Plants started to stretch too much during week 1. I had lowered the light to 20” and increased the light intensity, that seems to have put them back on course. Two out of four seem very healthy, the third is ok, but slightly behind the first two. The fourth is growing mutated. Still watering lightly, in circles around the plants. No run-off. @ Day 14 - 1 plant is clearly ahead of the others, may start LST on her earlier, will see how the next few days go!

Overwatered the two in the back earlier this week on day 12, not paying attention like an idiot 😫. Will resume watering as normal tomorrow, day 16. Plan on starting LST this week, depending on size. Plant in the front on the right is almost ready now. The mutant plant in the front on the left has some really weird growth, but I’m gonna see where it goes... why not?! ________________________________________ Started LST for 2 of the plants on day 17. The other 2 are still a little short but will probably be ready for LST within 3-4 days. I have now (day 19) started LST on all 4 plants. First I plant started LST on, now has the lower sites starting to fill in. Wrapping up week 3. There is one plant clearly straggling behind the others. The other 3 (including the mutant!) are responding well to LST. For now I’m sticking to leaf tucking, and have only defoliated the couple leaves sagging into the soil. Over-watering from early in the week definitely slowed growth down temporarily, but seems to be back on track now!

Beginning of week 4, starting to see signs of preflowers. Expecting them to really stretch this week as they head into flower. This week I stopped using the Voodoo juice and added a small amount of Big bud. Using LST to keep them really low, they’re all 4-5” tall at day 22. Will probably start watering slightly higher volume as the week goes on. Will continue LST throughout the week. ________________________________________ Did some very light defoliation on day 23. Only a couple leaves that were on the underside, from the LST. On day 26, I clipped a few more bottom 3 point leaves that were on the underside. Nearing the end of week 4. Plants are on the small side, probably because of how early I started LST plus an overwatering issue a couple weeks back. Overall I’m happy with the amount of bud sites I’m seeing, hoping they really stretch in the coming weeks!

First week of flowering, expecting to see the branches I’ve tied down stretch a bit in the next couple weeks. The mutant plant actually has one of the sturdiest trunks of the bunch, still looks mutated but has some more “normal” looking bud sites that I hope can actually produce 🤞🏼. At this point I’m watering pretty much normally, about 1.5 Liters for each plant until there’s run-off. The plant that started flowering first was showing signs of nitrogen toxicity, so I removed all cal-mag for now, and will add back, slowly as needed. I also upped the bloom nutrients. So far they seem to be enjoying it! At the end of week 5, I can see them really starting to stretch now, expect a lot more to happen the next couple weeks as well. 2 of the 4 plants are now showing signs of purple buds, looking forward to seeing the colors really change! Right on day 34, I’ve added a 100w led in addition to the 200w I’d already been using. Just to give it that extra boost for flowering. Will start using more “complete” doses of nutes next week!

Beginning of week 6. Plants are starting to stretch and will hopefully continue for another week or 2. They are really starting to drink, was planning on watering every 3 days.. but after less than 2 days, the pots already feel light. Will have to switch to every 2 days, or maybe try higher volume of water. I’m trying to let the branches just stretch for a while before tying anything else down. I’ll start defoliating a little more on the underside as needed as the week goes on. By day 39, 3 of the 4 plants are showing purple colors. The 4th is a runt, and still may be a purple pheno, we’ll see! Still defoliating a tiny bit every 1-2 days, LST has mostly stopped but have been making minor adjustments to unruly branches. It’s now the end of week 6. Seems the stretch is really slowing down. Not thrilled with how short they are, but likely due to aggressive LST on top of the issues they had early on in week 2-3. This is my first time running autos, and there’s definitely a learning curve. Even with all my research, I underestimated just how quick/ unforgiving the vet stage would be. That being said, still super excited to see these through to the end, absolutely loving the colors they are showing, never seen anything quite so dark! Starting to get a very slight woody/ berry scent, that I expect will get much stronger throughout the next couple weeks!

Beginning of week 7, It’s always cool making it to the point where you can smell a strains unique flavors. The scent is still only minor, but coming in. Any LST at this point is just small re-adjustments to branches that have already been tied down. But overall it has its final shape. While smaller than I had originally hoped, going to do what I can to get these buds as fat as possible! At day 47, seems the runt of the litter is finally showing some formed buds, as well as some purple tint. The plant that started mutated, while still odd looking, has the frostiest leaves and largest branches so far. It’s now the end of week 7, time has been flying by the past couple months. The plants are mostly their final shape and structure, now it’s time to watch the bids pack on weight. The one runt plant is maybe a week or two behind the others, but I’m keeping it going because why not!

Can’t believe it’s already week 8! 3 of the 4 plants are going strong and are fattening up nicely, with noticeable gains each 1-2 days. Will introduce Overdrive later this week as it reaches it’s last segment of the life cycle. The runt is flowering nicely now, but has been sickly its entire life and is much much smaller than the others. Normally id probably replace it, but I just want to see how it goes.

Beginning of week 9. The 3 “good” plants are putting on bulk now, really see a nice difference every couple of days or so. These are seriously frosty, very high trichome density. For these 3 I’m adding Overdrive, and reducing the Big Bud slightly. The runt of the litter is actually starting to chug along, I’ve tied its branches out just to see what happens, still not expecting this to yield all that much though. The trichomes on part of one of the plants seem to be maturing much faster than everywhere else. Some branches are clearly more developed than others. I’m thinking I may need to eventually do a partial harvest. I’ve never done this before, but I still ha e at least a couple of weeks before I make a decision. Nothing notable day to day, all 4 plants I can tell will be ready for harvest at different times. 2 of them have some very under-developed branches and I will partially harvest them. The plant that is farthest along, the top 15-20% near the original main cola, is already showing about 15% amber trichomes. Will do a single flush today or tomorrow, then chop a few days later once dried out. I then plan on going back to regular feeding for the remainder of the plant. Next week should be interesting!

Beginning of week 10. At the point now, where I really need to start checking trichomes more closely. Some branches are clearly weeks behind, so I will be doing partial harvests. Planning on chopping the first part in a few days. (About 15% of one plant that was always ahead of the others). On day 65, I partially harvested one of the plants, I would have liked to wait longer but these were clearly done. Still most of the plant remains, will see how she responds! A few days later now. The now exposed buds from the partially harvested plant are loving all the new light, very glad I used this method. Nothing notable otherwise, all the rest are just packing on more weight by the day

Not much to do now, other than check trichomes every day or so. Other than the bit I already, partially harvested, the rest seems to be all within the same time frame. I may partially harvest a bit more this week, but I’ll see how it goes. Beginning to see some amber trichomes spread throughout. Would really like to avoid more partial harvest so I can give it a proper flush, as I have been using synthetic nutes. Will be keeping a close eye and taking it day-to-day, looking for when to start the flush.

Just letting them ripen up now. Will be partially harvesting a couple more branches that are really ready to go, in the next few days. Other than that they will all be ready around the same time, around a week or 2. On day 79, I partially harvested another one of the plants (different one than before). All the rest seem to be on track not need partial harvests. On track now to chop my first full plant on day 85. This plant has not yet been partially harvested like 2 of the others. I will be counting this as my “harvest” day as the others are not far behind and will be chopped in the next week or 2. Expect harvest details soon!

So I harvested the first full plant on day 85. The rest will be chopped in the next 7-10 days so I figured now was a good time for the initial harvest report. I will update yields after I completely harvest all 4 plants! In general, this grow gave me beautiful purple flowers with an amazing deep berry odor. This is my first time running autos, so there was definitely some trial and error, underestimated how different the process is from Photo-period plants. The buds on this strain were not the most dense, which is my biggest complaint. Lots of Fox-tailing (seemingly from genetics). All that being said, the colors and terps speak for themselves. Definitely will impress your friends, especially if they’re not used to purple weed. If you aren’t worried about yield, or have your sights set on terry purple buds... then I definitely recommend this strain! Please check back, I will be posting updates and a smoke report!
