Day 13 : Alg-a-mic applied as a foliar spray. Day 14 : Cal-mag introduced to Royal G with the ppm raised from 50 (soft water) to 200 , next watering Lemon will also get some cal-mag. Royal G has shown very nice growth this week. Looks like it's gonna be short and bushy. I was expecting a spike from Lemon but she didn't stretch or grow as much last 2 days. Next watering, I will start applying grow nutes. Unfortunately, I can't do anything with the temps. Goes up to 90F. Humidity isn't that bad as I'm still in veg. Royal G gets 100ml water every 2 days, Lemon 100ml every 3 days. They are 8cm tall and lamp distance about 50cm (20 inch) now.

Almost done with 1st week, watering my girls 50-60ml each, once a day in 2L pots. It's 28C (80F), humidity around 65. I check the soil (1inch deep) but still feels a little wet even after one day.(despite little water and 80F) Should I still water them as they are still seedling?

Hi there, If your soil is still wet, you should wait a little bit longer until top 1inch is completely dried or you can estimated the weight by checking how light the pot is.It should happen in the next two or three days. Then give water until you see some run off from the bottom and check again the weight of the pot to know when to give water again. In that way you can avoid over/underwatering to your plants and also prevent salt build up in the medium.Happy growing... ✌️

Day10 - Do you guys think they look happy? Planning 35-40 days in veg. They're in 2L pots (half a gallon). Should I wait until they fill the pot before transplanting or is it fine at any point? My concern is it may take too much time to fill the pots and need time to top, LST etc

Hi there, First of all, Don’t underestimate the growth of root.Even the small seedling have alot of roots growth down there.I would like to recommend to transplant when leaves become parallel with your pot’s rim.Always take caution while transplanting and don’t expose your roots too long at outside.Prepare your final pot first.I recommend to use at least 5gallon pot as final pot.Turning your plants upside down and cover your pot’s opening side with your hand.Gently remove your small pot and put your plant inside your final pot.Give some amount of water after transplanting.Good luck and Happy growing... ✌️

Although leaves look ok, my Lemon didn't do much in last couple days. Do you think this is normal for a sativa (only 3inches)? It'll hopefully catch up but still wanted to get your opinion. I hope I didn't do anything wrong with watering or it's not because of high temps? Thanks

Temps will slow them down 83 f is max temperature. Plus light distance will effect if plant needs to get taller to get more light. Good luck and happy growing 🌱🌱🌱

Although I spray water around the stem slowly, the water drainage was too fast, just spraying 20-30 ml of water and it drained right away in 2L (half a gal) pots - watered 100-150ml Do you think there could be a problem with the roots or soil structure? She is growing so slow

Organomananswered grow question 3 years ago
You need to water the whole pot, not just a piddling amount next to the stem, roots will not grow into dry substrate and this could be why the growth may seem slow. It is far better to deep water until run off every few days than it is to give tiny amounts often. The soil could also be over dry and has become "hydrophobic", whereby water just runs through the pot rather than be absorbed. Standing the pots in a container of water for a few minutes and letting the water get sucked up from the bottom can rehydrate the soil quite easily and quickly. Growth could also be affected by keeping them in small pots too long, they really need 15-20 litre pots (or bigger) for best and fastest growth. Hope this helps, Organoman.

First set of true leaves I noticed a brown spot and feeding a little cal-mag now. Cotyledon leaves are almost fully yellow and dead. Also, true leaves getting lighter. Does that mean it's not getting enough nutes? How can I get this plant moving? It started off really well..

Yes its asking for more nutrients. Start feeding it grow nutrients. If your growing with LED lights feed a little more cal mag then normal. Your plant is healthy and fine. That's 100% normal when a plant runs low on nitrogen and other nutrients

I was told to water to runoff but even 1/2L of water during transplant hasn't dried in 5 days in hot temps. Since I'm watering like once a week now, should I feed at full strength and to runoff? Girls are still not very developed and this keeps extending veg period..

Waiting days for the top inch or so to dry out is not a problem, but feeding full strength to baby plants is. Half strength is plenty. Always feed only if the substrate is moist, feeding on dry soil can burn the roots. After looking through your diary, everything seems spot on, so the slow growth is most likely down to genetics.

Lemon Haze is a great strain from RQS. I grew her outside for 2 summers. Gonna follow along with this one πŸ˜‰ And for u grow question for transplant I recommend adding a little bit of root stimulator or Mychorizza. Will give the girls a perfect start after transplant πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜‰

@BigL1, very welcome. All here to learn from each other. My girls are doing great. Jack Herer really knocked it out of the park in those last vegative weeks, an insane stretch and she looks amazing now. Can't wait for full flowering period πŸ˜‚

@Clutch, Thank you my dude. I got my Mychoriza ready and will probably transplant in 4-5 days. I hope your girls are doing fine too.

They look fine man, good Γ©volution after 3 weeks. Hot temps can slow things a bit down but as long they are not showing defencies its great. Stick to shedule and don't overwater or overfeed. After transplant my Lemon Haze started growing real good but first 5 weeks were slow too. They will be fine πŸ˜‰πŸ™

@BigL1, hey man, I personally transplant when the roots reach the sides or bottom of the pot. would let her dry out for 2 to 3 days. Then start watering a little bit around the stem and spread the rest around the entire soil. That way the roots needs to search for the moist and they become stronger. When they are small overwatering is a real roots killer. They can't breathe and they won't grow too. Every 3 to 4 days a half liter will do fine and the plant will show you when she needs more.

@Clutch, Many thanks brother! I look forward to seeing my Lemon stretch too :) By the way, I will definitely do Jack Herer next round, that seems like the perfect strain for me :D So this morning while watering the small plant, I realized the drainage was a little too fast. I still spray water around the stem to avoid overwatering but after spraying only 20-30 ml of water, the water drained right away in 2L pots (half a gal), I kept spraying the soil slowly but the water was coming out so fast, just like it didn't go through anything and from one hole only. Do you think this could be a part of the problem? I was going to transplant this but I decided to wait as she is still so small but after seeing the drainage, I want to transplant now. What's your take on this? Thanks bro!

Clutchcommented3 years ago
@BigL1, you're welcome buddy. Once the Roots settle in they can change very quick. Outdoor Vs indoor opinion of course but they will stretch a lot for sure so be prepared πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ because of the forced flowering I could control it previous grow but this year my auto jack herer really surprised me haha. Already bigger now then my photoperiod Lemon Haze πŸ˜‚ if u make the right environment they will always respond well. Don't know much about LED but other users will help u out. Right distance will do a lot. focus on temperature and humidity now. Very light feeding now and once they grow bigger a slow build up, that will do the trick. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. All here to help and learn from each other Happy growing πŸ™πŸ˜‰

Looking good man. The few bad leaves will not recover anymore and can be moved away. The plant will use energy to try to save them but they won't be beneficial for ur plant anymore. Lollipop them so plant can focus on the strong leaves. Good grow so far. They will evolve fast now once the roots can spread. Happy growing buddy πŸ˜‰πŸ™

@BigL1, yes, now is the perfect time to top them. Many growers do it when the plants hit the 4th node. Enough roots to bounce back for sure now she has six 😁
BigL1
BigL1commented3 years ago
@Clutch, Thank you brother. I will remove the bad leaves tomorrow. Also, would you top them now? I mean they look bushy and not that tall and growing 6th node right now. I was planning to wait for a couple more days since I just transplanted them.

Clutchcommentedweek 53 years ago
It is still looking great man. No bad leaves and diseases. Healthy green leaves too. Once the humidity and temperature are on point they will react well. These plants can withstand a lot of damage and still deliver. These are minor problems that need a little adjustment. U are on the way for a good harvest. Just stay low on nutrients in the beginning like Organoman says too. That's a major error and harder to correct. Happy growing buddy πŸ˜‰πŸ™
