Clock changed to 12h and scrog installed yesterday.
Light adjusted to 45 LUX
One plant needs more nutes than the rest but as I have a main rez I need the same formula for all so either I underfeed one or overfeed the rest.
Plants are starting to stretch, trying to lower humidity but difficult as I live close to the sea, will be buying another dehumidifier today to lower humidity further on in the flowering cycle.
Slight discoloring on one of the leaves not sure if it's a issue but will keep checking for any more affected areas.
Tried out the two week defoliation don't think I will be removing more fan leaves for now air flow looks good will check back in 7 to 10 days.
Preflower and some resin is starting to form.
Didn't wait enough time for ozone to exit water so had a little miss hap that affected one of my ladies but the others look fine and recovery was fast.
Getting frosty! Buds haven't started stacking yet but the flowers are maturing well. Keeping ppm at 1000 not increasing yet as it seems they are very sensative to nutes.
Gave her a final defoliation 7 days after the last one.
Resin is increasing and looks like bud sites are ready to start putting on some bulk. Issue with low ph drift reaching 5.2 so I decreased 50ppm with distilled water without calmag to soften the water and counter the drift.
After decreasing ppm, ph drift continues, so I flushed for 2 days with distilled water and added back nutrients at half strength to increase to 800 ppm over time.
So this week I was afraid to have a white mildew contamination. It turned out to be high salts in the substrate. I flushed with 200l of fresh ph D water and gave then a light feed for a day and now the negative PH drift is over and things are going back to normal.
So these last two weeks was out on holiday and was unable to keep humidity below 60 percent resulting in some bud rot. I added a extra dehumidifier and removed two plants which resulted in a humidity drop to 50 percent and buds feel alot dryer to the touch.
The girls o took down werent 100 percent ready but better sacrifice than loose the whole crop. Next run I will have to be more careful with the number of plants and humidity control or choose a strain which avoids this issue.
Getting more sensative to nutes so I'm flushing to finish with final solution, no more bud rot, good smells coming now almost finishing and some âmbar tricombs.
Love the quality buds, great canabinoid content and amazing smell.
The quality of the buds are worth the work.
Defenatly important to flush this strain from time to time as she gets finicky with nutrients at the end.
Wasn't the best run, my first Hydro grow and I had a lot of over nutrition issues during vegetation which I expect will reduce yields.
I also had a bit of bud rot on one of my plants even with humidity of 55 percent and 26c with plenty of fans I expect the plants immunity was compromised from the abuse that happened during veg.
All in all, this strain is worth another attempt will defenatly keep this strain for a second run in the future.
Next up - - > canna aqua trial with killer glue by little chief collabs - - > legendary AK 47 x Original Gorilla Glue 4
Will add more photos of cured buds and dry weight in the next couple of weeks.
Nice scrog 👍. Mine filled more than expected and is more crowded than I wanted. I’ve been suffering the ph drop with gelato as well and have a strange situation as I had to massively reduce my ppm in flower... was happy in veg with everything I could throw at it then got sensitive about it in week two of flower. Well done, enjoy!
@Portnugs, that was my first assumption in my case too. I didn’t flush, but I did when I got locked out from ph swing a few weeks into flower. It helped to get her feeding a bit again but not with ph. I had an issue a while ago with fungus gnats I knocked down with azamax (they are back but too late to treat again so just sticky traps), I had read a case with someone in same situation, tried all the things and was suggested as bad bacteria in the res and do h2o2 flush. I was dropping point plus every 24 and losing leaves so I figured I treat and possibly kill the plant or I do nothing and it kills itself. Did the flush, reintroduced my bennies and added cannazym to clear dead organic matter and cut my ppm way down (was running too hard tbh) and everything has been stable for the first time since early flower! Hope that helps, it was scary lol. Start with some flushing.
Thanks @Gzuscamp! I'm still getting my head arround this negative ph drift! BTW we're you flushing your medium before flowering? I did no flushes and am wondering in accumulation of salts in the medium could cause this issue but not sure.
I just finished up this strain, and my girls got really sensitive to nutes late flower, watch you ppm/ec. Mine shot out a few sets of nanners. Smoke is great and still potent.
@Ga4rd2en0er, thanks for the heads up it's my first Hydro grow and I defenatly had some interesting experiences with ppm and ph.
Actually I started this week at 1100ppm and noticed a ppm natural increase to 1200 so 8 lowered to 1000 and noticed a big difference. I think I was on the red line.
Think I will be keeping steady now at 1000 until she starts asking for more food.
