotechnics evo fan controller which will control my AC RVK fans & heater. The humidifier is A humipro with built in Humidistat. Here we go..........4 beautiful strains to try so join in & follow to see how I go. One ❤️ Grow diaries. Update - 09/06/2021 - cooking The Soil - As I'm using organic soil amendments for this Auto grow, the soil needs to be 'cooked' prior to planting seedling's. This simply requires mixing 20 grams of Grow Auto per gallon of soil, then water. This will activate the nutrients to start feeding the soil. Update - 10/06/2021 - Germinating - Seeds have been soaking now for 18 hrs. Evidence of all tap roots can be seen already.. absolute result! The 420 fast bud genetics are ticking all the boxes so far! Transferred to paper towel & covered with cling film. Will check progress in around 12 Hrs. Update - 11/06/2021 - Germinating Day 2 - 420 ‘FAST BUDS’ is an understatement! Never seen a tap root bust out like that purple punch! Keep saying it….Genetics, genetics, genetics… ‘ The corner stone of any successful grow ‘ Me thinks they’ll be transplanted to their forever home today! Will see how their doing in another 12 hrs! See ya soon Update 12/06/2021 - Germinating Day 3 - Well, as expected they were totally ready for the transplant! Had to get the humidifier going as the air was just too dry up there. All's good & going great...can't wait to see when they'll start poking their little head's through! Until the next update, You all have a lovely day, whatever it is your doing. One ❤️

- Using LST on Auto flowers to control height - Hey my wonderful 'grow diaries community'. First time growing Auto's. Can somebody advise me on training techniques please. Can you top Auto's to control height etc. TIA 🙏😉👌

Best not to top, LST is the way to go, just tie down the main stem and/or branches too. With topping, this causes a "recovery period" for the plant, and generally none to very little growth during this recovery time. Due to the limited veg period of autos before flowering begins, any delays caused by topping eats into the veg growth phase, meaning smaller plants when flowering commences at around 3-5 weeks of age, which obviously then reduces the flowering potential and outright yield. Basically -- topping = delayed growth while recovering from topping = smaller plants during veg = less yield when flowering. Stick with 18/6 and avoid defoliation. You want the plants to grow as quickly and as fast as possible during veg and before flowering starts. The more leaves you leave on, the more energy your plants can make, which leads to maximum growth. Your autos need "sleep" to function properly, and 18/6 is the ideal mix between of being "awake" and growing and "sleeping" and having a healthy metabolism. Hope this helps, Organoman.

14/05/2021 WEEK 1 VEG! Day 1 On day 6 now since originally placed In water. Everything has been going fine, all 8 420 fast bud seeds germinated 🔥💪🏼 They popped through on Saturday & showed great growth over the past 2 days. I’ve had to prick them out today & just re plant them slightly deeper due to stretch. I don’t have a LUX or a PAR meter atm so I’m sticking with Mars Hydros recommended plant to light distance of 24” & 25%. Been having a nightmare with the weather atm. ☀️☀️☀️ Keeping the temp below 85 degrees is a challenge, the fans are on 100% which in turn is making it hard to maintain a good RH, averaging around 45-50%. It’s England so I’m hoping it won’t last for long lol. Would be great to have an air con unit & all the other goodies but that’ll just have to wait for now. Still firmly in the grasp of financial COVID repercussions. I’m hoping that being in the very early seedling/veg stage that the warm temps won’t have a negative effect 👎🏼🙏🏼 ‘ here’s hoping kid ‘ Back tomorrow with a daily update. One ❤️ Update 16/06/2021 - Week 1 Veg - Day 2 I don't know about anybody else in the UK right now but this weather can just bugger off lmao! So yesterday was a stressful day trying to get these temps & RH correct for the VPD. I started asking myself why the HELL I even started looking into this. Given my worrying nature, I've just caused myself a whole new world of stress LMAO 🤣🤣🤣 As this is all pretty new to me I'm learning every day, which is good. I've had my fans on 100% this whole time thinking that it would help, but really not doing anything. The intake is drawing hot air from outside so its just a losing battle. But, I have realised that In these early days of Veg, the temp Isn't so much of an issue, more the humidity. with a low humidity, my VPD was working out to be around +3 KPa which is further into the ' Danger zone ' Than maverick or Goose ever dared going! So I've adjusted the fans to an idle of 25% power up to a maximum of 50% power. this is allowing the Humidity to increase. After a lot of tweaking with the fan controller & positioning of turbo fan, I've managed to find some harmony in the dank tank! This morning I've taken my readings & believe I nailed it......for now. It will change by this afternoon & more adjustments will need to be done I'm sure. This is when I wish I had that DIMLUX controller as it would sort all this out on its own! I'm hoping that it will stay constant..ish. I'm happy I've managed to get my humidity up & those ' praying ' leaves are telling my I'm doing something right so awesome 😎🔥 Check back soon, hope everyone's having a great day! One ❤️ Update 20/06/2021 - END OF WEEK 1 VEG - (12 DAYS - 5 DAYS GERMINATING - 7 DAYS VEG) It's been a stressful week! New equipment, new strains, hotter than the sun temps but not hotter than Arizona! Lol But, I'm slightly more confident going into the 2nd week of veg. Learning about the VPD has really; just caused more stress. Every time I see the low humidity I'm just like wtf. Years ago I didn't even use a humidifier, was chuffed when I got it for the last grow...now I'm just like " F**King thing!! It was clear that it was the light. With my little electricity smart meter, I could see that instead of my usual 10 - 15 pence per hour, it had shot up to 20 - 25 pence per hour. Over 18 Hrs, that's quite a difference. Using the light @ 100% all the time is obviously not the one... So I had the light at 24" & 100%...I did some investigating. I found an independent light reviewer & tester who had done a full test on the @Mars Hydro FC 6500. The results stated that you can in fact have the light as low as 12" above the canopy while having the light at 50%. At 24" which is recommended, the plants didn't like the low power but loved it at 100%. But after lowering the light to 12" & 60 %, they are doing just fine. (& my electric has gone down again lol) - Lux meter Needed - VPD After looking into this VPD & giving it a go. I found that the temps weren't really the issue. Even though they were high, way high for recommended cannabis growth. If I was able to maintain a high RH, then I could still find a sweet spot. Maintaining a high RH in hot temps is hard, especially with an entry level humidifier. With the heatwave I Just couldn't keep a constant environment. - An AC unit & larger humidifier is needed - CARBONATED WATER Don't know whether this is going to make any difference but I'm going to stick with it. More research Is needed; playing around again, I decided to mix some CAL MAG into some carbonated water. I remember from school that Magnesium had a reaction when combusted so I thought...why not! As soon as I dropped the cal mag into the water, it bubbled quite aggressively. No fizz, just bubbles. I looked online & indeed, if you mix Magnesium ( MG ) with Carbon dioxide ( CO2 ) you get Magnesium Oxide ( MGO ). Magnesium is a macro nutrient, whereas Magnesium Oxide is a ' Ruminant nutrient ' ( I'm still reading about this ) All of these things are used in Horticulture, just need to establish if it'll help us or not. Been a good week all in all, love all this new stuff I'm learning & just can't wait to start training these beauties. Thanks to everyone for dropping in this week & hope everyone's had a great weekend! Back tomorrow for start week 2 Veg! One ❤️

Hey! Got a slightly behind past couple of weeks....not the one 🤦‍♂️ The girls are bounding on really well. I've never grown a strain that grows that so fast 🔥🔥 They all seemed to have responded well to the topping. Growth did slow down temporarily but didn't stop, greenery is being produced so I am expecting a growth spurt very shortly. I have to keep adjusting the light power as we are still experiencing hotter than normal temperatures. I have it on 100% early morning & late evening but reducing to 75/50% as & when required. The leaves get too hot so won't transpire correctly. I can now hold the humidity with new SonicAir. Dispensing 10 ltrs of water every 18 hrs! 😎👍 They are due for a top dress of Grow Auto next week, then I can start with the Bloom Auto & Barley powder. They have a new product called MYCOBOOST which is to be used in late flower so I'll be ordering that today! Still adding 2ml Sensi CAL MAG to every Ltr water. Just anxious & excited to see how these ladies perform under the stress.

BIG BIG apologies to Heather from fast buds & to Growdiaries & anyone who follows. The past few months have been a massive struggle, not just with temperatures & growing weed but on a personal level. My wife has been very poorly & with covid and everything going on, it's put a massive strain on us all!! I've tries to maintain an active presence on Instagram but that's about all I've physically had time for. I've put this update together today, so far into the grow now it almost seems pointless. I lost my original Mimosa due to high temps & high RH. Moving into the attic at that time of year was a mistake. It has cost me a small fortune to keep things alive. I've had to purchase an air con unit, more fans & just more of everything to be honest. My purple punch is almost ready to harvest, any time within the next couple of days, followed shortly by Bruce Banner & Kosher cake. I wont be winning any awards for this Diary & I feel bad as I was supposed to be show casing what 420 Fast buds has to offer & I've failed...miserably. I hope you can make sense of all the pictures I've included....just a mass photo frenzy over the past few weeks. Thanks to everyone & all your comments. Wishing you all the best. One Love ❤️
