Three seeds of each variety were selected. Germination rate was 100% 👌
The seeds were kept at a minimum of 26 ºC during all process. The process was: 24 h on water, 24 h between Paper Towel and then they were transferred to Peat pellets as first "container", previously hydrated using a Bactrex solution at a dosage of 1 g/l prior to planting the germinated seeds.
The plants growth under fluorescent lamps (72 W - 6500 K) and under the sun (at 29º N latitude) , in a mixed mode.
The plants growth under fluorescent lamps (150 W - 6500 K) and under the sun (at 29º N latitude) , in a mixed mode.
I made the first transplant at sixth day. The soil is a mixture of: Sphagnum peat 75%, Perlite 20%, and additives 5 %. During the process 0.2 g of Mycotrex per plant was applied. The pot capacity is 0,4 l aprox.
It was necessary to water plants at sixth day, with 50 ml of algae, Bactrex and leonardite solution, after trasplanting.
The nutrients referred above were distributed on three waterings needed during that period.
Plants were transplanted to 1,65 pots at February 27th using a mix of Peat (70%), Perlite (20%) and additives (worm castings, dolomite, etc). Mix was hydrated with a mixture of Kelp Extract and Mycotrex.
Nutrients referred above were applied in three waterings during this week.
Lights were switched to HID 250 W HPS on March 2th.
GP#1 & GP#2 are being affected by a virosis or by a deficiency.
Nutrients referred above were applied on three waterings, incluiding the transplant.
Light intensity was increased to 400 W Dual Spectrum HPS.
Plants received a gentle foliar spray with neem at March 10th and also were sprayed with flowering enhancers at March 13th.
On March 11th, I transplanted the plants for last time. The volume of the pots was 11 liters. The substrate was a mix of peat, perlite, organic fertilizer, agrosil, dolomite, and calcium superfosfate. There is a table showing the proportions.
Mycotrex was applied during transplanting at a dosage of 1 g per plant.
This was the last growing week after switch to flowering period. In fact, I began to delete "daytime" hours since March 11th to March 15th (18 - 16.5 - 15 - 13.5 - 12), when flowering period will began strictly.
Nutrients referred above were applied in one watering.
Photo-period was switched to 12 hours night since March 11th to March 14th, eliminating a few hours every day. I set the point of the beginning of this flowering period at March 14th.
The plants develop vigorously under HPS and sunlight mixture. Every plant showed their first calyxes at March 19th.
Nutrients referred above were administrated in two watering. Plants were sprayed with flowering enhancers at March 21th, and also received a gentle foliar spray with neem at March 23th.
22-03 To 28-03 - Week 7 (Flowering 2)
The Plants continue elongating their stems slightly, while begin to produce flowers profusely.
Light power was increased to 600 W at March 23th.
Nutrients referred above were applied in one single watering. I'm using biologic stimulants on every watering mixed with organomineral nutrients. Plants were sprayed with flowering enhancers at April 01th, and also received their last foliar spray with neem at April 04th.
29-03 to 04-04 - Week 8 (Flowering 3)
There are differences between the heights of the varieties. I've tried to maintain all canopy at an equal distance of the lamp, adding different objects on the bottom of the shorter plants.
Nutrients described above were administrated in two waterings.
05-04 to 11-04 - Week 9 - (Flowering 4)
Plants received their last stimulant foliar spray at April 08th.
Nutrients showed above were distributed in a single watering.
12-04 to 18-04 - Week 10 - (Flowering 5)
It looks like plants finally centered into flowering. Organoleptic potential has been deployed drastically.
It's noticeable also, the poor stretching of stems, so the height of plants is discrete.
Nutrients referred above were applied in two waterings.
19-04 to 25-04 - Week 11 - (Flowering 6)
Plants stopped growing.
Normally, I can afford six hours of good quality sun radiation on my balcony when days are clear, but a lot of cloudy days have destroyed my expectations with this cultivation.
Nutrients described above were distributed in a single irrigation.
26-04 to 02-05 - Week 12 - (Flowering 7).
I've kept EC on a reasonable value despite of it's noticeable a great potassium deficiency on the older leaves. Plants under a mixed mode of sun+HPS consume a lot of water and nutrients, but cloudy days makes plants to evaporate less water and consume more potassium, making the plant nutrition more tricky.
Main bud of GP#1 was eliminated due to presence of botrytis.
Nutrients described above were applied in one watering. This was the last watering of this diary, with an EC of 0.6
Plants are fully developed and focus their efforts in stacking inflated calyxes.
03-05 to 09-05 - Week 13 - (Flowering 8)
I don't flush out because I think it's not necessary when you give to plants what they need on every moment.
This is the last week.
Plants were harvested at May 9th without any issue. The process last about five hours.
I'm using the same grow tent for the drying and curing process.
I've wasted a lot of time taking photographs in order to obtain a few good ones, so I'm sharing the best ones with you guys.
Yep, here we are. S.A.D. is a nice and vigorous strain, that gives certain homogeneity on the seedling. Columnar, but well branched variety, with thick leaves and fucking hard compact flowers.
The aromas are fantastic, with a mix of sweet candies and fruity base surrounded by a lovely musky smell.
When smoked or vaporized, you got completely stoned. I recommend it for pain relief, relaxing and as appetite stimulant.
The trip is the one that you expect from an afghan strain.
If you are looking for a compact vigorous growing and fast flowering plant, that brings you hard and highly resined buds, with great body effect, that's your choice.
This strain offered three different phenotype. Similar characteristics are: vigorous and well branched plants, with huge leaves and great inflated calyxes.
The aromas are discrete, with a chemical aroma combined with some citric and nutty smells.
The best of this variety is the effect. When smoked or vaporized, you can experience an uplifting and creative high at first, that slowly flows to a nice relaxation.
I recommend it for give yourself a boost of creativity and happiness, feeling the uplifting effect of the Nepalese high mountain sativa cross. Lots of laugh and joy with this little 'psico-devil' strain.
Wow! Special mention for this super strain.
Extraordinarily homogeneous plants! I germinated three seeds. Two of them struggled a little to break their shell, but then grew vigorously.
Plants are pretty and well branched. The aromas are stunning, with a delicious mixture of sweetness, skunk and citric aromas. Overwhelming!
The flowering stage is spectacular, with big and dense flowers that grows explosively, fully covered of "snow", that finally bends the stems by the huge yield.
I experienced some issues on vegetative stage, but related with my too acidic peat based soil. In fact, plants affected recovered perfectly.
On late flowering, GP#1 suffered botrytis also, but again a lack of ventilation was responsible of the issue. Once ventilation was increased, no more fungal attacks were observed.
The trip for this strain is awesome, in consonance with an overall perfect rating. A perfect balance between sativa and indica effects. You feel really high and stoned, but you brain and your body still works perfectly. Mind flies at beginning, with a storm of thoughts that enhances your creativity. When time goes by, relaxing and sedative effects appears and remains, while your mind calm down progressively.
If you are looking for a powerful and vigorous sativa/indica hybrid, with an explosive and fast blooming and a powerful hybrid trip, this is your strain.
