deFharo Welcome to a new grow diary. I hadn't planned any new grows, as I was thinking of harvesting the ongoing diaries and closing the tents until the end of September, but Pev Seeds sent me 3 seeds to participate in a photo contest (thanks), so I chose one of them and I'm going to grow it in my biggest pot, an old school 11L square pot with homemade aeration and a stone base, since during the flowering weeks, this plant will be completely alone. For the same reason, I'm going to try to shape it with LST; this time I won’t have a problem with the width of the grow. The chosen strain is Dosidos x Purple Punch; I picked it for its quick flowering and the colors, which will make for some nice photos. To that end, I’ve polished my homemade photo equipment!! Strain information: Genes: 40% Indica / 60% Sativa Genetics: Dosidos X Purple Punch, Og, Purple Harvest: 400 - 450 g/m² Flowering: 45 - 55 days THC: 22.0 - 24.0% The seed popped through the substrate at 48 hours, and in the following days, the stem has stretched a lot. Starting today, this seedling will spend the nights in the grow tent and the days in the window until it's time to transplant it to its final pot. See you next week... deFharo Welcome fellow growers to the second week of life for this seedling. Not much to comment on, the seedling has stretched its stem and is in the process of strengthening it. Two days ago, the stem almost broke due to a fall; it was bent, and I've been supporting it with stakes until it has strengthened. Other than that, everything is going as planned, watering with pure water while waiting for roots to appear at the base and for the overall strengthening of the stem and branches. I've sprinkled diatomaceous earth in the substrate to defend against crawling bugs and rot at the base of the stem. Until next week... deFharo Welcome fellow growers to the third week of life of this sativa-dominant, fast-flowering strain that promises beautiful colors. The seedling is progressing, the roots are already peeking out from the base, searching for substrate and guided by gravity. So far, just waterings with plain water, and this week I will start inoculating the substrate with MM. For now, I'm waiting for a free spot to transplant it into its final pot, but I'm not in a hurry; for the moment, the establishment in the pot is guaranteed. The fourth week of life for this sativa-dominant strain (40% Indica / 60% Sativa) has concluded, and the plant has strengthened tremendously; the stem has become completely woody, and the plant is already developing its fifth node. The broad, textured leaves indicate great vigor. Therefore, this seedling has earned its transplant into its final pot today, an old-school square pot that I've made holes in the sides to facilitate substrate aeration. It's a cheap pot that doesn’t have an elevated bottom, but in return, it has many drainage holes, and to avoid losing a single centimeter of substrate, I've filled a plate with river stones that will also help with aeration from the base and prevent water accumulation. For the substrate mix, I use three types of gardening soil as a base, differentiated by their density. I add other specific components to this base mix, which I will detail below: 🍜🥗 SUBSTRATE MIX BY PARTS • BASE: Light substrate: x6 Medium substrate: x3 Heavy substrate: x2 • MOISTURE RETENTION, NUTRIENTS, AND DRAINAGE: Coconut fiber: x2 Perlite: x2 Vermiculite: x1 Zeolite: 7g/liter of soil = 75g Crushed charcoal: 10g • ORGANIC NUTRIENTS Homemade bokashi, enriched and aged from dry grass: x1 Seaweed bokashi: x1/2 Worm humus: x2 Dried blood: 10g Homemade auxins from black beans: 10g Goat and sheep manure: x1/2 • CLAYS 1g/liter of soil: Montmorillonite: 10g Kaolin: 10g Illite: 10g • MINERALS 1g/liter of soil: Pumice stone: 10g Basalt: 10g Dolomite: 5g Diatomite: 10g Phosphorite: 15g Azomite: 10g Wood ash: 15g Leonardite: 40g (4g/l) Before transplanting, I moisten the small pot a lot so it doesn’t crumble; I water the substrate hours later, and in the meantime, moisture passes to the surrounding soil by capillarity. I sprinkle my homemade auxins around the hole where the small root ball will go to promote the creation of adventitious roots. I buried the stem about 5cm because it had stretched a bit. This morning, just after finishing the transplant, I took the plant outside since it was raining heavily, and I wanted to give it a baptism of sorts. 👍 I plan to cultivate this strain without haste; I want to shape it completely, this time without width limits, because in the end, it will be alone all summer in my largest grow tent with my entire collection of lights at its disposal! I want to experiment with cultivation while controlling CO2; I'm waiting for a wifi CO2 meter and have planned a homemade CO2 emitter. I’ll keep you updated on the adventures, that is, if I don’t die from intoxication 🤞 since I’m with my plants all day. 🌴🌾🌾🤷‍♂️🌲🌲🌴 Well, ultimately, I want to recreate a Jurassic cultivation, with CO2 levels around 1500ppm 🤸‍♂️🐱‍👤🐲🦔, and a very thin ozone layer 😈 to see how far the production of this strain can go under these prehistoric conditions. 🙏🤩🤣... let the party begin!! 🙈💃 Right now, I’m structuring mountain spring water, freshly collected, to make the first watering for the plant in its new pot. I’m going to add 3% of my Activated Mountain Microorganisms in liquid form with a bit of honey and Ormus (Ca, Mg...) to regulate the pH. The honey contains many enzymes and carbohydrates to energize the Microbiology; with this mix, I make a quick inoculation of Microorganisms in the substrate. Normally, the mycelium starts to appear 3 days after watering. After that, I cover the substrate with dry matter mulch to maintain surface moisture. I’m going to do this first watering with 1500ml of water; I’ll add one liter to the surface and 500ml to the base. I must remember that the inoculation of Microorganisms is not fertilization. For me, this watering, in my cultivation concept, is vital. Under normal conditions, this first watering can last about 5-6 days. During this time, the roots will grow wildly, and I want them to find moist substrate and the microbiology reproducing and working in their favor, quickly dissolving pre-digested nutrients like the bokashi, leonardite, and worm humus present in the substrate, and starting the mineralization of organic matter and the chelation of minerals from the substrate. Additionally, it protects against invading pathogens. This ecosystem maintains a symbiotic and permanent communication with the plant and its needs through the roots... and there we go, mates! I hope to obtain a beautiful plant and enjoy this summer cultivation! Until next week... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers and also to those lucky enough not to be! 🐱‍👤👨‍🌾💧🌞 The fifth week of life for this sativa-dominant strain (40% Indica / 60% Sativa) has concluded. One week after transplanting to its final pot, the seedling has turned into a plant, and its establishment in the pot is secured. After a few initial days with a stable water consumption of around 90ml, the water consumption has been increasing since yesterday, and the plant's growth is noticeable, a sign that the roots are expanding. The aerated substrate and the first deep and calculated watering greatly favor root mobility; the goal is to completely fill the old school 11l pot in the next 15 days. I have several goals for this grow, desired but also conditioned by circumstances, and for that, I’m going to do a slow and measured grow without rush... For now, this plant is lacking its own space in the grow tents; I have it moving around, carrying its 6kg weight. I give it 2 hours of light in one tent, 10 more hours in another tent, and another 10 hours in the window taking in the July sun. In two days it will have its own space because I’m harvesting one plant, and in 2 more weeks, it will be left alone because I think I’ll harvest the rest of the plants from my joy garden. Once it has a tent just for it, I want to grow it with 100w of LED from a new lamp I'm waiting for. I've been trying to reduce electricity consumption for over a month since the bill has doubled in price. Until now, I hadn’t cared about consumption and lit my grow tents with many watts in the canopy and all kinds of support lights on the sides. I’m changing this temporarily by using several light timers and turning on the side lights cyclically... with this grow, I’m going to see if it’s possible to grow just with the canopy light and get decent production. Since I want to train this plant with LST without worrying about width, I think I won’t have a problem with just the upper light entry... we’ll see, the plant decides. 🌲👨‍🌾💧🌞 This week I started training, with ties on the side branches, and today, I made the apical cut because I’m worried that the plant might stretch too much due to lack of intense light, since the light in the tent where it spends 10 hours is far from it, and besides, it’s been cloudy all week. But since I’m not in a hurry to switch it to flowering, I’m calm. In any case, I will only switch this strain to flowering when the plant is alone, and I’m completely sure that no red spiders are left in my tents. deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers and also to those fortunate enough not to be! 🐱‍👤👨‍🌾💧🌞 The sixth week of life for this sativa-dominant strain has come to an end, and it has been trained with LST. Great week for this grow, the plant shows daily growth, the apical cut from last week changed the energy flow towards the lateral branches, which are growing horizontally, eagerly, and guided by ties to shape the plant to my liking and thus obtain a great canopy of buds that make the most of the light and yield a lot.... so I can smoke joints non-stop!! 🙈😁🤷‍♂️ - This week, two weeks after transplanting, the plant has doubled its water consumption compared to the previous week, I've done the second deep watering, which is very important for me because these first weeks are crucial for achieving maximum root expansion through the substrate and the consequent growth of the aerial part. To achieve this, I've prepared a very special watering formula: - I use structured mountain spring water (pH: 6.80, EC: 0.23), mix it with 2.5% Activated Mountain Microorganisms with pumpkin and chitosan (Ca, Mg, B, Fe, NPK, Carotenoids, vitamins, enzymes...) and sweetened with natural heather honey (Carbohydrates and enzymes). I've added 1g of my black bean auxins and 1g of Cytokinins to promote cell division and new shoots. - When I do the third deep watering, I will also do the last inoculation of Microbiology in the substrate, and then let the microorganisms take care of dissolving and mineralizing the organic matter and minerals present in the substrate. I will only keep the plant with pure water until the moment of transition to flowering, it may take a month or more, depending on the evolution of the grow and my decisions... because I am like God, in my particular Garden of Eden!! 🌞👨‍🌾👉🌲🌱 - I continue moving this big pot from side to side, looking for the best natural light, to save on artificial light later, 🌞🤜💡, all this hustle is also part of the LST training. The plant starts the day at 10:00 PM with artificial light and stays that way until 10:00 AM, then I take it out of the tent and place it in a window where it gets direct sunlight until 2:30 PM. At 4:00 PM, I move it again to another window where it gets the sunset sun until 8:00 PM. At this hour, I move the plant again and let it sleep for two hours; at 10:00 PM, I put it back in a shared grow tent until midnight when I take it to its individual cabinet... and back to start!! 🚜👨‍🌾🌲 - For the past six days, the plant has been in an individual grow tent, although it’s not the final one yet. This week I will move it to its final growing spot, where I have installed a new lamp in the canopy, ViparSpectra P1000 (100w), which replaces 3 LED COBS (150w). I save watts, noise, and cables, gain in brightness, spectrum, and mobility. The idea is to be able to grow throughout the life of the plant solely with this light, in an attempt to minimize production costs. - In line with this grow, I have started using two techniques that I am still experimenting with: The first is homemade CO2 generation. I received an ambient CO2 meter and have made two CO2 generators with 1.25l Coca-Cola bottles, yeast, molasses, and sugar. With the vacuum valves I use for my ferments, I let the generated CO2 escape. For now, I am adjusting the proportions to optimize the CO2 flow; there is no significant increase in the CO2 meter of the grow tent. The bottles are working; I have the CO2 outlet in the middle of the cabinet surrounded by four plants, hoping it helps them. Today, I will concentrate these two CO2 generators in the tent of this individual grow of this strain, as I think it is the plant that can make the best use of it, given its lifespan and current vegetative growth state. The second thing I am trying is disinfecting the grow tents with Ozone. Taking advantage of having them empty during the day, I am systematically placing an Ozone generator inside them until it’s time to turn them on. Additionally, I am also using it to purify my mulch reserves. I hope this technique helps prevent pests in my tents. I also take the opportunity to generate Ozone during the sleep hours of my current autoflowering crops, where I gather the 4 plants in a room waiting for wake-up time. I am trying this to test pest control against mites on the plants, as I need to refine a technique that protects against these pests during flowering without affecting the plant... I will keep you updated on the experience. Ozone (O3) consists of three oxygen molecules, and plants consume oxygen at night. I hope I don’t harm the crops with what I’m doing. If anyone has any experience or comments about problems with Ozone and plants, please speak now or forever hold your peace... 🐱‍👤 because I’m moving forward without hesitation!! 🏃‍♂️🙈🤞 Until next week... Now just growing two girls, and loving both of them... without being crazy, owner of more time, the box full of organic marijuana, music playing, me, smoking Gorilla Glue and singing from dawn, the stage is set... - This week good growth in branches, stems, and leaves, plus, I've done the third watering since transplanting, Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA) enriched with macro and micro nutrients (Plus), enzymatic hydrolyzed animal protein (amino acids) to give an energy boost, Ormus to regulate pH and provide Ca and Mg, and honey that contains carbohydrates and various enzymes, the following waterings, until flowering, will be only with structured mountain water. 💦 - Currently, this plant shares a grow tent with Magnum Auto, from which I still haven't eliminated the mite problem, three days ago I noticed the first unmistakable signs of red spider mites on 4 lower leaves, yes, there were two specimens nibbling on the small leaves, I cleaned them by hand, gave the plant a gentle spray with potassium soap and for now everything is going well in this aspect. To try to repel future attacks and strengthen the crop's defenses, I've done a foliar application with horsetail extract, which also provides a lot of silica to harden the tissues so that the damn spiders leave all their teeth trying to nibble on my girl. I will repeat this application periodically... 👨‍🌾💦 I've also sprinkled diatomaceous earth on the surface, in case any insect dares to stroll by, it will find a field of sharp crystals that will lacerate its body, until annihilating it with much suffering!! 😈 - One of these nights, fiddling around, observing, tying this girl, I stopped at the first two branches, thin from the shadow of the upper ones, I cut them without mercy, looked at them, lying and torn, they seemed beautiful and worthy, deserving of a chance... I thought it was the opportunity to take my first marijuana cuttings, I put the two branches in a jar of water and went to sleep. 🤷‍♂️🌿🌿 The next day... the decision to take two clones is made, I want to see the behavior and also try my homemade auxins as rooting hormone for cuttings, since I normally mix it in the substrate during transplants, I have previously made many cuttings from perennial or woody plants, never from annual or herbaceous plants. I have the same soil left over from the mix I made for the mother plant for the substrate, perfect for me, I've filled two small pots. To moisten this substrate, I've prepared a mix of mountain spring water with honey, honey alone is already a good rooting hormone for cuttings, I soak the branches for a couple of hours in this mix, while I wait, I water the pots. Before sticking the branches in the substrate, I make a straight cut below the node and dip the wet stem in my black bean auxin powder, I insert the branches into the substrate covering them up to the second node. I have covered the pot with transparent jars to keep the humidity very high, during the day they are in the light of a window, during the night in the corner of the grow tent about 100cm from the light canopy... how exciting!! 🖐️😍🤞 At the same time, I'm preparing a collection of new formulations of soluble organic fertilizers for the new season, currently I have six preparations in anaerobic fermentation, also an enzymatic hydrolyzed protein, very specific for the different stages of cultivation, with new components that I will start opening from October, at that time I will begin to test them and talk about their properties. I was going to talk today about the lighting system I've set up for this plant, but I'll leave that for next week... horror! I have a Gorilla on my back!! 🦍🤜😵 Until next week... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers and also to those lucky enough not to be! 🐱‍👤👨‍🌾💧🌞 The eighth week of life for this sativa-dominant strain has concluded, trained with LST and tortured with apical cuts! The LST training is yielding good results; this week I've managed to stop vertical growth in favor of strengthening all the lateral branches and shoots. There's still a lot of growing ahead, and the plant will continue to grow, so everything I do now to compact it will benefit me later. The plant already has a level canopy, with no less than 12 shoots efficiently capturing all the light from my new Vipar Spectra P1000 lamp, which consumes 100w, replacing 3 COBs that consumed 150w with lots of cables and noise. So far, the spectrum of this lamp, with a medium color spectrum of 3500K, seems to be doing very well for the plant; we'll see how it behaves in flowering and if I need to boost the reds. 💡🏮💡 - This week I made apical cuts to the branches of the second and third nodes; this is new for me since until now I've only made apical cuts to the top apex. For now, I’m observing the process. I also removed some large leaves to improve light penetration and focus more energy on the shoots. Currently, the plant has a rectangular shape, wider than it is tall, perfect for my purposes! 📟 - I also performed a foliar application with horsetail extract 🐴, to strengthen the plant's defenses, combat fungi, and repel insects... it’s a priority to keep this plant protected against pests because I want to focus on high-performance nutrition without distractions or blockages. - Fourth watering, with structured water from an alkaline spring (PH: 7.5, EC: 0.46. Ca, Mg, Si, Fe...) (with this type of water, occasionally, I provide all the Ca and Mg the crop needs), honey, and Activated and Enriched Mountain Microorganisms (MMA Plus), final mix with PH: 6.44, EC: 0.79. The plant has doubled its water consumption compared to the previous week; the root expansion in the substrate is yielding very good results, numerous roots are emerging from the base of the pot seeking moisture and guided by gravity. The obligation now is to keep the rhizosphere perfectly functional, maintaining a substrate free of pathogens, very aerated and alive. Microorganisms and strict control of moisture in the substrate are my allies for this!! 👨‍🌾 The two clones I took from the pruning of the two branches of the first node remain stable and firm; I keep them in the light of a window or in the corner of the grow tent, encapsulated to maintain a very high humidity level and waiting for some positive reaction! 🌿 And that's all for today, see you next week... The plant has outgrown the frame!! With perfect measurements of 54x44x50cm, I'm switching to the flowering schedule of 13/11h this week. As flowering progresses, I will adjust the schedule to 12/12h, while also increasing the light intensity. There's a lot of vigor and the plant is responding very well to the substrate. I'm watering it with mountain spring water (pH: 7.2, EC: 0.25), honey, and just the right microorganisms to regulate the mixture's pH around 6.40. This week, I added solids to the substrate, based on NP and trace elements, to dissolve gradually—1g per liter of substrate of Fish Meal, Dried Blood, and Guano Meal frass. The two clones are there; I haven't been able to remove their encapsulation, as they dehydrate quickly. One seems healthier than the other, and I've seen roots coming out of the stem. deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers and also to those who are fortunate enough not to be! 🐱‍👤👨‍🌾💧🌞 - The tenth week of life and the last of the vegetative growth for this sativa-dominant strain has concluded, trained with LST, tortured with various apical cuts, and grown solo in an old-school 11l pot with homemade aeration! - The plant is growing in a custom substrate, which so far has shown extraordinary performance, both in root expansion and in the development of the entire aerial part. You can check the mix of this substrate in the fourth week of this diary (https://growdiaries.com/diaries/111770-grow-journal-by-defharo/week/591961). - This week, growth in height and volume: 59cm tall x 61cm deep and 64cm wide (last week: 54x44x50cm). Numerous shoots are appearing from inside the plant seeking their share of light. Looking from above, I see more than 30 shoots, not counting all those in the lower half of the plant that I will enhance later with a scheme I'm designing for side lights with different color spectrums that will turn on cyclically, supporting my new canopy light, Vipar Spectra P 1000, which has so far improved the grow with a very reasonable consumption of 100w. It really is a luxury for me to grow just one plant, as I have all my resources and time to care for it and maximize its yield and quality. - Two days ago, I reduced the light schedule to 13/11h. I would like to continue growing this plant, but I don't have space. 🤷‍♂️ - The plant has a very high water consumption, averaging 1.5l per day. I water it daily with mountain water (pH: 7.2, EC: 0.25) that contains Ca, Mg, Fe... I add honey, which contains various types of enzymes and carbohydrates, and finally lower the pH between 6.2 to 6.4, using some of my fermented Mountain Activated Microorganisms or some of my lacto-ferments, resulting in an average EC of 0.60/300 ppm. In this grow, I am applying this new concept of very gentle, varied, and continuous nutrient watering to avoid root blockages and ensure the presence of all macro and micronutrients and their perfect assimilation. Yesterday, with the last watering, I added 0.7% of my enzymatic hydrolysate of animal proteins (amino acids). This formula provides an immediate energy boost for the plant and the substrate microorganisms. I apply this on rare occasions and always according to the stage of the grow; for example, I did it now to help with the transition into pre-flowering. - The two clones have failed, as the shoots wilted due to excess humidity. Although they are still alive and have roots, I will discard them, especially since I don't have space for them. GROWING TIP - HOMEMADE CO2 GENERATION - Over a month ago, I started experimenting with CO2 generation from sugar and fresh yeast. To measure the impact of this method, I have a CO2 meter inside the grow tent (70x70x160cm). - The ambient CO2 levels fluctuate between 358-368 ppm. - After several tests adjusting the amount of sugar and yeast, I prepared two 1.3l bottles that generated CO2 for 10 days until they ran out. Then I prepared 3 bottles with sugar, fresh yeast, and gelatin. This formula has proven to be more effective due to the amount of CO2 it generates and its duration, almost 20 days. - My goal was to create a prehistoric or Jurassic environment with CO2 levels between 1000 and 2000 ppm and to do it almost for free! 😁 • This CO2 generation system does not meet the goal by a long shot 🤷‍♂️... a futile effort. The maximum levels I achieved for a few minutes were 600ppm after sealing all air inlets and outlets. Generally, it hovered around 400ppm, and it also has the drawback that it continues to generate CO2 with the lights off, thus depleting itself. - Until next week... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers and also to those lucky enough not to be! 🐱‍👤👨‍🌾💧🌞 - The first week since switching the light schedule to 12/12h has concluded and pre-flowering has begun... this is a strain with sativa dominance, bent with LST ties, tortured with several apical cuts, and grown solo in an old-school 11l pot with homemade aeration! - The plant is growing in a custom substrate, which so far has shown extraordinary performance, both in root expansion and in the development of the entire aerial part; you can check the mix of this substrate in the fourth week of this diary (https://growdiaries.com/diaries/111770-grow-journal-by-defharo/week/591961). - Height and volume growth continues, the leaf mass remains intact with no signs of deficiencies, and a multitude of shoots are getting strong and already showing the first signs of pre-flowering. - I was thinking of growing with a mixed light schedule, 10h indoors and 3 hours outdoors, but after a few days I found some marked leaves from spider mites, I’m treating the plant with natural pyrethrins and observing closely every day, for this reason I now have the plant isolated in its grow tent with 12 hours of indoor light; I’ve gone two days without finding marks... I’m still observing. - This week I continued with light watering and microorganisms, with hardly any nutrients; on the contrary, I made a solid element contribution (2g per liter of soil) to the substrate composed equally of guanos (N, P, Fe), dried blood (NK), bone meal (N, P, Ca...), fish meal (N, P...), homemade auxins, powdered Humate K, Epsom salt, and Kelp. - Well friends, now I hope the flowering show begins!🌺, I’m going to continue this week with light watering so as not to disturb the plant; the transition from vegetative growth to flowering involves a big hormonal change and I want the plant to go through it without blockages. deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers and also to those lucky enough not to be! 🐱‍👤👨‍🌾💧🌞 - The second week of flowering has concluded... this is the cultivation of a sativa-dominant strain, bent with LST ties, tortured with various apical cuts, and grown solo in an old-school 11l pot with homemade aeration! - The plant grows in a custom substrate mix with minerals and activated with native microbiology, collected from the virgin forests of my region. 🌲🌳🍁🍂, so far the plant shows extraordinary yield, both in root expansion and in the development of the entire aerial part, where so far there are no signs of nutrient deficiencies or excesses, you can check the mix of this substrate in the fourth week of this diary (https://growdiaries.com/diaries/111770-grow-journal-by-defharo/week/591961). - I water it with pure mountain water and gentle mixes of soluble macro and micro nutrients, created with homemade anaerobic ferments and hydrolyzed products, with microbiology, organic elements, and minerals. 🦇 - The plant has plenty of good light, on a mixed schedule, 10 hours of indoor light and 2 and a half hours of outdoor light. 🌞💡 - I always use mulch (hat), with plenty of dry matter to feed the microbiology and maintain optimal surface moisture levels, thus facilitating the creation and maintenance of adventitious roots from the first centimeter of substrate.... 👒💧👨‍🌾 - This week growth has continued (+5cm), despite having the canopy light at maximum intensity (Vipar P1000) and very close to the tips, as I don't want the plant to stretch more than necessary. - Currently, the plant measures 70cm in height, topped with a huge canopy of buds that shade the lower part, there are many interesting buds in the middle of the plant and where clearly the canopy light does not reach, for this reason, I have installed 3 LED panels on three sides: 1 x 3000K + 660nm LED panel. 30x30cm. 36w. 1 x 7700k LED panel. 30x30cm 36w. 1 x 2800k panel 60x30cm. 30w and UVA-B bulb - 280-315-400nm (12w) ... I turn them on cyclically for half an hour each, this way I manage to reduce consumption by two-thirds (Total: 38w) and give light to the 3 sides promoting more photosynthesis and growth. - Today I also released the plant from several ties, they are no longer necessary, as the shaping of most branches is complete and stable. - Yesterday a small strategic defoliation of very hidden large leaves or those that shaded some promising bud, I like to maintain a large leaf mass to achieve maximum photosynthesis. - Five days without a trace of mites (red spider), after more than a year fighting against this pest, finally the treatment I gave her several days last week has worked without affecting the crop. It has been an advantage to stay with just this plant. - Taking advantage of the 2 and a half hours when I take the pot outside, I first did a leaf wash with 0.8% potassium soap, I let the leaves dry in the light away from the sun's rays for 2 hours, and just before putting the girl to sleep, I sprayed the leaves with natural pyrethrins that affect eggs and adults. Both products degrade very quickly (5-6 days), to finish I will do the last application of pyrethrins in two days. - Additionally, daily, when the grow tent is empty, I am putting an ozone generator inside it to sterilize possible fungi and bacteria, also as I read, ozone causes the sterilization of adult mite specimens. If I can keep the crop away from this pest, which has affected all my crops for a year, I believe I can achieve spectacular flowering and massive flower production. - In the last two waterings, I have slightly increased the concentration of specific nutrients (PK) and microelements, the plant seems to be assimilating all the waterings without any problem and with extreme vigor. High water consumption is maintained, watering deeply every 2 days. • The clones I obtained from this plant are still alive and growing, I will grow them in old-school 5.5l pots, taking advantage of the light that illuminates their mother. Also, when the time comes for them to switch to flowering, I want to test an acceleration technique related to the Florigen hormone, I want to compare both specimens to see if it is really possible to gain a few days in the transition to flowering while simultaneously slowing down the plant's stretch in the first weeks after the schedule change... Four deep waterings this week, each with different components and always accompanied by Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA) that help dissolve and mineralize the organic matter and minerals present in the substrate. This week the plant started to cannibalize the older leaves, a clear sign that the flowers are demanding more energy and nutrients. Overall the rest of the leaf mass looks good and healthy, to ensure the presence of macro nutrients -NPK- I made an application of a solid component mix to the substrate, at a rate of 2g per liter of substrate, consisting of various guanos, bone and blood meal, PK humate, homemade auxins, and fruit peel powder. Also, to give an extra boost of energy and compensate for the lack of Nitrogen, two waterings ago, I added 1% of my amino acids obtained from enzymatic hydrolysis of various animal proteins (N, P, Fe, Ca, Mg...), the amino acids are immediately assimilated by the plant and are also a great energy source for the microbiology. For the last 4 days, we've been in the middle of a heatwave with high humidity, to counteract the stress, yesterday I did a targeted watering to strengthen the crop with several sources of trace elements: Lacto ferment of 3 seaweeds with Efficient Microorganisms EM (BAL, MMA, AX), natural horsetail extract, potassium humate from leonardite (Humic and fulvic acids, K) with molasses (Carbohydrates, Fe, S, yeasts...), plus I made a foliar application with horsetail extract to provide silica and other elements to defend against molds and fungi. For the upcoming week, and in light of the number of shoots, I will increase the concentration of macro and micro nutrients in the watering water, I remind you that until now I have been watering with pure alkaline water (PH: 7.3, EC: 0.25) regulating the PH between 6.2 and 6.5 with my Microorganism bioles, the EC concentrations averaging 0.68, all to optimize the decomposition of nutrients, organic matter, and minerals present in the substrate, while also maintaining root health and allowing the plant to regulate its own nutrition, without forcing it with concentrated soluble nutrient waterings, so far I am very satisfied with the result... but the plant is asking for war and I'm going to give it to her! 😁 with my gourmet preparations of specialized macro and micro nutrients. • CLONES A+B The clones I took 43 days ago from the two lower branches are still alive and this week have shown evident growth, the transplant from a week ago to old school 5.5l pots is treating them very well, I trust in a good root expansion. These are my first marijuana cuttings, I think the time for my clones has been very long, I suppose that in future attempts I can speed up the establishment of cuttings by improving some mistakes I made. Nevertheless, they are moving forward and I am calm as I keep them with 20 hours of light on a mixed indoor/outdoor schedule 10/10, and I plan to give them all the necessary vegetative growth time until I am sure of their total establishment in the pot. Both cuttings suffered apical rot due to excess humidity, in contrast, Clone B has generated 6 branches at the node, and this amuses me, as I have started applying LST to shape this spider-like plant!! 🕷️, the other clone has two branches that are strengthening day by day, I have also started applying ties to begin shaping the seedling. For now, both plants are maintaining the moisture from the initial watering. - Until next week... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers and also to those lucky enough not to be! 🐱‍👤👨‍🌾💧🌞 - The fourth week of flowering is over... this is the cultivation of a sativa-dominant strain, bent with LST ties, tortured with several apical cuts, and grown solo in an old-school 11l pot with homemade aeration! - The plant grows in a custom substrate mix with minerals and activated with native microbiology, gathered from the virgin forests of my region. 🌲🌳🍁🍂, you can check the mix of this substrate in the fourth week of this diary (https://growdiaries.com/diaries/111770-grow-journal-by-defharo/week/591961). - I water it with structured mountain spring water with gentle mixes of soluble macro and micro nutrients, created with homemade anaerobic ferments and hydrolysates, with microbiology, organic elements, and minerals. 🦇 - The plant has plenty of good light, on a mixed schedule, 10 hours of indoor light and 2 and a half hours of outdoor light. 🌞💡 - I always use mulch (hat), with lots of dry matter to feed the microbiology and maintain optimal surface moisture levels, thus facilitating the creation and maintenance of adventitious roots from the very first centimeter of substrate.... 👒💧👨‍🌾 The plant has completely stopped vegetative growth and is fully focused on flower formation!! 👨‍🌾🌲🌷🌷🌷🌷 meanwhile, it naturally sheds the large leaves, now useless for this stage of cultivation, I'm not a fan of defoliation, I like to maintain a large leaf mass, because this way I achieve a great yield from the plant's photosynthesis and therefore growth, I only do small defoliations when I need to for functional reasons, in the case of this plant, I have maintained a very gentle watering criterion in nutrient concentration, it has been 8 weeks since transplanting to the pot and for about 10 days the plant has been signaling nitrogen deficiency, the substrate clearly no longer contains enough of this macro nutrient and this poses no problem, as resolving a deficiency is easier and quicker than an excess of nutrients, in fact, I have done two waterings in the last 10 days with my enzymatic hydrolysate of animal protein (amino acids), among other components, and all the upper leaves, mainly the new ones, are already showing the reaction to the amino acids with all the new leaves sprouting vigorously and smooth, with a perfect color, but what really fascinates me about this whole process is that the plant, on its own, begins to cannibalize the older or larger leaves, in an exercise of intelligent and sustainable self-defoliation, as the plant has marked all those leaves that have already fulfilled their function and even hinder the development of the floral buds inside the plant, but before, these leaves are giving their nutrients to the next generation, I let the leaves yellow until with a slight push they detach by themselves!... let it continue and long live photosynthesis! 💦🌞💡🍃 Overall, the cultivation remains vigorous and healthy, with no pests, and a lot of water consumption for irrigation, the formation of flowers along the main branches promises long and huge buds, I'm still not applying all the light intensity I want, probably after this week, I will add some lights to the tent to help the development and fattening of the buds. • The 2 clones of this plant accompany their mother during the indoor light hours and peek out the rest of the day at the window, totaling 20 hours of light, they are growing healthy, this week I did LST to start shaping them, I don't know the timing process for clones, I'm observing it, it seems slow to me, but for now they have a light spot in the tent and the small 5.5l pots are manageable to move around, yesterday afternoon it started to rain heavily, I rushed to get the clones and took them out for a shower and a watering of rainwater, fantastic, it rained for 3 hours and each pot retained 300ml of rainwater!! 🌧️ - Until next week... deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers and also to those lucky enough not to be! 🐱‍👤👨‍🌾💧🌞 - Fifteen weeks old and five since the transition to flowering... this is the cultivation of a strain with sativa dominance, trained with LST, tortured with various apical cuts, and grown solo in an old-school 11l pot with homemade aeration! - The plant grows in a custom substrate mix with minerals and activated with native microbiology, collected from the virgin forests of my region. 🌲🌳🍁🍂, you can check the mix of this substrate in the fourth week of this diary (https://growdiaries.com/diaries/111770-grow-journal-by-defharo/week/591961). - I water it with structured mountain spring water mixed with soluble macro and micro nutrients, created with homemade anaerobic ferments and hydrolysates, using microbiology, organic elements, and minerals. 🦇 - The plant gets plenty of good light, on a mixed schedule, 10 hours of indoor light and 2 and a half hours of outdoor light. 🌞💡 - I always use mulch (hat), with plenty of dry matter to feed the microbiology and maintain optimal surface moisture levels, thus facilitating the creation and maintenance of adventitious roots from the first centimeter of substrate.... 👒💧👨‍🌾 I like the pace of this cultivation, it's slow but steady, this week there's evident growth of all the floral buds, the self-defoliation, due to exhaustion, of the largest leaves, is exposing the long branches, filled with buds, now is when the plant is showing its more sativa side, I'm halfway through the flowering period indicated by the producer, this week I started to increase the nutrient concentrations in the watering water, mainly PK and micro nutrients. I've also added a mix of solid organic components to the substrate, I need to keep the microorganisms well-fed with varied food, so they are happy and quickly solubilize everything I throw at them 👨‍🌾💦🌞💡 These days, the onset of autumn has been very noticeable, with dropping temperatures, heavy rains, and the melancholy that this season always brings me. The plant is slightly reducing its water consumption, but it remains at high levels. This week I've included a portion of nitrogen or amino acids in all the waterings, from different sources, as the plant showed an early N deficiency in its older leaves and to help maintain the leaf mass to assist, now, in flower formation. And for this purpose, I've dusted off some of my first nitrogen preparations, enzymatic hydrolysate of animal proteins (amino acids), enzymatic hydrolysate of 5 protein seeds (amino acids), enzymatic hydrolysate of 4 algae and minerals (amino acids and trace elements), potassium hydrolysate of sheep wool (NK), and potassium hydrolysate of cow horns (NK), the result is good, the new leaves are growing with good color and vigor, still, the plant continues with its intelligent self-defoliation, and I only remove the exhausted leaves when they fall off on their own with a little push. The two clones have shown thickening in the stems, growth in the buds, and expansion of the leaves, clone A has begun to show a multitude of white roots at the base of the pot, clone B, with its beautiful structure of six spider-like branches, has a few days less in the pot, so I expect the same result with the roots for this week. Since the first watering, I've only been feeding them with some leftover watering water from their mother, the substrate has maintained optimal moisture for root expansion and I didn't want to risk saturating it, however, yesterday I gave both clones a second deep watering, with auxin and cytokinin hormones to promote the growth of adventitious roots and cell division. Both plants share a grow tent with their mother, they don't receive all the light they deserve due to the significant height difference, I've raised them about 35cm but still, they remain away from the canopy, I hope to change this soon when I reorganize my tents for the new growing season. - Until next week... The two clones receive 20 hours of light, 10 hours indoors and 10 hours outdoors soaking up the September sun, - I always use mulch (hat), with plenty of dry matter to feed the microbiology and maintain optimal surface moisture levels, thus facilitating the creation and maintenance of adventitious roots from the first centimeter of substrate.... 👒💧👨‍🌾 • No news, the plant continues to form flowers, while slowly shedding the oldest leaves, the palliative treatment with my amino acids and hydro preparations with nitrogen has halted the deficiency and the plant shows complete vigor and a magnificent appearance of the buds. According to the producer, the flowering of this strain is 9 weeks and I believe it will meet this forecast, there are at least 3 weeks left to fill all the branches with buds and for them to bulk up a lot still. This week 3 deep waterings aimed at flower formation, the common denominator at this stage for all watering formulas is my potassium hydrolysate from Leonardite with Phosphorus and molasses as well, I mix these components with various others that provide trace elements, vitamins, macro nutrients, and Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA, EM) with different formulations, plus these ferments help me regulate the pH of the mix. The idea for this week is to gradually increase the EC concentration in the waterings, I think the plant is at a crucial moment where it demands a lot of nutrition, the truth is this strain has shown and continues to show a positive response to all the feeding. I've tried to enhance the purple colors of one of the strain's parents (Purple Punch), when it gets dark at 8:30 PM and temperatures drop, you can feel the onset of autumn, I take the plant out to the balcony, the plant has shown purple colors, only, on the leaves that are aging, no issues in this regard on stems or flowers, although these show a very attractive green and bluish color. •• The clones I obtained from the pruning of the first two branches are continuing their path, and just like the mother, both plants are slow but steady. This week I did the third deep watering and the first with nutrients: A few amino acids from my enzymatic hydrolysate of animal protein and Activated Mountain Microorganisms with pumpkin, carrot, and minerals, all sweetened with natural heather honey. The response has been immediate, the shoots are reaching for the sky and the leaves show a perfect color, little by little both plants are strengthening, also, just like their mother, the branching they show is brutal, with a bit of LST and apical cutting the plants are sprouting branches all over... this ultimately translates to production!! 😋💐 Well, that's all for today... The aromas have exploded with this plant, it smells like peanuts to me, the trichomes shine in the sunlight and flood all the flowers! •• The two cuttings I took from this plant remain very healthy and beautiful, both are very branched, to switch them to flowering I'm waiting to harvest their mother and organize the grow spaces. I've started fertilizing one of the cuttings only with foliar applications, I'm keeping an eye on the evolution of the grow. Well, that's all for today... The mother plant continues to fatten the buds, they are very dense, sticky, and smelly, and for now loaded with transparent trichomes. The health of the plant is evident, with no signs of blockages or pests, the growth is slow, also slowed down by the drop in temperatures, the truth is that I am satisfied with the grow, but the delay in flowering is starting to complicate the organization of the grow tents, because I don’t want to, for now, light up new tents and I’m managing with two for the 11 strains I’m growing, but as soon as the new ones grow, they’re going to need space, I think this plant has a maximum of two weeks left... let’s see the evolution! • • The two clones I took have reached 73 days of life and one week since I changed the schedule to flowering, so far there are no signs of pre-flower, but both are splendid in their old-school 5.5L pots. They really deserved a grow diary just for them. The nutrient list above reflects, in raw form, the variety of weekly waterings for the 3 plants in this diary; the combinations between these components are customized with each watering and plant. 💦🚿 The plant continues its flowering process, the significant drop in temperatures has slowed the metabolism of all the crops, but still, this plant is determined to fatten the buds. I've never had such sticky marijuana as this; when I put my hands in to remove a spent leaf, the buds literally stick to my hands, the smell is becoming more intense and changing, it fills the whole house, complex aromas of fresh fruits and nuts, forest soil and pine... the buds are dense and cover all the branches, there's no trace of amber trichomes! 🤷‍♀️🤳 It's no surprise to me that the flowering stage in all my crops is prolonged, sometimes considerably; I think it has to do with the organic nutrition and the home I give them (substrate)... all good!! 💪👨‍🌾💃 And as I suspected last week, this plant has complicated space for other crops; this week I've had to set up my homemade autumn tent (60x40x125cm) to house this grow, a single tent for this girl and some light spectrums that I love (2100K, 3000K, IR, 660nm), the change has been tough since this season, I'm in rebellion against my abusive electricity bill and trying to optimize consumption as much as possible. I hope the harvest doesn't take too long, as turning on this cabinet gives me "mental hives" 🤪💡💡💡💡 • • The two clones I took have reached 80 days of life and two weeks since I changed the schedule to flowering; pre-flowering has begun in both plants. The test I did at the moment of switching to flowering, leaving one of the clones in the dark for 36 hours, showed no difference in the time of entry into pre-flowering; maybe I need to leave them in the dark for 48 hours... for another time! Clone A measures 69cm, Clone B 60cm, brutal growth of these two plants, both tripling the height of their small pot, a multitude of branches and a healthy, dense foliage are creating the ideal conditions for a great flowering... but I'm having a problem with all my current crops... they are growing too much, and I'm not just talking about vertical growth, but also the growth of stems, branches, and leaves in dimensions unknown to me... and it’s all due to the foliar fertilization I've been applying with my preparations, especially with my lacto-ferments of minerals, Effective Microorganisms (EM), and hormones. The lacto-ferments dissolve (chelate) the minerals, mainly phosphorus, the EM protect and strengthen me, and the hormones promote cell division and give energy to the buds. I've been separating a few ml. of the watering mixtures and making foliar applications, but the size of all the new crops is getting out of hand; I'm going to slow down this technique until I have more physical space for my pots... The nutrient list above reflects, in raw form, the variety of weekly waterings for the 3 plants in this diary; the combinations of these components are customized with each watering and plant. 💦🚿 Last week of life for the mother plant, the trichomes will be completely ready this week, the two clones I took 88 days ago and that have been on flowering schedule for 3 weeks now show a multitude of floral buds and an unquestionable overall health so far. The morphology of the branches in both mimics the mother, with many long vertical branches that will then be populated with buds reminiscent of their sativa genes. This week I did a medium and strategic defoliation on both plants to favor light entry. It’s been a great day because the harvested plant occupied a space I urgently needed; I’ve now reorganized all the crops and added some new lights. The last watering was done with the nutrients listed above, I don’t need root flushing, and to keep going against the grain, I’ve kept the plant under light for the last 60 hours... let the photosynthesis not stop!! 🌞💡 I’ve never handled such a sticky plant; I’ve rolled a couple of delicious and very strong charas joints, I’ve cleaned the buds, and the waste has been minimal. The leaf-to-flower ratio has been spectacular, and the yield is going to be optimal, currently 525g wet that are in the drying net... I’ll expand on data and opinion in the harvest week. ----------------------- But this plant has left two spectacular offspring; the clones now have their own grow tent and an ad-hoc light setup, they look beautiful and healthy with many floral shoots, I’m also expecting a great harvest from them. Dos semanas desde el corte, una semana de secado y otra de curado. Muy contento con el rendimiento y la potencia de esta cepa. La planta ha demostrado mucho vigor y fortaleza, también, un capacidad de ramificación extraordinaria, las ramas largas y verticales, con cogollos que aparecen por toda su extensión, muy de estilo sativa! También, perfumó mi casa durante semanas con aromas variados y muy fuertes. Este cultivo continúa con los dos esquejes de esta planta, ambos siguen el camino de éxito de la madre!

deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers and also to those lucky enough not to be! 🐱‍👤👨‍🌾💧🌞 - The plant has grown in a custom substrate mix with minerals and activated with native microbiology, collected from the virgin forests of my region. 🌲🌳🍁🍂, you can check the mix of this substrate in the fourth week of this diary (https://growdiaries.com/diaries/111770-grow-journal-by-defharo/week/591961). - I have watered it with pure mountain water and gentle irrigation mixes with soluble macro and micro nutrients, created with homemade anaerobic ferments and hydrolysates, with microbiology, organic elements, and minerals. 🦇 - The plant has had plenty of good light, on a mixed schedule, 10 hours of indoor light and 2 and a half hours of outdoor light. 🌞💡 - Since the fourth week, it has grown alongside two of my own cuttings. This grow has come to an end, after a torturous year fighting against mites and other insects, I managed to bring a pathogen-free grow to the finish line!! The strain has helped with its great strength and vigor, it responded very well to several apical cuts, the enormous branching capacity it showed makes this strain ideal for complex modeling with LST. I had a problem that I definitely identified when harvesting it, around week 14, signs of nitrogen deficiency began to appear in the upper half of the plant, I also noticed a slowdown in that entire part, however, the middle-lower part remained healthy and green, just like the clones of this plant look today. The reason was the strangulation of the stem due to a tie with very thin metal wire; it was from this strangulation that the plant began to show symptoms in an accelerated manner. The damage was already done when I detected the problem, the plant continued, but it never fully regained the growth capacity of that entire part... lesson learned!!🤷‍♀️ =============== The two clones I took are splendid in their old-school 5.5l pots, fattening their flower buds daily. I'm going to open a new grow diary just for the last weeks of these two plants; it has been my first experience with marijuana cuttings, and I really liked it. I wish I had much more growing space to make comparisons of fertilizers, lights, or growing techniques... everything will come!! 🖐️👨‍🌾 ===============

Its a hard thing to apply CO2 i think. Its probably more suitable for real closed growareas, that are build for it. We cant get around the fact to circulate air and vent it and keep that CO2 in place. Have you tried different setups with the in and outtake? So maybe airtight the bottom, and intake from above and outtake above, and middelfan. CO2 does rather sink, or im i totaly lost? Good luck with the progress. 🙏🌿🌿🌿🙏

@Organic_LarF, You're right, CO2 is heavier than air. With this method, not enough CO2 is generated, even with the tent sealed tightly... I'm going to try other free methods to see if I can get what I want 😋🤷‍♂️
