Okay, this is the 2nd time I've started this diary, so hopefully the technical issues Growdiaires has been having the past few weeks are behind us and this diary will actually save properly. This Sour Diesel Auto seed came as a freebie with the Green Crack Auto Seeds that I ordered from 207 Genetics. I made my order on a Thursday, and my seeds arrived in my mailbox that Saturday, so shoutout to 207 Genetics for super fast shipping! I decided on the Green Crack Auto because I wanted something cerebral and uplifting, more daytime medicine than others in my lineup. My THC sensitivity has gone down, so I'm looking forward to trying some more popular strains. I originally wanted Pineapple Express, but since it was out of stock I got Green Crack instead, and I think 207 Genetics sent me the perfect freebie since it's cerebral and energizing. Exactly what I was looking for! From 207 Genetics website: "Sativa Dominant Hybrid Cannabinoids: 18-21% Indoor Yield: 500 gr/m2 Outdoor Yield: 50-200 gr/plant Flowering: 75 Days Height: 24-48 inches" ...and that's about all the info they give😄 I started this seed on June 14th in Coast of Maine soil inside of a Cowpot. I filled the bottom half with Bar Harbor blend, and the top with Sprout island blend, the thought being they germinate and sprout in the more mild medium and then root into the more nutrient dense medium. They started out in a 1020 tray with a thermostat controlled Vivosun heat mat set at 78F and a humidity dome in front of a SE window. I put them in on the 14th, they popped on the 16th, and by the 17th they were upright and at attention! Once they were up I put them in the window during the day and back in the tray/mat/dome setup at night.

She's steadily growing bit by bit every day. She is smaller than the Green Cracks, but I think she'll have no problem catching up😏 I started taking the auto girls outside this week. The first day they went out in the South flowerbed for about an hour, and I buried the Cowpots in the soil to keep the temp down and also so they didn't dry out. The next day they got 2 hours and so on... On 6/23 I transplanted into 5 gallon Root Pouches with more Coast of Maine Bar Harbor blend potting soil. On 6/24 I moved them out to the hoop house. Other than that things have been going well, no drama so far (knock on wood) and I think we're off to a good start😁

I started feeding the girls this week with my favorite Alaska Fish Fertilizer that's 5-1-1. The first feeding I only gave them about a 1/2 cup after I'd watered them a little and the next feeding they got about 1 cup and I've been gradually increasing. They haven't looked stressed or shown any real issues, and I wanted to go easy on introducing them to feed at first, since their water has also changed from the well water when they were in the house to the stream water they're getting now. I know that the stream has a higher iron content, and microbes from the frogs & toads and all the other little creatures in there. It doesn't seem to have phased them a bit. Unfortunately it looks like I may have deleted 1 or 2 photos, so there's only 1 for this week.

This little lady has had a full week! If I remember correctly she was given 4 feedings with the Alaska Fish Fertilizer. I moved the Autos out of the hoop house into the pathway next to the photoperiod plants on 7/5. Then on 7/7 she was topped, and she seems to be taking it just fine👍 I've been trying to take more photos, and I think I've succeeded as far as clearly showing her progress. She is a little smaller then the Green Cracks, but overall I'm happy with where they're at right now, considering how my previous Auto grows looked at this point😒 It won't be long until the Autos switch to flower, so I need to stay on top of feeding and keep a close eye on them😜

I brought the autos into the Hoop house on 7/11 because we had a forecast for heavy rain. That day our basement flooded and the stream water rose high and fast enough to dislodge the bridge out to the garden. I think I made the right decision😉 But that's not always the case. After the storm I moved the girls outside and started doing more research on LST with Autos. And what I learned is I never should have topped this one in the first place. She wasn't putting out enough vigorous vegetative growth to take the topping well, and so that's why she's still small. I'm still learning😬 So I decided to leave this one alone for now. While one of the Green Cracks has entered flowering, this one hasn't quite made the switch, so I'm still hoping for more growth🙏 But in anticipation of flowering I decided to add a bit more potassium to the mix and did equal portions of the Alaska 5-1-1 and Neptunes Harvest Fish 2-4-1, and I'll probably add some molasses to that mix when I water this evening.

Unfortunately I didn't get to do much with this girl this week😕 I just haven't had enough time! She got a couple feedings and we've been getting consistent rain lately, which is a big change from last summer. I need to do some LST as she comes into flower, and I need to do it soon!

Finally got the time on Sunday to do some LST with this girl since our Farmers Market was postponed due to rain. I had a lovely time getting soaked while training this girl😅 I used binder clips to anchor around the outside and PGarden EZ soft plant ties. I also switched up the feed a bit and used the Neptune's Harvest Rose & Flowering Formula mixed with some good ol' Crosby's Molasses, which I need to get another gallon of as we go into flowering season!🙌 Otherwise I'm happy with where we're at!

She's changed a lot in the last week and flowers have opened right up! On 8/1 I got some spent hardwood substrate blocks from a local mushroom farmer and crumbled them around the base of each plant, including the autos. Hoping the mycelium can get in there to work their magic in the last few weeks this girl has, not to say she has anything "wrong" with her, just looking forward to a good harvest! Other than that, there's not much to report. She was fed & watered 2x this week since we've still been getting consistent rain and I don't want to overwater.

Dorothy is doing great😊 She continues to stretch and her flowers are beautiful😍 I need to take some time to defoliate her soon tho. We're going through a heat wave right now with about 85% humidity so I need to get some more air moving through her so that I don't get mold issues. She smells fantastic!

Had to move the autos into the hoop house due to the oppressive humidity and continued rain. It's been 85-90% humidity at 80-85F every day, it's horrible. Praying that the mold spares her🙏 While I stopped feeding the Green Cracks, I'm still feeding this girl. She was at least a week behind the Green Cracks when they went into flower so I'm expecting her to finish a week behind them. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to give this girl the haircut she deserves so that will be next week.

Finally gave this girl a much needed defoliation. Unfortunately the humidity persists and she's started to get some mold😫 One of the Green Cracks had some aphids last week so I sprayed all the autos with Spinosad. Just flushing with water now, unfortunately I think I'm going to have to harvest early due to the mold and the weather forecast😞

This strain was a little slow to get going (gotta let that diesel pre-heat) because I wasn't feeding her as much as she wanted but once she got in her groove she put out some great growth.

Harvested day 71 242 g wet weight This girl should have gone a bit longer, but unfortunately due to our excessive humidity and rain I felt I should harvest before the mold took too much of her. I washed the plant with 1/4 cup each of lemon juice and baking soda in 5 gallons of warm water with a plain water rinse. After, I hung her up to dry in the upstairs of my barn on a clothesline with an oscillating fan going. I'll have more for you when she's finished drying and I've done my final trim and weigh.

@Irishkaren, This being a predominantly Sativa strain, I chose it for "Get up and go" daytime use👍 I have yet to try it tho

@SleeplessWalker, Not direct full sun since they're in the pathway between the photoperiods and my winter squash but I think they get enough.

After the last glitch on growdiaries, i had to redo anumber of diaries, did you find yours or did you have to create them again=? and happy growing
Fibro_Witch
Fibro_Witchcommented4 years ago
@Mrs_Larimar, I had to make them again! My "Diaries" tab on my page lists the total correct number, but then when you actually go to the diaries page 2 are missing. I tried searching both by diary name and by strain and couldn't find them. After messaging Growdiaires they said I'd have to start them again. At least I wasn't the only one!
