This lady will grow along with the Gorilla outdoor! Also in the same soil as my last year grow.
She also started slowly due to very low temps but nicer weather is coming.
Low temps, hard sunlight, the ladies are struggling a bit so I decided to give a try to a special recipe I found on IG witch is a smoothie of fresh plants to feed them.
I found it on the account of @dragonflyearthmedecine , go check out they have amazing tips for growers!!
So here is how it goes:
"Fresh blended tea was made from nettle, horsetail, dandelion greens and chickweed. Chop them up and put into your high powered blender with half water. Fill up 1/3 of your tea container with the plant slurry add 1 tsp per gallon of Radiant Green (or another bacterial inoculant that will speed up the breakdown process in the soil) and fill container with non chlorinated water. Drench plants immediately. The fresh enzymes, growth hormones, complete minerals and tons of raw vitamins are so great for your soil! The plants look noticeably healthier in 1 hour! A wonderful instant superfood smoothie for plants. " quote from their IG
I don't have chickweed so I replaced it by comfrey but this thing is just miraculous!!! Give it a try!
As temps rise growth accelerate!
I sprayed some horse tail tea on all the plant to bring more silica and help nutes uptake.
The recipe can still be found on the @Dragonflyearthmedecine IG account, I'll post it here:
"Horsetail Tea for foliar. Foliar spraying is the best way for a plant to uptake vital minerals. Plant minerals are easily extracted in a overnight steeping process. Collect your herbs early in the morning. Boil water. Let it cool for 5 minutes and then add your horsetail (or other herbs). Let steep in pot over night, strain and foliar full strength or dilute with water. This steeping process extracts all the minerals and what is left is a full spectrum mineral supplement that your plants easily understand. Horsetail is very rich in silica and the tea coats the leaves to aide in beneficial microbial population and a protective shield or extra layer that helps with pathogens. Spray plants in the early morning hours. Coat all parts of stem and stalk. We like to do at least 4 horsetail foliars during veg. The plants respond almost immediately!💚🌱"
And yes they do love that!
Sorry for the lack of pics.
While first pistils are coming out for the Gorilla still nothing here but I bet next week they will show up.
As I live in a quite windy place it can be dangerous to lst by attaching the branches to the pot so I came up with a little trick. Call it self supported lst gear, hope it will do the job! As you can see it in the first pic the tech as been applied to every node.
More pics next week!
Those two ladies are fine! Growing accordingly with the few sunny days they get, currently the weather is mostly cloudy.
This year I see very few parasites compared to other years so I have less job on the manual extermination process.
I decided for the second year to not use any kind of product to prevent parasites attacks and I have to say I see no difference with when I was using neem oil... It takes me 5 to 10 min per plant to manually remove the few aphids and friends that show up from time to time and I manage to keep the plants clean this way. Of course with more or bigger plants it would be too much time consuming but in my case it works fine.
Also I find those two strains quite hungry compared to all the previous strains I grew outdoors. They can take nutes almost every day, and the sun isn't even shining bright!
Let see what the flowering phase bring us!
Hi guys!
Outdoor in Belgium is tricky! We have really shitty weather so far, not too much rain but very cloudy and not much sun!
So I think they could grow faster but anyway they are in good shape. I try to lower the nutes when the sun is too shy.
But from now on they forcast sunny days so the growth should accelerate (and more pics to come fore sure)!
Cya soon!
Wow! Thank you mighty sun! You really make things go faster here!
We have had a californian weather here for a few days and the effects are directly visible! And the weather should continue like this for a few more weeks! I particularly don't like high temps but the ladies are seriously enjoying!
I'm happy to see that parasites are not very active so I don't have much to do to get rid of them! Only a few aphids to eliminate evrey day!
So see you next week with, I hope, super fat buds!
Hi there! The ladies seem to enjoy this exceptionally sunny weather we have. Fattening up impressively and growing big trichomes is what is going on here!
Bonus is the bugs and parasites seem to have decided to leave them alone so I even don't have to much work to do.
The smell is amazing! Can't wait for the harvest!
See you soon
This year is really like no other regarding the weather! Girls still fattening nicely!
We had the two first and only rainy days since two month so I covered them, don't wanna take any risk of but rot and co!
Trichomes are huge! As it is very tricky to take live macro shots outdoor with the permanent little breeze we have here I may not be able to show nice pics of them but I tell you I never saw such big trichs! Those new genetics are amazing!
And btw the cookies smells fantastic! Very sweet smell all over the place! Can't wait to vape her!
See you next week
Guys I never had such a beauty outdoor here in Belgium!!! 😍😍
The continuously hot and shiny weather of this last three month was hard for the body but apparently very good for the plants.
They are fat and so smelly! The trichs look huge! I can't wait to vape them!
The cookies is now on flush and should be chopped by the end of the week! The smell on her si one of the best I ever had, smell of a giant bag of sweets! Amazing!
I hope I will manage to do some more macros outside if the wind allows me to!
See you next week for the harvest!
Same statement than for the Gorilla... those new genetics are amazing! Super frosty and smells amazingly sweet, beautiful shape and easy to grow. I find Cookies even more disease and pest resistant than Gorilla.
I probably could have even fed her a bit more but the buds are already fat and dense!
Can't wait the end of the month to properly vape test her! Just vaped the trims for now and I can already tell you she is gonna be at/close to the top of my tasty strains list!
Cya in a few weeks!
4 weeks later:
WOOOOW!! I confirm! This strain is directly in the top 2 strains I have grown in terms of taste!! Amazingly sweet with some fruity touches and a then a creamy sweety ending! Wouldn't say it makes my think of cookies but really more of cookie dough! I'll still continue the curing but already after a month she is so delicious!
The high is not as intense as I would have expected, I bet the THC level doesn't meet what some growers can obtain with more controlled environment but still nice and happy.
And when you vape cookies, you might also eat cookies... she made me feel so hungry!
So I'm very happy with this strain, I think I'll grow her again but indoor to see the difference.
She perfumed very nicely our terrace. Having a bbq outside with friends and having her and the gorilla filling our noses with mouthwatering smells has been a blast!!!
Thanks to all out here on GD and see ya for the next grow!
Peace!
@Mrs_Larimar, Hi there! What I wrote there was a quote from dragonfly earth medecine IG post but I totally agree. What you can observe is the plant regaining color, the leaves rising and an overall better looking. It is basically a growth booster. You can also water with it!
@Magnetous_tryko, My royal Cookies grow comes nearly to the End, My Girls are nice and Healthy is used fresh mixed aloe silicea ,calcium, magnesium, and molasses, spirulina mix 2 times a week,. your diary inspirated me to do that . thy
@bobo420, @OutForRealbeanCarib, thanks! Definetly not a problem! Had some a few weeks ago on maybe 3 leaves and that's all! Now I don't see any new ones. It's interesting to note that only the cookies has been attacked, not a single one on the gorilla...
@Larimar, Thanks mate! We started the season with quite high temps and low humidity and as I wanted to start them from seed outside I believe they wouldn't have survived without it!
Congratulations mate, wonderful job; is always a pleasure to follow your diaries, I will try to follow your example ! I'm juste starting, but full of hope ;-) 😊👍
