First time growing from seed since 2013. Took about 48 hrs to crack and taproot to form. Took about another 48-72 hrs for it to break soil. These seeds are extremely old and so is this strain, from 2003! Will continue to update
A pretty dull week, but she's off and growing. I cracked two more seeds that I offset because I have no idea how the genetics on this strain are going to be. Seedling on GDP2 took a little damage because I was kind of rougher than I wanted to be removing the exposed seed case, but I think she will be ok and make a recovery. I have GDP3 in the soil now and waiting for it to break (if it does at all).
Bit of a hectic week compared to week one. Realized I was frying the seedlings with my LED wayyyy to close to them. So I adjusted the height of the light and it seems to be ok now. As you can see the leaves on GDP1 are fried underneath the new growth. I am hoping that is just from the lack of nitrogen the seedling has, seeing as how GDP2 is doing just fine at the same stage but with the light moved away. I added some CalMag and will start to introduce these two to Blue Planet soon enough as we push on. Pondering whether I should switch to 18/6 and let these girls stretch a little bit. That is some of the tightest nodes I have seen on such a young plant and not knowing the genetics well enough, I do actually want it to stretch a little more. If anyone sees a different problem with those leaves, please let me know.
Ok, so this week we introduced the two girls to some light nutrients and continual dosing of CalMag. Transplanted GDP1 into her 5 gallon resting pot for the remainder of the grow. GDP 2 wanted to come out of her solo cup intact but also didn't want to as well, I figured I would let her get a little more root bound before I started forcing things so that is where we are for that. Raised the light to around 32" and will keep it there for the entire veg cycle. This week we have some HST and LST for GDP1 and probably some HST if GDP2 can catch up. The cuts on the bottom fan leaves were done for sexing purposes. I sent them off to Farmer Freeman, they are feminized seeds, but as stated before they are very old, so I wanted to make sure the genetics were still there. Will also be increasing the nutrients to around 800ppm this week and really focusing on root development and if i see fit maybe even some clone clippings.
With both girls transplanted into their 5 gallon resting pots for the rest of the grow, we have vigorous growth this week. Sexing came back on both from Farmer Freeman, both confirmed female. Growth was stunted a bit on GDP1 with an early in the week FIM. Normally I would just top and train. But I figured why not try FIMMing here. GDP2 was FIMMed right before the pics were taken for the week. Blue Planet Nutrients dosing was taking up to mid level vegetation amounts, while CalMag has been dosed with each watering. For this week I have the holes cut out in the fabric pots already, and we are ready to really go at the LST hard, looking for about 5-8 tops per plant. Have done it in the past, now its time to really test these genetics on this strain. Clone dome is set up and ready, and cuttings will be eventually taken now they are confirmed females. See yall in a week :)
Plants are thriving with the Blue Planet line. The FIM on GDP1 has produced 4 new tops and with the LST I'm thinking its gonna be around 7 tops in total for the final stretch here. GDP2 is a lot more interesting, the FIM didn't really work out too well, I think I cut to low on the new growth, so I instead decided to flat out top GDP2. So she will be trained for colas with the main cola splitting into 2 on the side for now. Add in some Liquid Seaweed for some micronutrients and we are getting ready to really blast these girls with some nutes and see what happens. Three cuttings were taken underneath GDP1 for clones and placed in the clonedome for now. See yall in a week :).
Plants took very well as you can see to the LST and increase in nutrients. Getting ready to transfer them into their 5x5 tent with a Mars Hydro 3000TS. Spectrum shock will most likely stunt them for a day or two, but I think its best to get them used to the new spectrum before I flip to 12/12. One more dose of these nutrients in this amount and than we move into 10 ML per all and around 3000 TDS. Only one clone took out of 3 but that was later determined by my error than that of the clones. See y'all in a week, getting to be about that time to flip to flower, BRING ON THE BUDS!
Sorry havent been able to update for awhile. They are in week 2 of flower but these pics are from week one. Everything going smooth, wait till yall see them on thursday
