Captain’s Log (I know that’s a different show)
Today was my first day on earth and Willie got me straight to work mixing and digging preparing the soil. I would add 2ltrs of Plagron lightmix, 0.5ltrs of perlite, then 6grms of RQS Easy Boost, 1grm of Mycorrhiza mix, 0.5grms of Rhizobacter, mix it up and then keep repeating these steps until the pot was full. I feel like I could sleep for a whole light year. Seed was soaked in ph’d water for 24hrs before planting. I’ve got a lot of thinking and soul searching to do before I can decide how much Lightside and Darkside I want in my strain, or Sativa and Indica as they call it here on earth. I think I may need to try contact the ghost of Obi Wan for some advice on this one.
Day1: Father and child both doing well after a successful and happy birth.
Day 2: The stem stretched a bit further than I would have liked so I’ve added another layer of soil to build up around the stem and I’ve moved the light a bit closer. Looks good now.
Day 3: Continued to use the Force to make the seedling grow. It’s looking happy and healthy. It’s tedious work just standing there 18hrs a day.
Day 4: Another good day of growing. I had R2 telling me dirty jokes to keep me distracted from the monotony of the task. Put some water around the stem just to dampen it down a bit.
Day 5: Nothing to report. It’s already starting to feel like I’ve been here for a light year but Mr.Nelson said he’ll be bringing round some bud soon so that should help with the boredom. He said it’s important that I learn for myself by actually trying it, the difference between Indica and Sativa.
Day 6: Dampened down soil around seedlings 🌱
Day 7: A week down and everything is looking good. Dampened down soil again today around seedling 🌱
Day 8: Dampened down around soil again and continued to use the Force to make the plant grow.
Day 9: Nothing to report. Mr.Nelson played me songs he wrote. He’s not very good and all his songs sound the same. He should probably stick to just growing weed and leave the singing to the professionals.
Day 10: Dampened down around stem again. Looks like it will need a full watering in the next few days. R2 laid down some beats today while Mr.Nelson played us more of his songs.
Day11: Gave full watering today. It took 3ltrs to run off.
Day 12: There’s continuous obvious growth every day. It was just me and R2 today. It was nice to get a break from Mr.Nelson’s songs.
Day 13: Continued to use the Force to make the plant grow. No need for watering. Found myself humming Mr.Nelsons song ‘City of New Orleans’ all day. Catchy tune. 🎶
Day 14: Two weeks old today. Mr.Nelson thinks this is a good reason to have a Rainbow 🌈 Party. Plant looks okay for water. Moving it a little further from the light today.
Day 15: Nothing to report. Looks like it will need watering tomorrow night.
Day 16: Watered with light dose of nutrients (1ml CM, 1ml G), Han and Leia showed up today. Frightened the shit out of me. They’ll be sticking around to help.
Day 17: Added in some extra light.
Day 18: Moved the plant another few CM’s away from the light. Continued to make good growing progress today. Han stopped by and hung out for a while. No sign of Mr.Nelson and Leia. They sure do seem to be getting on well.
Day 20: Watered with nutrients again (1ml CM, 1ml G). It took nearly 3ltrs including run off.
Day 21: Three weeks old today. We’ll possibly start LST in the next few days.
Having a huge slug problem at the moment. I looked up the species on the internet and they are known as the Hutt. I have tried using the Force but it won’t work on him. Does anyone have some (creative) ideas on how to get rid of a giant slug.

Day 22: Started on LST today. For the first time ever I removed 1or 2 of the big fan leaves before bending the plant over. These leaves would have become trapped under the plant so i would be removing them later anyway so I thought it would be easier to do so beforehand. I also removed the first pair of nodes after the cotyledon. To reduce the risk slowing down or stunting growth I done this bit of defoliation under a very dim light, half way through the 6 hour lights out night schedule when all the plants hormones would have been returned to the roots..
Day23: Continued with more LST pinning down branches.
Day 24: Small bit more LST toady and also moved plant from the veg space with CFL’s to the main grow space in under the LED lights. There’s a good few pistils starting to show.
Day 25: Watered with light dose of nutrients (1m G). Took around 3 litres.
Day 27: Removed the biggest low down fan leaf.
Day 28: Removed one more big fan leaf but in the process accidentally removed a branch also. Mr.Nelson was pretty pissed. But you know what they say “What doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger”. Han suggested I don’t use that phrase with Mr.Nelson.
Day 29: No defoliation today. Giving the plant a rest after accidentally breaking the branch yesterday. Watered with nutrients (1ml G, 1ml SR). Took just under 3ltrs including run off.
Day 30: Removed 3 of the original fan leaves attached to the main stem. There’s 2 left still to be removed. It seems all of a sudden the bud sites are staring to look like flowers. It doesn’t look like there’s not many bud sites. There’s also not a lot of leaves, it’s not what I would call a bushy plant (yet anyway). This suits me, well it does if the yield is good.
Day 31: Watered with nutrients (1ml G, 1ml SR). Took around 3ltrs. I clipped off one more of the original big fan leaves so now there’s only one left. I also pulled in the two branches furthest to the right, bracing them off each other.
Day 32: I don’t think worried is the correct word, but I am definitely conscious of the fact that this plant leaves are small and sparse (photos attached), it I’m used to battling plants that have too many leaves. There’s only 7 proper bud sites which at the moment look like they will be small. Branches are also very skinny. All this could be because of the strain itself or it could be due to the fact that the bulb I used from weeks 1 to 4 was only 125watt CFL compared to the 200watt CFL which I have always used. That’s the only difference between this and any other plant I have grown. The flowers are very well formed considering it’s not even 5 weeks old yet. Sure all we can do now is just see how it goes.
Day 33: Just continued to use the Force to make the plant grow. Removed the the last two original fan leaves.
*Due to commitments in the real world this week will only be five days long. Next week will be 9 days long to balance everything out.
Day 34: Watered with first dose of flowering nutrients (1ml B, 1ml SR).
***I’m gonna break character here for a few mins. If that messes with anyone’s head because you are so deep into the storyline, then you can just pretend this is the director talking. I really wasn’t liking the look of the plant. There was loads of leaves with big very long stems. If it was earlier in the summer I would just put it outside and start another one inside. I don’t have that luxury so I’ll just have to see how it goes. I done some serious defoliation, removing more than 20 leaves. I’m not holding out much hope for a big yield.
Day 37: Watered with just PH’d water.
Day 39: Watered with Nutrients (1ml B, 1ml SR)
***Character break again. I saw the plant today for the first time in six days. More leaves are after growing big long stems. The few flowers on this plant are topping away nicely. It looks like 3 good bud sites maybe and 2 smaller ones. I have a Rhino Ryder in a 4ltr pot growing next to this Skywalker which looks like it will produce a bigger yield. Either way we have to just see what happens. I’ll hand you back to Luke now for the rest of the grow.
Day 40: Continued to use the Force to make the plant grow. This place is really starting to remind me of my time training with Master Yoda on Dagobah. Removed a few leaves with long stems.
Day 43: Watered with Nutrients (1ml B, 1ml SR). Removed three leaves with long stems. Plant only grew 5cm in height in the last week. I moved a little closer to the light. I checked next to all the bud sites with a lux meter. All buds are getting between 61,000 and 75,000 lux so this is pretty perfect.
Day 45: We had a power outage today so the plant got 13hrs darkness.
Day 46: Watered with Nutrients (1ml B, 1ml SR, 1ml GS)
Day 49: Watered with same dose of nutrients again.
