Great start to this grow with all 5 beans popping within 48 hours. Just went for plain water in paper towels as this method has always been successful for me. Planted straight into 12L pots of BioBizz All Mix and now just waiting for them to all hopefully pop up from the soil within another couple of days. Will use the Greenhouse Bio Enhancer once the seeds sprout as the All Mix is quite a hot compost already.

Great start for these girls with a smooth first week... all popped up from the soil on the same day and have been growing steadily since. Gave the roots a soaking with a first dose of the Greenhouse Feeding BioEnhancer. Will let that get to work for a few days and will top dress with the Bio Grow in the coming week.

As you can see in the photos, these 5 young plants have absolutely thrived after a root drenching of the Greenhouse BioEnhancer and bringing the light down to 24 inches. Really into their stride now at the end of week 2 of veg. I have now top dressed with the BioGrow at a rate of 1 gram of powder per litre of soil... 12 grams on each pot then covered with a handful of fresh soil. This is less than half of the suggested dosage as I’m using BioBizz All Mix soil which is already well fertilised and I’m only planning to veg for 4-5 weeks. Only problem this week has been high temperatures at 30c plus and quite dry humidity but this doesn’t seem to be affecting these young plants too negatively. Planning to top each plant after at least 6 nodes have grown. Now all I need to do is keep them watered and enjoy watching them flourish for another couple of weeks.

We’re at the end of week 3 and as you can see these plants have pretty much doubled in size after another week. Very consistent growth from all 5 which is good to see. The combination of the BioEnhancer and the top dressed BioGrow seeping down into the soil seems to have given strong results from early on. Been watering rvery couple of days with plain water until the end of this week when I’ve given them another ‘root drench’ of BioEnhancer at a rate of 1g per litre of water. 7 nodes had grown on each plant so I’ve topped them on the highest node. Planning to let them stack up for another week or maybe two until switching them over to flowering.

Another great week of growth for these Chemical Brides. Looking really bushy now with plenty of side branches since topping last week, and nice dark green foliage. The fan leaves are huge, with some being bigger than my hand, and I’ve got pretty big hands. This week I’ve topped the very top branches again to give 4 main tops and all of the side branches are catching up. I’ve also defoliated by cutting off the bottom three pairs of branches and fan leaves, as can be seen in the pictures. Again, only problem this week is very high temperatures... Hard to control as the weather outside is so hot. Just going to let these girls tick over for another week before flipping them into flower.

Last week of veg for these Chemical Bride ladies. All going well other than very high temperatures slowing growth a little. Defoliated some more lower fan leaves to focus more energy on the side branches and tops. Also applied another watering of BioEnhancer. Having to pay a lot of attention to them this week as the high temps are drying the pots out FAST. So plenty of watering.

First week of the flowering phase and things are already looking promising. Pistils appearing already as you can see in the photos, and all 5 plants stretching out nicely. I’ve now defoliated all of the fan leaves that were on the main stem, they were huge and had done their job of providing energy to the side branches and were now probably just taking up too much water and nutrients and were too low to absorb much light. So now all growth is concentrated on the side branches, all of which are nice and uniform and giving several tops on each plant. I’ve moved the light to 18inches/45cm away from the tops for the flowering phase. Temperatures have been a lot more ideal this week. Applied the BioBloom powder as a top dressing, using the lower dose of 3g per litre of substrate, so 36g top dressed onto each pot. Love how easy these nutrients are to use. Very simple to weigh and top dress rather than mixing up liquid nutes into water every time. Much less effort and much less time consuming. And the plants look the some of healthiest I’ve ever grown. No sign of any deficiencies so far!

Firstly, bit of bad news this week, just one of the plants has thrown out a few pollen sacks at the bottom of some of the middle nodes... All the other 4 are fine, no signs of any stress so I’m just putting it down to one unlucky seed. None of the ‘nanners’ had opened up yet so I’ve inspected the plant for all I coule find and pinched them off. Going to take my chances that I’ve caught it early and it doesn’t throw any pollen out. Still plenty of healthy looking female flowers on it as well so I don’t want to lose those. But to be careful I’ve moved it away from the others and out of the way of the fans. Other than that, everything else is looking great. Conditions are all nice and steady, ideal temperatures, and a lovely spicy smell coming on already. Stretching seems to have finished and the pre-flowers are coming on well. I’ve ‘lollipopped’ each plant by defoliating 2-3 of the lowest nodes on each branch. Keeping it clean on this run rather than growing out any of the lower larfy stuff, concentrating all the energy on the tops. As you can see from the pictures, there is a big layer of mycellium growing on top of the soil after last week’s top dressing of the BioBloom powder. Looks like there’s plenty of microbial activity going on in the soil and the plants seem real healthy, so looking promising after two weeks of flowering.

Nothing much to report this week, just another steady week of growth. No more signs of any ballsacks from the plant that threw a few out, nothing but strong looking female flowers on it now. Been spraying the plants with water and I’ve wiped the tent down just to make sure there’s no loose pollen flying around in there if I did miss any pollen sacs. Conditions are all stable and these ladies have been on plain water for the past week. Onto the next one!

These ladies are stacking on the flowers hard and fast now! Every day I check on them they’ve swollen up even more, and they’re only half way through flowering! Starting to develop that nice early sweet smell to the buds and getting some great frosty coverage already. Just watering lightly now, little and often, and trying to bring that humidity down. Crucial stages now as those buds fatten up, always risky having high humidity in such a small space. So I’ve added another fan for more airflow and will try to keep the humidity below 50% for the rest of the flowering cycle.

I can’t believe how quickly and how big these buds have grown already! Only 5 weeks into flowering and the tops look huge, can only get bigger and denser with the few weeks that are left. Really low maintenance at this point, just light waterings of plain pH’d water every couple of days, plenty of fresh air and keeping the humidity down. That’s all I’m doing. Smell of the flowers is getting strong, lovely sweet and creamy aroma. Very thick and frosty resin coverage as well. All looking very exciting, just can’t wait to get these ladies finished up.

These ladies are looking amazing! The colours have started to fade towards the end of this week, with fan leaves yellowing and the flowers getting nice and dark with purple hues. Absolutely sparkling with resin as well! Looking like jewels now. They’re stinking pretty loud now so having to be careful when I open the tent, carbon filter doing its thing though. The smell in the tent is like a real sweet cake freshly baking with lots of icing on it. That’s just what comes to mind, ahaha. Very light waterings of plain water again this week, letting the pots stay quite dry and keeping that humidity low. Pulling off the fan leaves that are nearly ready to fall off themselves to keep the tent clean and tidy. The flowers are looking nearly finished so it’s just another couple of weeks to let them swell up and mature properly.

Finishing up nicely these ladies. On the final flush of plain water for another week, fading out really beautifully with some dark purples on the leaves and flowers. The trichomes are mostly cloudy with some amber ones here and there when I look through the magnifier. Just going to give these Chemical Brides another week to finish maturing then I’ll be happy to cut them down and hang them up.

Last week of what has been a really smooth and simple grow for these Chemical Brides. No deficiencies all the way through from the Greenhouse Bio nutrients, easy to use and really healthy and strong plants with nice flowers. Very light waterings of plain water just to let them finish fading and I’ve allowed them to really dry out in the last few days. I’ve been pulling off the dying fan leaves to keep things tidy in the tent. Gave them a final 48 hours in darkness before cutting them at the main stalk and they’re now hanging to dry upside down in the tent with plenty of airflow using fans. Plan is to let them hang for at least a week until mostly dry then it’ll be into paper bags for another week or so to finish drying then into jars to cure. Harvest report with dry weights will follow once it’s all dried and ready for jars. Been a real breeze this grow, thank you to Greenhouse for the supplies and the opportunity. Good luck to all in the competition!

Very nice strain this one. Got a nice balance of the cookies/wedding cake lineage along with the chemdawg traits. The buds are nice and dense, covered in trichomes and rich in colours from light greens to deep purples and blues in places. The smell is like sweet, sugary glue, with a gassy undertone… All plants had a slightly different balance. The flavour of the smoke/vape is a little more spicy and full but still sweet and fruity. The effects are more indica leaning for me, very relaxing stuff this and the strength can even be overwhelming for an experienced user if you consume too much too fast. Great for unwinding and just zonking out in the evening and very helpful for sleep, but a bit too heavy for daytime use for me personally. An enjoyable bud overall, with good bag appeal, nice flavour and strong effects.

Mixed feelings about this grow unfortunately. On one hand it was one of the smoothest and cleanest grows I have done to date, but it was disappointing to have one of the five plants go hermie on me… and that’s the only reason I can’t rate the strain itself too highly. It appears from other growers’ diaries that this is common with this strain, especially when using LED lights. Sadly I think the strain needs some more work to stabilise it, as a lot of growers are using LED these days. I’ll focus on the other 4 plants that grew without issues… 100% successful germination rates meant a good start to the grow. All plants grew through the veg stage nice and strongly and consistently and were topped after 2-3 weeks then put into flowering after 5 weeks. They were easy to train an stretched out into a bushy shape with several equal height tops and were ‘lollipopped’ to concentrate growth on the upper flowers. The flowering cycle started well but then the hermie appeared and I had to start being nervous and carefully checking the other plants hadn’t gone the same way but luckily it was just one pheno out of the five. The other four plants continued to flower well and were looking beautiful after the 6 week mark, with leaves fading to deep purples and the buds shimmering with thrichomes. I felt ready to harvest at the 8 week mark, with the majority of thrichomes cloudy and some going amber. The plants were hung to dry for 7 days, then cut down and trimmed and left in paper bags for a few weeks before being placed into jars to cure. The final dry weight of the 4 plants was 198 grams of bone dry trimmed buds. Not huge but to be expected from a cookies type of strain… more about quality and density than weight. The buds are very enjoyable to smoke and vape. Overall I am happy with this grow. Will enjoy using it but wouldn’t grow the strain again with the chance of hermies, and there are other strains that excite me more. I’ll definitely be using the GreenHouse Feeding Bio range of nutrients again, and would recommend them to any grower!
