Already starting to flower which means I missed topping it in time to prolong the veg stage. I try to top all my plants but a few don’t get topped.
It’s likely been too hot for this plant which prefers cooler weather.
This plant prefers cooler weather but we’ve had some historic heat waves this summer. During the late June 37 C for three days period it bolted just like spinach or lettuce when it gets too hot.
Most plants were stunted by the cold weather in mid-May but this one was ‘dwarfed’ by the heat.
Aug 21: harvested.
Plant bolted during historic heat wave in late June. Earlier bubblegum was too early and was hit by frost in mid-May. Too cold, too hot…sheesh, outdoor growing is easy in some ways but also tough in others.
